An Invasion of a "STRANGER" Kind.... NEW THREAD IS UP!! Go Thee NOW!

Interesting list! :thumbsup2

I think you can get the Welsh Dragon at the pub without an ADR as well...

Katharina and I did the tea at the GF for her birthday and we both liked it a lot. I would definitely recommend doing that. If you get the high tea, it is actually quite a lot of food.

I had thought of that, but was thinking that sitting on the outside patio during Illum. would be nice. But then I'd feel obligated to get at least a little food, too.

I have my eye on the Prince Edward (at least I think it's Edward) tea. The one that comes with the port. Love me a smooth port with some pate!!

I'm ready for the game to start !! I will be guessing wildly for most but a couple I have an idea from past experience !!! We will see !! As for monarchy etc I am already the proud owner of the Title Duchess !!!:thumbsup2Does that give me anything higher than Private !!!!:rotfl2:

Okay, now exactly what is a Welsh Dragon, pray tell?

Are you doing Beaches and Cream just for the ice cream, or are you planning on a meal as well?

I've heard that the Trails End is a great value - kind of a hidden gem. Plus, don't you want to see the Fort again for old time's sake?

Liesa,
Don't forget to make the ADR for GF for 3 (Hubby agreed to us coming to the world a few days early) so I could join you two at High Tea. I am looking at the Prince Edward Tea as well mmm it looks so good :cool1:

On flight changes: I am a regular lurker on the transportation board, it seems flight changes are one of the most common questions asked over there. The really nasty ones are when they change you from a direct flight to a flight with a connection. The advice I picked up there (totally irrelevant to me since here in Europe flight times never really change much) is: keep checking your flight regularly to make sure that you don't miss any changes. Once you are aware of a change which you are unhappy with: research alternatives with your airline and then give them a call and ask to be rebooked on this alternative. It seems like it works for nearly everyone who at first is shocked that their direct flight has turned into a day long trip around North America.

Those are superb tips! Thanks for that! I guess I shouldnt' rely on them always notifying me by e-mail, and should check at least weekly. I would be very disappointed indeed, if they move my flight up more than an hour or so. I guess they don't always re-book their passengers on convenient routes. :confused3

The worst thing once happened to a friend of mine. When they changed her flight times she was supposed to arrive at the airport where she had to get a connection 30 minutes after the connecting plane would have departed... :scared1: And the airline told her that they couldn't do anything about it...

The airline MUST protect you on a connecting flight. They are responsible to get you from A to B if they change times. When it comes to flights, more often than not I recommend a TA. They're the best negotiators when it comes to flights ;)

The thing about flight changes is that if you know they're going to change, it's a bit easier to accept them. Great tips Flossbolna! Being a TA, I'm ALWAYS checking my flight times. I'm booked with AirTran in April on a non-stop. I read quite a few horror stories with AirTran and how they switch your from a non-stop to a connection. That would be the worst :headache: Just raises the chances of your luggage going astray. Not to mention delaying you from getting to your destination. I'll just keep my fingers crossed that our flights don't change too drastically!

Can't wait for this game to start! Great choices too. Beaches and Cream is amazing. Biergarten is great. I'm always meeting new people when I eat there. The food is yummy too :goodvibes

Why do you have 3 ADR days if ADR's are 180 + 10? It shouldn't matter that you are resort hopping after the first day of the first ressie....

other random thoughts.

Welsh Dragon. TOTALLY on my radar to try but just ordered from the pub. Jeff may have to carry me back to the YC after but that's ok...just all that greeness intrigues me. I'll probably hate it, I'm almost always disappointed with mixed drinks (too sweet) which is why I should just stick to beer and wine, but they are fun to try! I only branch out on vacation so what the heck.

Trails End. No idea how the current reviews are. When we went last year they were pretty horrible, I had considered eating there (and doing breakfast there) and truthfully it steered me away. Take that for what it's worth, which isn't much!

B&C doesn't' take ressies so that doesn't count for the ADR game! are you going for ice cream or the famous cheeseburger?

The plaza has been getting some great reviews lately, hasn't it! I do love me a good Rueben....

Again, a couple of fun reviews, and viola, a hankering for a big, fat Reuben! Yup, love me some kraut- don't worry Maroo, you will be gone by then, so only LeeAnn will have to deal with the consequences. I'll suggest she get one too- then we'll be even.
:scared1: I'm glad to know someone will carry on tradition.

Tomorrow is ADR day!!:woohoo: I'm so excited for you! I guess I sound like a Disney nerd when I say that?;)
Can't wait to hear what you score.
I would go with Brown Derby. I've read nothing but fantastic reviews. I can't wait to try the grapefruit cake. I think it is.

