An Invasion of a "STRANGER" Kind.... NEW THREAD IS UP!! Go Thee NOW!

I've decided to double a few of these up, as the resort sections, and following those, are pretty slim. In fact, I had a hard time coming up with 10 things to look for/do in my "Top 10" for each resort. I'm sure that can be remedied by all you experts out there!!!

Please let's give Minnie the enhancements she deserves by filling in the blanks to make sure she's a perfect 10 in all her sections. OK?

THANK YOU, CYNTHIA! for the following cover pages! (The flip sides were done by yours truly.)

The POP Cover:

The Top 10, which is sadly lacking volume:

The POLY Cover:

The POLY Top 10 (almost):

I love the fact, that in my meager supply of scrapbooking papers, I had just the right stuff for all the pages I needed!!! Isn't the POP paper groovy? and the POLY paper, tropically devine?? I just love the way they turned out!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! The POP cover is cool and Poly...well, that Minnie is so cute.

Hmm what is "Capture BGM"? Having stayed at POP a few times, this one has me very curious as to what I've missed!

Poly...be still my heart. Home away from home.

(p.s.thanks for the imput and understanding of my short hijack.:flower3: We would stay at BC, but right now they do not have an HC room to block...need one with handrails, otherwise full, but all are already blocked for our dates...so must switch resorts.:thumbsup2)

Hmmmm... then I'd have to say, if it were me, I'd go with CSR, or CBR. I guess. But I know you like the deluxes soooo.... Why not the contemp??

BGM is background music. I'm going to do an experiment and see if I can use my camera to get some of those wonderful tunes they play around the parks and resorts. I know the quality will be somewhat crappy, but a girl's gotta do....

Love the POP & Poly sections!

At POP.....

1) OK at POP you NEED to play twister! Even if you are the one spinning the 'spinner' for a family so they can play.

2)What about putting a stop at Petals on there?

3) Late night swim?

4)Find Mr. & Mrs. Potato head... you bringing TOP with you on this trip? Maybe he should meet his mommy & daddy! :lmao::lmao:

5) Take a walk on the generation gap bridge and get a picture of the building that is going to be destroyed soon. Who knows it might already be by the time you get there. :confused3

At Poly....

1) In the evening when you are decked out, get a PP pic in the lobby.

2) Take a spin on a searaycer?

3) Eat TONGA TOAST!!!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

4) Catch the Electric Water Pageant?

5) Relax in the Poly hottub?:laughing: :lmao::lmao: ( I crack myself up!)

I like CSR, CBR and CR ! I'm going to call later today to see which resort has as HC room available.

Getting off line now...MS is acting up...balance issue testing me this morning..... MS is acting up a bit.. walking like I'm tipsy when I don't drink! :upsidedow

Have a good one, friends, and thanks so much for helping with my little resort indecisiveness. :flower3:

Great suggestions and must dos!! Searaycers (in the old days known as Water Mice) are fun! Pontoon Boats are neat too - more expensive - we enjoy both.

EWP from the beach is a must!!

And a walk across Generation Gap Bridge is another must do - can't believe I didn't think of these!!

You're on a roll, and cracking me up too.

Yes, EWP is already on the official itinerary. So that's taken care of. I'll send you the Tonga Toast, Tim. Mmm... :scared: Since there's no jacuzzi at the Poly, I'll have to pffffftt. in the tub. :lmao:

Yes, Tate needs to see him Mommy and Daddy, Do you think they'll mind if he's rather androgenous?? :rotfl2:

OK, you totally need to let us know what you decide, Christine!! Really!

Take care of yourself- no falling, ok?

Searaycers not in budget. I also decided AGAINST the massage. THat's like my total drink budget. Soooooooooooo.... that's out.

Ok gen bridge too! Nice ones! Minnie is already more voluptuous!!

EWP.. I thought that was on your list.

I'll eat any Tonga Toast you send!

I know about the jacuzzi :rotfl2:... I remember the whole jacuzzi talk from your first thread! (I think it was the first thread:confused3)

I think being the 2010's, his parents are very open, caring and loving towards potato heads from all walks of life. I'm sure they and can handle a SHIM. (she/him) :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Just a quick Idea for your top 10.......Jump in the pool at night fully clothed! Its always been a tradition no matter where my family is....at least one night we all end up in the pool fully dressed! Just make sure you leave all electronic devices on the side!!!!!!!! I've made that mistake before!

I wanted to add a bit to Christine's hijack/resort dilemma: What about AKL? It has a similar exotic feel to it as the Poly and the lobby is very nicely decorated for Christmas.

On the Minnie pages: They are great as always. For POP I would add checkin out the decade displays in the lobby. I have seen pics of them and they look really intersting. BTW, I absolutely agree with your sentiment regarding the new resort. What a shame that they don't finish Pop CENTURY. Will it now be called Pop Half Century???

For the Poly if you were an early riser I would add an early morning swim: If you go there before people flock to the pool, the beach chairs are still all flat and you can swim with a view of the castle! :lovestruc

Otherwise what about a Dole Whip at the beach?

How sweet of you to jump in on my little hijack.:flower3: My friend suggested AKL as well...it is a good option...but it feels like a summer resort to me - crazy I know.

