Shut up, Stitch.
We pull our tired bodies out of bed, do the usually morning routine, and head to the monorail. We dont eat at the lounge, because we have a pre-park opening breakfast PS at CP. Why are we paying for breakfast when we can have Danish for free? Because one of DHs only requests for the trip was to eat at CP again this time around, thats why! Besides, I love their hash brown casserole. Nothing like greasy, fatty, starchy goodness to start the day! Anyway while waiting in line at the turnstiles, I think I heard the cutest thing all week. A British family was right behind us, and they had a little girl around 8 years old. They had that proper, formal type accent that you imagine the Royal Family has. The little girl said to her mother in that oh-so-proper British way I wunt to see inside of the Castle, Mummy! Kin we? Oh, it was adorable! Were next to go through, and we have our first encounter with the new bio-metric scan. Id warned DH, so he was ready, and so was I. I dont know why people have a problem with this, because not ONCE the whole time we were there did we have a single issue, delay, hitch, problem, or snafu with the finger scan. But we saw plenty of people who did. I dont get it.
Well, we check in to the CP for our PS and wait about 5 minutes until our name is called. But once we meet up with the hostess, she holds us back for another two minutes, chatting. The place is still empty, why doesnt she walk us to the table, I wonder? Finally, she says our table is ready and walks us over, and my question is answered. One of the other CMs had sprinkled Mickey confetti on the table in the shape of a heart, in honor of our honeymoon! How nice! We gourged ourselves at the buffet (two helpings of potatos, please! Hey, I had fruit too!) and meet with Pooh, Tigger, and Piglet, with our nice waiter taking pictures of the both of us together. He also got a VERY nice shot of the two of us alone at the table, and thats coming from someone that hates every picture shes in! Through the magic of digital cameras, I saw our picture right away, and tipped him extra for the trouble.
Advice to waiters, to increase your tips, take photography classes!
We leave CPs to find a MK photographer outside taking pictures of people (you know how just outside of CP there that great view of the Castle?). So we waited and got ours taken with the Castle in the background and got our Photopass for the trip all in one. By the time we were done with that, theyd done the rope drop so we headed to Tomorrowland and rode Space Mtn. and Buzz. Space was fun as always (always fun with a 5 minute wait!) and then walked on to Buzz. We were in on the ride, just at the part when you are in that tunnel with Zurgs space craft zipping around when the ride stopped. I turned to DH and said
You broke the ride!
I did not! I didnt do anything to the ride!
Yes you did, I saw you! You broke the ride
We kept that up until we started moving again. I beat the pants off him, I got about 100,000 more points than he did. Ha Ha!
After that, we wandered to Fantasyland and road Peter Pan, Small World (which DH loved, BTW!) and saw Mickeys Philharmagic. It was open when we went in Dec. 04 and on that trip we saw it about 5 times over 1 week. It was just as wonderful now as it was then. For me it was even better, since on my last trip I still wore eyeglasses, and having to put the 3D glasses over them was a pain and I never got the full 3D effect most of the time. Now, I had my contacts, and it was just SO much better. Most rides were better, actually, since anything high speed like Space, Splash, ToT, or RnR I had to take my eyeglasses off and everything was blurry. Now I could see crystal clear!
Lets see, what did we do after that? Hmmm oh yeah! Id heard tell of a cream cheese filled pretzel that you could get in Fantasyland, and I found the both they were sold at. I was hungry so I decided to try one. Over rated, IMO, the cream cheese didnt taste cream chessey at all. Only ate half and tossed the rest. Well, it will hold me to lunch, anyway so it wasnt a total waste. We wandered over to Frontierland and pulled a Fast Pass for Splash, then waited in line for BTMRR. This is something Ive always thought should be in the Unofficial Guide for those that choose not to follow the touring plans, especially on hot days. Pull the pass for Splash and wait for BTMRR, not the other way around. This is because the wait for BTMRR is so hot and humid most of the time, that its then a treat to just get off the ride, walk over to Splash, and saunter up to the front of the line. The ride then cools you off. I would only do the opposite if someone in your party cant handle waiting in the heat, then Id wait in line for Splash, which is all shaded and cool from the water, then you get off and have only a brief wait in the hot BTMRR line.
Well, we did it my way and Im glad we did, because by the time we got off of Splash, it was an 80 minute wait and the due back time for fast pass for either ride was after 4PM, so we hit the rides just in time. I was starving by this point, so I decided since Id never eaten there before, to try Pecos Bills for lunch, being nearby and all. Usually I eat lunch at Columbia Harbor House (yum!) but I wanted to break out of my routine and try something new. Plus I was hungry for a burger. Wow, I heard tell of the toppings bar but I didnt realize it was so extensive! Sautéed mushrooms! Yummy!
After lunch, we were both feeling tired. It had been a long couple of days, with the wedding and all. So we decided to ride POTC and then go back to GF for a nap. Yo ho Yo ho a Pirates life for me and we headed for the boat to GF. Love that boat! We crashed, and I mean CRASHED in the hotel for about 90 minutes, then I woke up and got DH going so we could get back to MK for our PS at Tonys. Good food! We had the fried goat cheese appetizer, I had the pork shank and DH had a pasta dish, I cant for the life of me remember which one though. The food was excellent, and the waitress was great! We finished in time to line up on Main Street for Spectro, and just chatted away at each other to pass the time. We had a perfect view, as it started on Main Street and we were on the right hand side of the street as you face the Castle. We had a un-blocked view as it came around the corner and I got a perfect video with my digital camera (which also takes video if you memory card is big enough). Then we stayed put and saw Wishes. But they didnt do the fireworks in 360, just the usual ones behind the Castle. Oh well, it was still wonderful. As the last firecracker went BOOM we turned and hightailed it back through the exit and made it to the dock just in time, we were the last let on the boat as it was full. The captain told those left on the dock that the next boat would be by in about 15 to 20 minutes. Very glad we didnt have to wait! Stopped by the SL lounge for some snacks and cordials before bed. No towel animals this trip, as I discovered when we got to our room, although my brushes were nicely laid out on a towel for me. Not that I cared about the animals, we had them in abundance on our trip to the Poly in 04. I just found it curious that we get them for a run-of-the-mill vacation and then didnt get them for our honeymoon. I guess its truly random after all!