I think most will be guessing wildly, Rosie. Don't worry, just another inane way to pass the infernal waiting!

Duchess is a rather impressive title- I'd say several dozen ranks above Private.

Welsh Dragon: Peach schnapps, Melon liqueur, créme de Menthe, Orange Juice, and Pineapple Juice $6.25

Doesn't that sound divine?? There's one waiting with my name all over it!

We're getting the meal! The ONLY cheeseburger on my docket- Keep that in mind- it will come into play later... :rolleyes1;)

I DO want to see the Fort again! I LOVE the theming over there, and believe it or not, I still lurk on the camping board once in a while. Those folks are soooooo funny- and sometimes pay for it with points and infractions. :rolleyes1 The food is CONSISTENTLY getting REALLY bad reviews over there, and most of the Fort regulars won't even step foot into the place anymore.

Gotcha covered. Doesn't it look tasty?? More hearty than the other offerings- and I want to be full, so I won't have to eat twice again that night.

I guess I will keep checking just to be sure I haven't been shafted. Mine already connects through Atlanta, so now I'm hoping my luggge does make it!!! :scared1:

I'm pretty excited for Beaches and Cream- now if I can only decide if I want to get my dessert there or at Ghiradelli right afterwards.

From what I understand, it's a rare CM who will link your ressies if you have a split stay- some will do it some won't. And since one of ours is a switch to FD I'm just not sure. maroo will ask, but the Dining Boards are saying that it's likely they'll make you call back when your new reservation # starts. At least that's the way I understand it. :confused3

I won't have anyone to carry me, so I thought if I were sitting with some food and a table and sipped it over the hour I'm watching Illuminations (with some time before added) I'd be ok. That's me too- it's vacation, time to try some new fun things.

Terrible. That's why I think maroo isn't attracted by the food; must be that she wants to see the Fort. To be honest, I would almost eat there so I could have a chance to see the stables again. There is all kinds of fun info posted up about the horses, and the CM s are very fun and nice. Totally worth a trip over there!

B&C doesn't' take ressies so that doesn't count for the ADR game! are you going for ice cream or the famous cheeseburger?

You are right!! But I included it- hey maybe I"ll make that a bonus round, and have you all guess what TIME we're going there. That'll be fun.

The plaza has been getting some great reviews lately, hasn't it! I do love me a good Rueben....

Was it Heidi or Christine that went there in her Quest for the Perfect Cheeseburger?? It looked great! And Jen and LL went there and got Cheesesteaks that looked equally amazing. Seems like a good bed to me.

:scared1: I'm glad to know someone will carry on tradition.

You can count on me.:lmao:

Is it Tomorrow in Blankistan Yet!!!???:lmao:

NOT YET!

Brown Derby is almost always good especially that Cobb Salad.

Bring on the game...what is it?

I'll explain it one more time very soon! Game goes up in a few hours.

Tomorrow is ADR day!!:woohoo: I'm so excited for you! I guess I sound like a Disney nerd when I say that?;)

Me too, Mary should be actually calling in just a few hours!!! WOOHOO!!

Well it will either be that or the creme brulee. Can't decide!

Hmmn well I thought the 180+10 meant that at 180 days you could make them for up to 10 days out from your ressie start date, didn't know it was tied to your checkout date, it would seem you wouldn't need to link them if that was true (the 10, not the tied to the checkout part lol).

I have heard linking ressies is a problem

Just out of curiosity, why call when you can do it all online? FD shouldn't have anything to do with making your ressies, they don't ask unless it's a pre-pay situation like Hoop.

haha!! I love reading your posts! So funny and entertaining!!! Yay for 180 day mark!! woohoo!!

Thanks, Jennifer! It's a great day! One more milestone to tick off the fun chart!

I'll be calling maroo tonight (my time) and make sure she asks if they will link them together. From what I read a couple of months ago, it was about a 50/50 chance depending on which CM you got. I guess they were saying that if it's a new ressie number you had to wait until the beginning of that stay to count the 180 days.

I assumed that since we were going from room only, to room only, to FD, it would be even less likely they'd link them. But it's been a while since I've checked on the current trends. I'll do some some poking around tonight and see what's going on.

I have no idea whether she took her computer (I'm leaving this task up to her to do) or not to Disney. She's there right now as her 1/2 is on Sunday morning. I hope her blisters don't misbehave- I SO want her to be able to finish! Anyway, I wonder if she'd have more luck going tot he concierge desk at the Poly and seeing what they can do? Either way, she tells me it's really not a big problem to call or go online and do it. If I were trying to get CRT or Le Cel. or something like that, I'd be really worried, but most of what we're getting is pretty easy stuff.

Then again, I've been very wrong before. :rotfl2:
