An unhappy CM

Hi! We have been home from WDW for about 9 days. The more I think about one very negative experience the more I think I should report it but I am not sure. My dh took a bus from DTD to OKW to work out in the exercise room. He was the only one on the bus at the time. He casually said something about working at disney and the cm took over the conversation. He had all kind of complaints and used totally inappropiate language. My dh was sorry he had brought up the subject but normally the bus drivers are all great and have lots of possiitive things to say about their jobs. What would you do?

I think I would just put it behind me. Perhaps since your DH was the only person on the bus the CM felt he could speak freely. If inappropriate language was used while children were on the bus I'd be extremely upset. Maybe this CM was having a particularly bad day. Let's face it, all the people visiting aren't as pleasant as your family....I've seen some people treat the CM's badly, VERY badly. Maybe that's what happened. Seriously though, I don't think it's worth thinking about anymore at this point. Just move on and hope that CM is having a better day today.

Yeah, CM's get treated horribly sometimes. Maybe that talk with you was like a deep breath for the rest of his day.

Remember, it's hard to fake a smile all the time. Especially when you don't mean it.

Though most of the time we do. :)

Good point. THanks

As unpleasant as it was I think I would try and move on too. He was probably having a bad day and although I think bad language is ALWAYS inappropiate I don't think our society agrees with me. Thank goodness your husband was the only one on the bus. I think there are so many other words in our language why do people need to use them.

I would hate for him to be the best worker there is, having a bad day, get fired and not be able to feed his family. Yes, probably a bit of an exageration, but you never know circumstances. And he should think before acting, but I know I too am guilty of not thinking sometimes!

I've worked in the service industry for more than half my life (21 years now), I have to say that MOST of the time we remember what we're being paid to do - however, sometimes you get a particularly annoying person/group & it's hard to remember why you're supposed to be there! Chalk it up to simple venting & a friendly disposition - on your DH's part!

My guess is the CM just needed to "vent" and trusted your DHas a sounding board. It may have been poor judgement, but it sounds like he just needed a good listener. Rude CM's bother me, but this one wouldn't faze me at all.

As someone who deals with VERY angry people every day (I work for the government in taxation) I can tell you what everyone else is saying... chalk it up to a bad day! I've had days where I just want to reach across the counter and punch someone:scared: , or get home and want to "kick the cat":scared1: ! (25 years and I never did either though) I'll bet that bus driver, as he drove away, started thinking to himself... "wish I had that conversation back"!

Remember the good times, forget the bad.........:thumbsup2

>>> wish I had that conversation back

He had better be careful next time. His passenger could have been a supervisor (in the transit industry they use the terms inspector and starter) in disguise.

Maybe the CM secretly wished it was a supervisor in disguise! Sometimes that's the only way people with higher authority hear real problems going on! (Minus the bad language, of course)
We met a CM that was retired, he must have been in his high 60s, we struck up a conversation with him about how we'd love to work for Disney and he said it's not all what everyone thinks. He said they aren't treated very good, don't make much and don't get appreciated. Don't know if it's true, but this is from the horses mouth!
Still, I'd love to work for Disney one day and that is my dream :cloud9:
