An Excellent FREE Downloadable Firewall

Quite by accedent I ran across this site Clnet. they rate and share Downloads among other things. But what I found so Interesting was a Page about Firewalls[my Db computer was Hacked,and it cost a bundle to rid it of the hacked stuff!!] After researching the varies Firewalls I decided to try ZoneAlarm 2.6 after reading all the Cons and a bunch of the Pros.

And I'm pleased to report that ZoneAlarm 2.6 is great!! I have used it for 3 months now with no problems!! It runs quietly only occaisionally asking who I want to access the net[who knew so many functions wanted to access the internet!!] This download is the full program and won't atop working after a week or two!! It is easy to open as it sits in the tool tray,and changing settings is a breeze.

I have no affiliations with ZoneAlarm 2.6,I just wanted to share how it's worked for me.

I agree this is a good one! We had our system hacked into last year when we were using BlackIce firewall protection. It appears that the hacker was able to get thru that with no problem. We have since been using other means to protect our system including a router box along with 2 other firewalls (including ZoneAlarm 2.6) & have had no other problems.

If you have DSL or a cable modem, you need to have some kind of firewall to be protected!

I believe the url is zdnet.com(sorry, can't link). At least, that's where I found vers. 2.6.
Haven't downloaded it yet.

Would like to know if it interferes with rewards program tracking - anyone know?

Sorry,I don't reward much since Freeride went down!! Still trying to clear out cookies from that!! Boy did they put a lot of junk on my compter! But I'm hoping that this firewall will stop that!!

I'm concerned that points will not be credited because the firewall interfered with
tracking my visits. Does that make sense? Does anyone know?
