An impromptu DIS Meet!

I just began work last month as a Front Desk Manager for an Elizabeth Arden Spa. I've been bumping in to a lot of people that I haven't seen in years (old high school teachers, etc.). However, yesterday had to be the greatest surprise - two of our clients were KaraKW and her DH! We only had the opportunity to talk for a few minutes, but it was great to see them!

I was at the counter of my local Disney store with my wife when I mentioned the DVC Discount. The nice woman next to us said she was a DVC Member too... we talked a bit about the DVC when I mentioned "I read alot about Disney online on bulletin boards"... she asked which do I use... when I said the DIS, she told me she was DVCREG a moderator for the DVC boaord!!!!

I was so excited I jumped up and down!! she must have thought I was nuts! I new her name immediately we had Emailed info back and forth and shared threads many times... We chatted a bit on how much info people can get on the DIS and what a great resource it is.....

As my wife and I walked away I kept asking her: "Did I really jump up and down?" I felt like I met a celebrity! Not only a fellow DISer, but a Moderator, and one that I spoke to on the boards before... and right in my own back-yard (funny it was in a Disney Store).

That was a great experience, ... a little disney magic right at my local Disney Store!

The DIS is a magical little place, isn't it?!?!?!? Always nice to meet other folks from here. I have had the opportunity to meet everyone on this thread, Kara and her DH and DVCREG too, except Saffron and NandP. I have to work on that.

Knowing you, Dan, I'm sure it won't be long before you accomplish your goal of meeting Saffron and NandP.

You are 100% right, Dan, the DIS is a very magical place. You never know when a DIS meet will occur!

Kara called home yesterday and said, "You'll never believe who J.R. and I saw in the spa!!" I hadn't a clue!! Of course, she had to relate the whooooole story before she told me who it was!!!!! LOL!! What a neat surprise!!! I know it "made Kara's day!" The DIS definitely creates its own kind of magic!

Oh, I've met Dan too!! He definitely gets to a LOT of DIS Meets!!

This evening I stopped by a Trader Joe's grocery store (learned about this store here from Preshi, out in CA, whose DH works for TJ's) to pick up a few items. While there, I felt a tap on my shoulder. Figment and I (Helen and Candy) were shopping also.

And, to top off this whole story, guess who I bumped in to the day after the impromptu DIS meet? You guessed it - KaraKW again! Kara and her DH were staying at the hotel where the Spa is located, and I wasn't aware of it. So, it was great to see you twice, Kara! The next time you come down, please let me know, and that way I can be formally introduced to your DH!
