Anaheim Desert Inn and Suites Review

Yeah mobility..I'd def get first floor. The elevator is old and just..SO crazy slow. It became COMICAL to us lol

There is a second elevator at the back that is rarely used. We only used it when we happened to get a room close to it. It doesn't go down to the garage, and I think it only goes to the third floor. -but if the ground floor is not available, this might be the option you want. And the back section on the right side only has 3 floors, so you could get top floor there to help eliminate noise.

The only time noise seemed to be a problem for us was when our room was next to the stairs.

I'm glad to have helped! We stayed in a standard room. I was very impressed by how seriously they took the bed bug issue. Have a great stay and enjoy the super short walk!
Thanks! The walk is why I booked it!!! Well one of the reasons!

We will be in a Parolor Suite A. We were told that for that room there weren't any of that size on the first floor. My youngest might be in double casts so I had asked to be ground level. They said it wasn't possible. We are on the 5th or the 6th.

Family of 5 and we stayed there in June. Loved the location. Room was fine - we had two qns and a door that separated TV room w/ pull out couch where out two sons slept. It worked out perfectly. Staff was pleasant and location was PERFECT. Breakfast light but something to go w/ our granola bars and bananas anyway. Also an indoor pool. We stayed in the middle two rooms from elevator and it was fine. I saw the post about bed bugs and was hesitant to book again for 1nt in March. Thanks for your recent review.

Ooooh one more thing. If you try to leave when the maids are out in the walkway you can't get by with a stroller..so wheelchair/etc would be the same. Just a warning there too. DH had to get DD out, pick up our very large stroller and lift it over their cart.

I can definitely see that...

Also, you can view fireworks from the rooftop, if you can't stay in the parks to see them. Unfortunately, they don't pump in the fireworks music, but it's still worth it!

We have stayed twice and had the C rooms, which look like 2 adjoining rooms but only one has an exit door and one side does not have full bath. Those rooms seem to be in the middle of the hotel. Last time we had the B room which is actually 2 separate rooms with an adjoining door. We were in the back on 2nd floor. I agree with the slowness of the elevators. (Our kids like to "race" and see if elevator rider gets there before stair walker. Stairs always win.) There is an elevator in the back but it does not go to the basement to unload/load your car. On check out day, the maid cart was in the way to get to the middle elevator, so he used the back elevator to get to 1st floor then middle elevator to get to basement. Hassle, but we will continue to go back. Never had any cleanliness or service issues. I highly recommend booking well in advance to get the best rate.

Just got back from DL and we stayed at Desert Inn and Suites. It worked out perfectly. We would stay here again. Loved how close it was to the park. (Oh and I was a little bit worried about the bed bug report, before we went, but my husband and I went in to the room and checked things and felt great about it staying here.)
We were on the 5th floor of the hotel. Reviews say the elevator is really slow. We didn't feel it was that slow-It really wasn't bad! Sure it is one elevator and you have to wait for someone to unload their stroller/kids on a floor and then it comes back down to you. REally not bad to me.
WE had a parlor suite A. $79 a night. (w/ taxes, parking, fees, the total was $106 a night.) 2 queen beds in one room- Living room had couch/pullout bed. Fit 7 of us. (My 2 year old slept in a sleeping bag by my bed. ) When we called to book it, they said that was okay to have 7 of us.
Maid's were great. Front desk was great. Rooms were very clean. Bathroom w/ the toilet and shower had a fan/light in it. WE would leave that on all thru the night, to drown out sound and for a night light. and also there was a fan on the wall in L.R. and we kept that on all night too.
Swimming pool was indoor and that was great. We swam 2 times. Kids loved it. Reviews say how small it is, but it was fine for us. HOt tub was busy most all of the time, but we just wanted to let the kids swim for an hour in the pool and that worked out great.
WE would go back to hotel at dinnertime and make microwavable mac n cheese or eat at MCDonalds that was very close. For lunches we would make sandwiches and a bag of doritos and loads of snack foods and take into the park. We had corndogs 2 days for lunch at DL to switch it up. ( 1 corndog w/ chips cost about $7. ) (WE brought a small life-time fold up table and set that up in the L.R. to keep our box of food/snacks and to make sandwiches.) I brought paper plates, plastic bowls, etc. OH and a big bowl and dishsoap to wash the bowls, spoons and sippy cups at night.)
The Hotel serves Breakfast which was toast/danish dry ceral. juice/milk, oatmeal. We also brought our own yogurt to eat at breakfast. Oh and I brought an extra bag of cereal if the kids wanted more than the cheerios or cornflakes the hotel provided. We would just eat that up in the room.
The fridge could hold 4 gallons of milk (I took a shelf out) plus there is a small lower shelf and drawer. Would stay again!!!!

Awesome review! Thank you!!

Does the hotel have free Wi-Fi? or a computer you can use to send e-mails?

Do they hold your luggage without a charge? I saw one place I was looking at charged for that!

The price is better than BWPPI this year but if I'm getting a bunch of charges for other things that are included at BWPPI then there is no point in trying out a new hotel.

Yes, free wifi. Worked better than my 4g!!

Dunno about luggage but if no one answers, call them!

Talked to my mom and she thinks it's worth trying out Desert Inn since we would go for the Parlor Family Suite. More room for us to spread out. We would each have our own bed and the extra 1/2 bath will come in handy with 4 people (2 adults and 2 kids). We would still save almost $100 which we could use towards food.

Now that I think about it Wi-Fi isn't that important. We can always pick up a $5 or $10 phone card and use that to keep in touch with the rest of the family.

My mom didn't even whine or anything when I mentioned it's 100% smoke free. She said I'll just walk out to the street then. I think she is really liking the extra space at Desert Inn.

Thanks for the great reviews of this motel! We are taking my DS and his friend, both 17, in the spring and I have been looking for a place with 3 beds as they each need their own bed. All the suites were pretty expensive or far away but this looks awesome! It will be great for them to have their own space and TV :cool1: We are now booked for mid May, can't wait!:yay:

Is there a way to take off the parking fee?

I don't have to pay that if we don't have a car, right?

I could not get the wifi to work very well at all in the room we were in on level 5. It worked okay the first day, but terrible the next few. I just used hubby's iphone to check emails at night after returning from the park. Probably depends which floor/room to get the wifi working great.
If you couldn't get the wifi to work in the room, you could always go down into the lobby. I'm sure that would work too.

We were also on level 5 and could not get wifi, other than that we loved the room, especially the spa tub defiantly with the extra $10 / night.

They'll hold your luggage without charge. We used one of their lockers to store our laptops but they would have held them if we wanted them to.

We were on Level 3 in the middleish. Thought I'd toss that in for those who want WIFI to work. We were also able to get on through Denny's. :)

You can def ask for your parking to be removed!
