As some of you know, I lost my beloved Annie to myasthenia gravis in June. I was planning on getting a puppy in the fall but a rotator cuff inury with limited use of my right arm put an end to that idea. The breeder offered me "Jude". He and I bonded immediately. He has been with our family now for three weeks and he is more incredible every day. I can't think of one thing that isn't wonderful about him. First of all, he is Annie's nephew. Her litter mate is his father. Don't ask me how black standard poodles produce white standard poodles, I don't have a clue. DSs jokingly have said, he is "Annie the White". (Gandalf the Gray comes back as Gandalf the White). He really is wonderful. He comes everytime he is called, even when he sees a rabbit. He has done all of his business outside and communicates that he needs to go out, even though he has always had a doggie door. He is learning "pet tricks", shake hands, sit pretty, (two paws up) even though his life has been the show ring. He had to be invited into our bed but now he knows he is welcomed. He doesn't beg, he doesn't steal food off of the table and he loves riding in the car. Most of all, he is crazy about me which is amazing considering he is 8 years old and had a wonderful family before. I gave him a bath today and there is nothing I can't do to him. I hope Jude lives forever.
