An Inconvenient Truth: happyhaunt Style! (New... pg. 113!)

FABULOUS! This is the best trip report! The Dumbo part, brought tears to my eyes! I"ll have to hurry and try it up, my office will wonder what I'm doing in my office!

No matter how much you make me laugh Mel, you always know how to bring things back to reality and into perspective. :goodvibes Thank you very much for adding that installment. Although I do not have children, I thank God everyday for my healthy family and friends. :grouphug:

Melly - I haven't checked in for awhile, but I have been reading all along.

You are cracking me up :rotfl: :rotfl:

Spikey poop and the song, well we have all been there. Sometimes without the kids :teeth:

This last installment.......... well to steal from Tink - Charlie Brown lips. Full snot. The real world isn't always everything it is cracked up to be. I will wait in the sun with you any day. :sunny:

Snif snif... what a great installment! Thanks for the reality check. And the warm sunnies........ :sunny:

Wow Me(l). First I LOL from Tommy's spikey poop then get reminded that we should all be thankful for just that from our wonderful, healthy kids. Thanks for the reminder that we should be grateful for every day.

Looking forward to the next installment.

And am I the only one that thinks the Sher looks like Eva LaRue from AMC?

Yes, and lets all pray Sher doesn't see this :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

That installment reminded me of a story I heard a while ago, goes something like this:

A group of about 20 people or so were sitting around in a circle, complaining about their misfortunes. Someone else overhears the group, and says that each person should write down their problems, then each person should place the paper in a hat in the middle of the circle. The hat is then passed around the group, with each person being able to trade their problem for another's problem. At the end of the round each person had taken their own problems out of the hat.

I guess we all go through times that are hard and we think the world is against us. That feeling seems to last until we see others' problems and realize we are actually very blessed.

Thanks, Mel, for helping me remember how fortunate I am. :grouphug:

Mel,

I have to thank you, not only for brightening :sunny: an otherwise poopy day with your sweet TR installment (yup- potty training 2 year old DS w/ an intestinal ailment-- SOOO not spikey)

but also...

for helping my DS 8 to embarrass HIMSELF (for once it wasn't me doing the embarrassing) in front of our new neighbors. He read part of your post over my shoulder, and was highly amused in that gross-boy way with Tommy's restroom antics.

We left the house for the grocery store w/ DS yelling "SUPER POOPER" at the top of his lungs. Until he realized that our new neighbors, and their very cute 3rd grade daughter were sitting out on their deck. And oh yes, they heard him! The giggling confirmed his suspiscions, and he promptly turned a shade of crimson that no red head boy should ever wear.

It's so much fun when the tables are turned...
:woohoo: :thumbsup2

Mel,
I am only on page 4 and you have already made me cry , but it is a good cry :) Between you and Horsegirl you truly are a down to earth person and we all know it and that is why we embrace you and your wonderful writing. Keep it up can't wait to finish this :cheer2:

I take care of those kids every day. I'm a pediatric onc nurse. I always tear up when we pass the fountain by Cinderella's castle where all the money thrown in goes to help these kids. I have had kids and families come home w/ such great memories from make-a-wish trips, it makes me love WDW even more and more. Thanks for sharing such a great story. And I know from personal experience that your response (to hug your kids extra) is exactly what these families would want. I really appreciate the laughs you share, thanks so much for your stories.

Now she's just teasing us... changing the post title and making us think there's a new post. :)

hmmm. Where is Mr. Silly?
He is tardy.
A slow poke.
I think all the boys are busy at work this week.
Because I don't see Zzub either.

Hi Zzub!!

Well. Mel. I must join the rest in thanking you for putting things into perspective. I, too, have a child with special needs, but am so thankful for the wonderful gift that he is. I love to read your reports. They keep my wanting. Keep my laughing. And every now and then, give me a really good reason for a healthy tear-up. I get to share the experience in about amonth with two of my three sisters. Grateful. Lucky. Thankful.

We are.

Keep it up girl. We love you. And I think I speak for all your readers...... :thanks:

Mel,

I have followed your trip report but been a bit of a lurker. But after your last post, I had to post. I recently returned from my trip with my wheelchair, trach, vent, and feeding tube. Disney makes you feel more "normal" then anywhere. Thanks for understanding. :goodvibes
