Just booked this resort. We looked at other resorts but all the reviews were 5 for this resort. Did anybody stay here and how is it? Can you walk to DL or have to use the bus. We have a Concierge room booked any info on this would be great. Thank you all for your time.

I posted this last week in response to another question about the Anabella...

It is a pretty hotel, however I didn't find it to be family friendly when I was there. It was a few years ago, so things may have changed, but I won't be staying there again. We booked 2 connecting rooms with 2 double beds in each. We ended up with rooms that were not connecting, no big deal. There was a double or queen bed in the main area and then in a tiny room there was twin bed. This didn't work very well when we were planning to have 2 people per bed. It also isolated one person. The hotel was full so there was nothing that they could or would do about it. I think they cater a lot more to the convention goers vs the vacationing families. They advertised complimentary breakfast, but it wasn't anything great. They were actually very snotty to us when we went to get it. They wouldn't let us eat in the dining room, we had to get our food and go back to our rooms, it was like they didn't want any kids there. They were rude when explaining what we could eat and said we could have one bread and one fruit and one juice and that was all--they way they treated us was the worst part. We spoke with another mother who was there with her children and she felt the same way. For the hotel's sake, I hope they've become more family friendly, but they did loose my business.

Maybe it will be better for you as you booked a Concierge room and hopefully they've gotten better over the past couple years.

I've since stayed at the Fairfield and the HoJo, both of which were more family friendly and the rates were cheaper too. It was also a closer walk to the parks.

Some of my family members stayed there earlier this fall and had a horrible experience with them. My cousin is a fellow DIS board poster and she posted all their experiences on this board. I am not sure if there is a way to go back to late september or october to find the post. Otherwise you can go on tripadvisor.com and you can see their reviews on there about the hotel.

We just got back from 10 days at the Annabella and our experience was great. There were 3 of us Hubby, myself and 14yr old daughter. We stayed in a mini-suite which had a queen bed plus queen sofa bed in one room plus another little room with single bed and another TV which my daughter loved.

The housekeeping was good, the room was spotless and on most days the room was completely cleaned by noon except the busiest days when it was done by about 3:00,

It had 2 pools one for adults only and another for families, we only used the family pool which my daughter said was warm and clean and the patio area was pretty with palm trees etc.

Our bed was comfortable and the single must have been alright because I did not hear any complaints from dd.

We were on the ground floor and for the most part heard very little noise from the upstairs neighbors. We could hear the maids one morning when we slept in and they were vacuuming the room upstairs but certainly nothing to worry about.

I think you can book with confidence. If the only reason you are booking a club room is for the breakfast, I'm not sure I would bother with the extra expense (if it is more than $20.00 extra for a club room). We did try the Tangerine Grill on one night and the food was just alright nothing special. We drove to the Denny's near the dolphin cove most mornings (about 4 minutes away by car) and we were always able to get seated right away and the staff was super nice and friendly and the food was always good and a huge hot breakfast for 3 people was around $20.00.

We found all the restaurants served massive portions. We are what I consider big people with big appetites and without exception not one of us was able to finish all the food on our plate for the entire 10 days we were in the DL area, so anybody with a lighter appetite be forewarned you might want to share.

The day after I got back I spent an hour typing up my trip report and when I clicked on submit thread it came back saying I could not submit a duplicate thread? and it just vanished, does anyone know what's up with that?
I will try again this afternoon when I get our staff payroll done but to sum it up we had a blast.............................Anne

I liked my stay at the Anabella. It is not really a "Hotel" but a motel with exterior corridors. The buildings and grounds are nice looking and the room decore is pretty with nice bathrooms. The room was comfortable and quiet. You can walk to the parks in about 15 minutes.
