An Unforgettable Finish- Oct 2011 TR **Happily Ever After (Completed 5/3)

The boys make such cute superheroes....even without a cape! :goodvibes

Sounds like y'all were off to a good start for the party! :thumbsup2 I can't wait to hear about the rest of the party!

Thanks! At least Landon wore his cape.

The party was a lot of fun! I love the beginning of a party at Disney, with the whole night still ahead of us.

Those are some pretty cute superheroes, with and without capes! :)

I think you did a great job making them! A CM who doesn't know who Duffy is? That's pretty odd.

Thank you! Maybe Carter took Edna's advice of no capes too seriously when he watched The Incredibles. :rotfl:

I'm not usually very crafty, so I was pleased with how they looked. I thought that was really weird, too. Disney's pushing Duffy so much I'd have thought all CM would know him.

That's a shame that Carter refused his cape, but really, as long as you're all having a good time and are avoiding meltdowns, it's all good!:thumbsup2

Avoiding meltdowns is important for good Disney touring. I just think he should have objected to the cape when I had him wear it at home, so I'd have a chance to plan something else. But it was still fun, even with the Capeless Carter.

Awww, I'm sorry Carter didn't want to wear his cape, they looked really cute!

I didn't do any of the candy lines at either party. They always looked too long, but next time, I'm definitely going to a few, how could I just pass up free candy? :rotfl2:

I can't believe I saw you guys that night leaving MK when we were in line for Pooh and I didn't go say hi really quick!

I actually though he might enjoy wearing a cape and pretending to be a superhero. He knows who Batman is. :confused3

No candy lines? I loved going through some of the lines. I mostly wanted enough candy to occupy the boys while we waited for the parade, but some of those candy stations were really cool!

It would have been fun if we could have met, but I understand sticking with Pooh instead. After all, there's very seldom any line to meet me.

Awww, I'm sorry the boys didn't like It's a Small World. And then to get stuck on the ride. That's just the worst!

I love the Photopass pictures. I hope we can get some like that this year.

I hope you got to see the parade! I hear that it's great.

I wonder if it is a little boy thing. I remember when my brother was two and we took him on Small World for the first time. He was screaming and crying and trying to climb under the seat. :p

Of all the rides they could have been scared of, I would never have guess it would be It's a Small World that would do it. I hated being stuck on that one!

I love that picture, too! I couldn't believe how short the line was for that. I think maybe a lot of people didn't realize how cool of a picture it was.

We've always been second parade people. I had heard it was great, too.

That could be! Maybe Small World is loved only be little girls and is very traumatizing for little boys. Landon thought of trying to climb under the seat, too. :rotfl:

Aww the poor boys on Its a Small World! I'm sure it was awful in the moment, but I'm sure it is one of those parenting moments that is kinda funny in retrospect. I've heard of lots of kids being afraid of Snow White, Haunted Mansion, pirates and even Pooh but never Small World!

Small World is one of Everett's favorites, in fact we had a major meltdown last week because I dared walk by the attraction without getting in line. I'm such a mean Mommy!

We had the same issue asking CMs for help at MNSSHP, they had no idea where certain things were or what time. The step sisters came out and the CM assistant came out much later so we had to ask a fellow guest to take our picture, it was a little off in some areas like that, but overall such a fun party

Aww I love the ghost pictures, too cute!! :goodvibes

It is kind of funny after the fact. Not at all at the time, but it is certainly ironic that Small World is the one ride they're afraid of. I guess all those dancing singing dolls could be kind of creepy, if you think about it. :rotfl:

It's fun when they start getting their own favorite rides, but then not so fun when they get upset that we don't stop for it every single time. I admit, on our last trip, I took the long way around Fantasyland so I wouldn't have to deal with the boys wanting all their favorites.

It's odd that the CMs don't all know things about MNSSHP. I had assumed that they'd all know exactly where and when everything was. That's strange that the step sisters came out first without their assistant. You almost never see characters alone without another CM there. Still a fun party though!

Thanks!

The MNSSHP is just awesome! I'm glad the boys got to enjoy it. . .it truly is a great experience

I'm glad they got to enjoy it, too. I wasn't sure if they'd be okay for it, without those naps, but they had a fun night, especially Landon, since Carter slept through a lot of it.

