ok, let's talk about something more upbeat.....

when my family cruised this summer, we had the band "Free Reign" on our cruise. I was checking some recent navigators and I saw a different band listed. My question is....is there a regular band or are they changed regularly? What are some recent bands who have performed on the ships?

Also, I noticed that Rich Purpura is a regular comedian on the ship. Does Disney have regular entertainers (comedians, etc.) or are they constantly changing?

Please share your favorite entertainers!

Thanks,
Jo:jester:

They do have a band of "regulars" who perform on both ships, along with new performers. :)

My FAVORITE is the Charles Marshall band, they are outstanding. They tend to perform more on the Wonder but have been on the Magic too.

Rich Purpura gets consistently high ratings and I'll admit I have never seen him; I may have to change that on the 12/7 cruise. :)

Great idea for a thread, Jo! :)

Thx Michelle....Rich Purpura is hysterical! I laughed my head off every time he performed (I was crying I was laughing so hard!)...he was great and had great cruiser jokes...definitely check him out next week!

We saw Rich P. on three of our cruises and even though some of the material was the same...his delivery is just too funny and we laughed again and again!!!

DCL also had a juggler on once, I can't remember his name but he was fantastic. He actually juggled everything INCLUDING A REAL KITCHEN SINK!!! All this while riding a unicycle!!!

The show was held in Rockin Bar D and it was kind of a hindrance to him as he could not throw things as high as he wanted due to the lower ceilings in the club.

WE have found most of the entertainment to be great. Some are better than other though!!!

The Charles Marshall band was on the Magic in November.:D

we were lucky enough to see David Morgan and Chuckie on both the Magic and Wonder..........very funny!

Gary DeLena seems to make fairly regular appearances on the Disney ships as well. Quite funny - especially if you are from New Jersey.

My FAVORITE is the Charles Marshall band, they are outstanding. They tend to perform more on the Wonder but have been on the Magic too.

Michelle - we saw lots of them last week. They were great!

The entertainment was a blast. DD got up on stage with Julie and Greg during Family Dueling Pianos and had so much fun. I've never seen her laugh so hard. Unfortunately, bc we chose late seating, we ended up too tired and stuffed after dinner to go out much to the adult shows. We absolutely have to go again bc I don't think we did 10% of what was available.

Thx all! Keep those great tips coming!!!

Yea, I hope Charles and crew are on the 12/7 cruise then! :)

And I will definitely make a point of seeing Rich Purpura this time too, thanks for the info! :)

A few weeks ago I was talking with the keyboardist from Free Reign on the Wonder. I got the impression from him that his group and the Charles Marshall band currently rotate between the two ships. I am not sure how often.

I highly recommend the evening programs. The entertainers warm up the crowd and then people usually stay around for the theme nights. Free Reign was a really nice group. Hope we get to meet the other group next cruise.....

MJ...did you say you are going in January? I'm alittle jealous!

Any special Christmas entertainment activities on the Magic this week?

I would also like to know if any of the theme nights had a holiday twist to them??? Maybe some holiday questions for Match Your Mate!!!

Joanne, yes, we are going again....what started out as a mother daugher get away has escalated to a group of 16!!!! Which is really fine, the more the merrier!!! Hubby really need to get away so this will be great for him. He knows the ship so well he doesn't have to think....he will be on auto pilot!!! Since my whole family is now g oing I told the kids that the cruise would be their main Christmas present.....they said sure!!! Shopping was much easier this year after all!!!

Hey MJ, I think I "blew" a couple thousand on Christmas gifts this year by the time I was finished......what a great idea.....no shopping and a Disney cruise instead.........have a wonderful time and update us on the entertainment, please!!!
