An interesting change to Dumbo

I wonder what color Dumbo led to the fight that caused this change. :sad2:
We were there this weekend, and my two kids both said they wanted the blue Dumbo at the same time as we were getting in line. My response to anything they say they want is "You get what you get and you don't throw a fit". Then we got the numbers, and I said see some kid was fighting over it now no one gets what they want. lol

We rode Dumbo on 9/18 and this wasn't then case then. Definitely new in the past two weeks.

Perhaps they think this will load the ride faster. I think the difference will be minuscule. I'm not sure if all the CMs on this ride are intolerably slow and inefficient, but they were when we rode it. Getting CMs that actually care about an efficient loading and unloading process on the ride would do much more to reduce the wait times. Maybe fly over the WDW Dumbo CMs to teach the DLR Dumbo CMs. ;)

lol I was going to write something on here Sunday but we were go, go, go the whole trip so didn't get a chance to! You're exactly correct, OP.

I believe they said it started on Saturday, so we went on the second full implementation day. We were curious why the line was taking so long to get through. We got to talking to the CM and they were explaining why the ride changed over, but it seemed to not be working too well. Yes, the ticket corresponds to the assigned Dumbo number. If you are in a party needing more than a single Dumbo vehicle, you will get consecutive vehicles...in theory. People were/are still not going to the assigned vehicles and would also sometimes make a fuss about needing to go to a color that they did not want, so they took someone elses' that they did want and so on. In theory, it should make things go quicker and should stop people from running in order to get the most popular Dumbo vehicles but IMO, it's going to be too hard to enforce and eats up too much time. I feel bad for the CMs working the ride because it seems to be a hard thing to implement. I doubt it's going to last much longer.