Sounds like a great start to the evening and I love the photopass pics! Too cute!:goodvibes

We were having a lot of fun that night! Thanks, I love those pictures from the party. :)

Awww, I'm sorry y'all didn't really enjoy Hallowishes & MNSSHP.

I am glad you mentioned the Scream Along. I didn't know about that part & will probably steer clear of Main St to watch the fireworks.

I'm sorry you didn't like MNSSHP very much! :( I loved Hallowishes, but I also love the Haunted Mansion, and Nightmare Before Christmas is one of my favorite movies! :thumbsup2

However, I agree with you, I'm a Christmas person too, I love MVMCP so much, which is why when it came time to plan a Fall trip this year, we decided to do November again so we could do the end of F&W AND do MVMCP! :yay: I couldn't stand the thought of missing it another year! Halloween was fun, and October was a great time to go, but there's nothing better than Disney at Christmas! :santa:

It's too funny how two people can look at the same thing and each see something completely different. I absolutely LOVE HalloWishes. It's my favorite of all the fireworks shows, but I don't see it as being scary at all! It's too bad that MNSSHP wasn't really for you, but I can understand if you're not into Halloween. You do seem to be having a nice time with no wait for the rides anyway. Silly Carter should've stuck to the plan! You might've been able to enjoy more of the "party" aspects to MNSSHP. Hope the parade goes over a little better for you all!

Loved the photopass pics!

I'm sorry that Hallowishes was a disappointment! It just goes to show that Disney has something for everyone, I'm a little "meh" about Holidy Wishes, but LOVE Hallowishes (even though I do agree with you that Nightmare before Christmas is a little scary! :) ).

When we've seen it, no one screamed along for the scream along- maybe we should have been? :confused3 Well, you know how Disney guests are with listening to instructions

I'm glad to see you say that you like MVMCP a little better than MNSSHP. It seems like about every other opinion on the boards is strongly in the opposite direction. I've never been in the fall, so I don't have a fram of reference, but I enjoyed MVMCP. Seeing someone voice the opinion that MVMCP is better makes me feel like maybe I'm really not missing out. :lmao::rotfl2:

That is really a shame that they didn't enjoy IASW. Did they ever tell you what it was that they didn't like about it?:confused3 It sounds like you were on your way before they started getting upset. Maybe they'd just heard the song a few too many times. :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Great picture :thumbsup2

I so sorry that you didn't enjoy MNSSHP very much! I am also more of a Christmas person in general, so even though I've never been to either event, I can only assume I'd enjoy the Christmas party more too.

You're absolutely right, it's much easier to have an ally. ;)

Poor buddy sleeping through the party, maybe he'll learn to listen to his mommy :lmao:

Hi Kate,

Sorry I'm a little late joining in :confused3

Your boys are both adorable and I've really enjoyed reading all about your adventures.

It's a shame that MNSSHP isn't your cup of tea but at least you sort of had a good time. At least you know not to bother again for a few years.

My son, who is almost 6, loves the teacups nearly as much as Carter does!

As for him not having his nap, as Mother Gothel would say....Mother knows Best! ;)

I guess if there's something at Disney for everyone, that also means there's something not for everyone at Disney. Oh, well.

I was really glad we weren't on Main St for it, but maybe the fireworks are more impressive from that angle.

If I loved the Haunted Mansion and Nightmare Before Christmas, I'd love Hallowishes, too. Truthfully, I'm not too crazy about villains either. I always prefer the good guys.

MVMCP is the best! We didn't get to go last year, but I'm so going this year! I bet that time in November where you can do F&W and the MNSSHP is great. That'll be a fun trip. I can't decide between November and December. It's fun to go closer to Christmas, but November might have better weather. Would one trip a month be too excessive?

It's too funny how two people can look at the same thing and each see something completely different. I absolutely LOVE HalloWishes. It is funny. I know most people love Hallowishes and say it's the best fireworks show, but it just didn't suit me at all. I like only very specific elements of Halloween- the candy, the pumpkins, the fun costumes. I just don't like the other stuff. It was a lot of fun riding the rides with no wait and the decorations were kind of cool. Still a fun night. He really should have stuck to the plan! He would have had a lot of fun.

Thanks!
