An Invasion of a "STRANGER" Kind.... NEW THREAD IS UP!! Go Thee NOW!

Bek was born on an Easter Sunday!! We had an egg hunt for her 2 year old brother (this was in 1993) in the hospital room- I'm fairly certain there were a few in the bathroom.... :rolleyes1:lmao:

Fun story! My youngest DS had his 25th birthday yesterday, Easter. I was in the hospital after having him on Easter - our oldest DS had Easter at home with Daddy. We were in a military hospital with a roommate, and he was only 19 mo old, so we didn't do an egg hunt.

Thanks for the update on Joseph - God is good. All the time.

Amen, Tammie. Amen!

Almost all of my kids were born either ON or within a couple days of a holiday- New Years, Father's and Mother's Day and Easter. Weird! I think it was my subconcious protest of not wanting to deal with the hype and prep! :rotfl2:

Thanks for the update on Joseph. It sounds like everything will be allright! I am happy to hear that.

Sounds like a lovely weekend! The soup sounds delicious. :goodvibes

Very scary picture of the medical care over there. :( Glad he's improving. :thumbsup2

Hey, I caught you online! :goodvibes Yep, sounds like he needs some good old fashioned rest and care. Istanbul's not such a bad place to get it!

It was! We had it 3 times this year. It would be like having 3 turkey dinners in 2 weeks around Thanksgiving. :cloud9:

I think Istanbul sounds like a good place to be for him! :thumbsup2 Turkey really is an interesting country. Parts of it (like Istanbul) are really very modern, but other parts aren't. There is a huge discussion wether Turkey should be allowed to become a member of the European Union one day. Those in favour say that this would be a way to set a great example how a muslim country can be western.

The soup does sound interesting and it is fun that you got it three times during your last spring in Blankistan. I guess there are some people who will miss your family... :goodvibes

We LOVED Istanbul!!! LOVED IT!! Even though my daughter was hit by a car there and her foot getting crushed, we still go to see a lot. The largest indoor bazaar in the world, the Blue Mosque, the carpet museum, the Hagia, lots of cafe's and EVEN THE HOSPITAL. The driver was SOOOOOOOOOOO nice, he took us to his home to meet his parents, and serve us juice, bought us lunch, a new pair of shoes for her- I mean it was Turkish hospitality to the max! My DH went diving at Galipoli,... ah it was just amazing!

Yes, I've heard about the EU debate, but I think they are still a little hesitant about the human rights issues. I recall that slaughter of 7(?) Christian literature printers was a bit of a set back. There was a German who was killed in that incident, if I recall.

Glad to hear that Joseph is doing better.....as good as could be hoped for I guess?

How are you doing on your Couch-to-5K training?

Hello folks!

Back at work and therefore back in the world of the modern internet!

I have lots of updating to do on my constant pre-trip report, but it may have to wait till later in the week. :)

I wanted to chime in about Istanbul and say that I loved my trip there! It was a mission trip and we saw God do some amazing things while we were there. I literally went underground to a church and the touristy things to see were also amazing! I went to that same Bazaar, Liesa!

Have you guys made your bucket list?

I discovered this website today...

http://www.barefootlist.com

Where you can research and create your bucket list. Istanbul had been on mine - so it was really cool to go there! :)

I think better than he might have fared in the local system. Which at that rate, might have been dead?

I JUST walked in the door from my "run". It is still hard. Still doing W1. Maybe the rest of this week. I must have mis-downloaded the podcast, cuz it poops out after the 2nd run. So I've had to resort to my stopwatch and other music-- OK, but not ideal. Corny as it sounds... I need that stranger to tell me I've done a good job, only one more, blah, blah, blah... I wish there was a Disney podcast for the C25K. I'd sure buy it!

I'd love to see your pictures someday!!! Bring them on your laptop to WDW!!

Wasn't that bazaar amazing!? The colors and pushy carpet sales guys?? Tea, anyone? :rotfl2::rotfl2:

NOPE, the only thing I can think about now, is getting through W1 of the C25K on a bucket list. :lmao::lmao:

Wonderful News about Joseph !!! Praise the Lord:worship:

A good friend and neighbor of ours also went thru a trampoline accident !! Ethan walked OFF one as if there was a path there :scared1: His arm was so badly injured when I saw it in the ER it looked like the elbow was backwards :scared1:It was AWFUL !! He was transported to a pediatric hospital for emergency surgery and made a full recovery !!So I too can attest to the dangers of trampolines !!!!

They sure seem to be more risk than they are worth to me. But, to each his own. As long as they take responsibility for them and the dangers they pose. We're just glag Joseph seems to be recovering nicely- will take time, but it's looking up!

Thanks for the update on Joseph, glad to hear he is doing better and had some help from above along the way. It is scary how different healthcare is in other parts of the world - definitely not what we are accustomed to here. Sometimes we don't realize how lucky we are. :goodvibes

What a lovely day you had!

Glad Joseph is on the mend... scary stuff.

Oh, and congrats on the promotions!!

Kathy

I noticed you didn't post any answers; and was wondering where you had gone to!
I hate it when the real world (i.e. work) intrudes on my Dis time! I missed a lot here the last couple weeks!

OPTION #1-

This plan will be deployed IF I end up not being able to swing a 2nd MNSSHP. Depends on the cash flow. I really hope I can, but if not here's the alternate plan:

9:00- RD at MK (This may be my only chance to see MK's RD)

9:00- 12:30- Tour MK; focusing on Main Street, ToonTown (if it's still there), the castle area, and photography

12:30- Head to EPCOT

1:00- ADR at R&C

2:30- 12:00 AM- Tour EPCOT (skipping Illuminations)

Dinner at either Cantina or Tangierine

If I get tired or worn out at WS, I may skip out early and head somewhere else. Want to keep the options open. DTD is an option, as is resort hopping.

I think I like this option better - an extra MNSSHP is definitely something I could cut out to improve the budget a bit.

Starbucks makes instant singles too now. :goodvibes

Wha????!!!! Can you get them at the Grocery store?

I'm sure people were storming the castle, rioting in the streets because they didn't know my scores....;)

I for one have completely boycotted the Dis until Liesa finally published them!;)

Liesa, Great news about Joseph! The power of prayer is amazing :cloud9:

You can totally hijack anytime!!!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: ON the Poly!!! I'm so stoked for you!! You'll have to post pictures!!

Thanks for the woo-hoo and the hijack!

HAPPY APRIL FOOL'S DAY!!!!

Wow! I bought in hook line and sinker!

Camille - we will have to PM each other as the dates get closer. I would love to say hello if it works out.

I am so glad to hear Joseph is doing okay but that medical situation is crazy!

Hoping to stay caught up this time!

It is very clear, from the way the circumstances played out, that there was help from above! Amazing circumstances! Having the underlying, constant stress of what would happen if one of us got hurt or really sick has taken it's toll on us. Living with a stress level that's just always above normal has made us tired and simply worn out.

What a lovely day you had!

Kathy

Hi Kathy! All was wonderful!

I am still thinking about the last update you posted on our spectrum kids--- it opened up a small window for a fresh round of grief, thinking about what might have been. It reminded me again, that Zach may always live with us, never be able to hold a technical job, or have a family. I love him just like he is, as you do Billy, but the grief is always somewhat there.

I"ve been wondering where ya've been! Things always clip along at a right smart pace around here. Lots to think about and share! ;)

I am so totally fine with this option!! I may not know the final #s for a while, in fact, this is a good reminder, that I DO need to sit down with a good old fashioned calculator and piece of paper and take a good hard look at things again!

Wha????!!!! Can you get them at the Grocery store?

Yes!!! DO TELL!

I for one have completely boycotted the Dis until Liesa finally published them!;)

I did! I did!! He got 4 points!!!
