An end to developers points?

Yes, you can bank your add-on points into next UY. Don't know what your current UY is, but I believe Disney treats add-on contracts where they waive the banking rules and give you some additional time to bank points. Disney QA called me last night about my contract and said they would waive banking rules out to my closing date on my contract, so they give you time to bank and allow 100% during that time. My contract was a new member contract, but I've read that they allow the same on add-ons.

You can not bank your double developer points.

While purchasing a 100 pt add-on today, I asked my guide about the next promotion. It seems that (what she is hearing) they will eliminate the developer points but keep the discount. So, really no change other than losing the developer points. She does not think they will change the discount amount. However, she did state that we can always re-write the contract in the event that things change and the promo ends up better.

Is your guide postive about this? We want to take the tour in when we get there but with these incentives, it seems like a good reason to buy now. I just have to convince DH it's a good idea for us. I wish we joined in 2002 when we thought about it. We have been back to Disney pretty much yearly and stay deluxe. It would have paid for itself by now . I like the idea of the extra points but the discount might be better for us.

There seems to be a good bit chatter that the DDpoints will go away Aug 31. If you are sure you want to buy do it now if the DD points are very important to you. You have the choice of cash discount instead of the points & I don't think there is any indication of that going away.
