During our last trip to the fort and after a long day at the park, I went down to crocketts tavern in hopes to catch a cold one and the end of a ball game. I at least got the cold one but had to settle for Hanna Montana on the TV and the bar closing by 10. I got talking to a couple who was there for the same reasons as I was and we started talking about how great it would be if the fort turned one of the buildings facing clementines beach(which fits the part) into an old time saloon. God knows it would be nice to relax after a long day. The bartender got into the conversation and stated that she hears that from many guests. She believes Disney is trying more and more to get away from the adult scene items in which she thinks is one of Pleasure Islands demises. Anyways, It would be a great idea if Disney ever listened to our opinions. For now the transitor radio for a ball game and a styro coller with beer will have to do...lol:thumbsup2

I have some ideas on adult only places to get away to. One is Discovery Island in Bay Lake.

Unfortunately from what I have read / heard it is now and forever to be a nature preserve. To me its a perfect spot for honeymooners, childless couples, empty nesters, etc. Keep the secluded look from the water but develop the interior with small cabins or cottages. In the center could be an old time saloon that served snack foods similar to what Crocket's Tavern does. Of course a huge jacuzzi would also be a necessity to relax after a long day in the parks. Can you say AAAHHHHHH?

Yeah, that bummed us out too. I'd read when we first started staying at FW that Crocketts had an apps menus and it's own seating.... but when DH and I finally got a chance to try it out, we found food no longer available and only a handful of seats at the bar as all the other seats had been taken over by Trails End. Would be nice if they at least had kept that little corner for grown ups. :sad2:

We'd be all for a nice place to hang out with an adult beverage and maybe get a snack - and if it were with a view of the beach/lake, all the better!

I remember those days! We use to love going to Crockett's and getting a good meal and beverage.. Know days it nachos and a good drink:thumbsup2. It would be nice if they could get the bar with some appetizers to stay open later! Some of us are on different time zone lol!

Just found this post because we heard you could still get a drink at the bar at Crockets and wanted to confirm before our trip in February.

Sounds like they still haven't switched it back to its original glory, when it was 'separate' from Trail's End. :sad2:

When we first started camping there in the early 90's, CT had FREE APPETIZERS at the bar! Can you imagine???? In Disney??? FREE??? Of course, I think that only lasted a trip or two, then they did away with it. We went back every other year and enjoyed eating the chicken/cheese quesadillas and pizza, and getting fancy drinks served in small glass cowboy boots that you could keep and take home as a souvenir!!! We still have ours!! Only thing, there is no mention of Disney OR Crocketts on it, so its only worth 'memories' now... :sad1:

You can still get a drink at the bar and carry out type food. We decided to go over to Trail's End one night during our October stay and we did not have reservations and were told the wait would be an hour or more. We went to the bar, sat down ordered a couple beers and an order of nachos. We had a good time and I thought the nachos were pretty good. They really need someplace there that you can just walk in and get some type of food and drink without a reservation, similar to Roaring Forks at WL.

I think a deli would be nice, also. Someplace to get a good sandwich and also meat/salads by the pound to take back to the campers/cabins. Add an alcohol license and a few tv's showing the football/baseball games and all would be well.

I stay at the camper and kick back with a Kungaloosh or two. It can be whatever I want it to be.

OK, I am highly offended that you guys are getting off topic here. :confused3 The OP made NO mention of FOOD!!!! :cutie: There was mention of beer and sports. Stay on topic guys!! :teacher: :rotfl2:

And to Jim, Kungaloosh to you for keeping on topic. :goodvibes And now we all know where to go for a cold one. LOL