:rotfl:OMGosh!!! That is so funny...and true! Good thing I wasn't sipping my water when I read it! :rotfl:

Would you believe - my lemon of a Dell laptop may have hot the dust this morning. The frame around the screen has unattached itself on one side and it's coming part before my eyes!! Must find a very good, but inexpensive laptop with lots of power and room for pics etc. I am so not good at this sort of thing - clueless would be a good description. I only need it for saving photos, surfing, email etc. New day, new adventure .:thumbsup2

Great suggestions, Tim. Especially the hot tub. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Liesa, I've never had Tonga Toast either and I probably never will (don't LIKE bananas at all--this due to the fact that I had to eat one every single day I was pregnant with my youngest son...and that could explain why he is the way he is :rotfl: ).

The pages are great....I don't have the patience to sit and do something like that.

Kind of like Cher, I guess...;):lmao:

Hmm... that could be very interesting indeed! I could pull an It's a Wonderful Life. But I'll be drinking rum; I think they drank gin, if I recall correctly- well, if they disobeyed their father anyway. They must have, why else would be they be singing Buffalo Gals??

I like that idea best of all. AFter seeing this, it'd be my first choice!

Yes, those caught my eye too. Didn't I have them listed?? If not, I"ll certainly add them!!!

It just doesn't make sense to have this GREAT idea and not follow through. Ugh!

For the Poly if you were an early riser I would add an early morning swim: If you go there before people flock to the pool, the beach chairs are still all flat and you can swim with a view of the castle! :lovestruc

I do like that idea! A swim with a view... :cloud9:

Otherwise what about a Dole Whip at the beach?

That sounds nice too. Knowing me though, I"d drop it in the sand. :rotfl2:

Jacuzzi?? Did I hear someone say Jacuzzi?

:faint:

I don't think you want to get in my own special brand of jacuzzi! :rotfl:

How sweet of you to jump in on my little hijack.:flower3: My friend suggested AKL as well...it is a good option...but it feels like a summer resort to me - crazy I know.

Tweak your thinking!! It sounds lovely! At least go find some pix with the decorations, then decide for sure.

OH NO!!! Not a dying laptop!! Yikes! :scared1:

Great suggestions, Tim. Especially the hot tub. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Our high schoolers made a whirlpool one year in THailand by all running in the water one direction around the perimeter of the pool. THink I could recruit enough people to do this with me? :confused3:rotfl2:

THey gag me.

The pages were during the in between times. Like when my kids were on the computer. :lmao:

A brillilant idea and one I definitely think you should try. I bet you could get a bunch of oversugared kids to do it for you. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

THey gag me.

I have to hold my nose when I make banana bread for my husband and oldest son or make Mark "smoosh" the bananas.

OK, it's official. I'm really, really sad they probably won't finish the Legendary side, but scrap it for more self- promotion. Boo!

I was thinking the same thing. I had really been looking forward to the legendary years. I always feel such a draw to the 40's myself. Double Boo!

Liesa, may I invade your thread for a moment? Don't want to post this so publicly on the resort board...Because there are so many great folks here whose opinions I would count...would anyone like to offer an opinion, please? We had to switch from the Poly...went to BC, which I love during the holidays, but it's not that much of a savings....we've stayed at every resort except WL, OKW, CSR, AS.....any suggestions??? (Kathy, let me guess!! ;) ) Thanks!

...and Liesa, I promise not to keep any discussion going....just want to gather the suggestions...thank you!!

I'll get together a few pictures of the resorts I visited and post them for you. I have a bunch posted in my Ferb trip report so feel free to check those out. I still have a few resorts to go though. I personally liked the Epcot resorts the best, although the WL did feel the most traditionally Christmassy. I post some more thoughts when I post the pics. I just need to add a few shots to my photobucket account.

If it it for Christmas, and you plan to be at EPCOT for the storytelling and Candlelight Pr. I'd choose an EPCOT resort. Crissy (If U Had Wings) just posted her BWV photos from a recent stay and they looked so wonderful! I think she said though, that her favorite decorations were at Beach Club.

I wouldn't choose WL either, because I'm from the NOrthwest and see that cabin-y theme all the time. Although, I will admit, the decoations do look spectacular, you need to keep the entire theming packing in mind. At least I do.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it. ;)

I did love the Epcot ones, for both the decorations and convience. All were really pretty in their own way. The Poly was probably the least holiday themed though. They had the tree up, and were piping Christmas Hawiian music around the grounds, but that was about it. I think it really depends on what you like, and what your looking for.

Not sure if it's already been mentioned but at the Poly you gotta learn how to hula dance! And I know everyone has said this but....

EAT TONGA TOAST! :cheer2:

Working on tweaking as I type!!!! Excellent suggestion!

Maybe I've stayed in too many resorts?? Oh, what a terrible thing!:rotfl2:

If U Had Wings (every time I see your post that song never leaves me all day...but I like it!)

Thank you for offering to post pics - we've stayed at nearly every resort, summer and December - it's more finding one I'll enjoy with the holiday decorations and which has an HC room available to be blocked, Best is probably for me to call special needs again this afternoon and find out what exactly is available and go from there.

You all are the BEST!!!:flower3::hug:
