May I ask where the $$ to move is going to come from to find this great "area" of job opportunity? And I have no mortgage to be foreclosed on, we took care of that ASAP. Totally paid off. Yes, I have a $6,00 credit card balance from medical bills from an unplanned pregnancy (yes, I was on birth control so blame God for that little mishap), we have health insurance, pay 95% of al bills on time and in full every month. DH and I have 2 cars, both of them used but reliable paid off with no car payment. Never drink Starbucks, very rarely eat out, no LCD TV's here (a $110 bought at
WalMart with $$ I earned from a 2nd job), no cable, dial up Internet (only because I have to have it for school and extra part time work typing term papers occasionally), I shop at the Goodwill, consignment stores, or clearance racks only, use coupons and haven't had a haircut in a year. I've cut back as much as possible. But I have to struggle to buy groceries every month. If you've been able to move, go to school and make a better life for yourself to where you can be financially stable then good for you. But like many things, moving, getting a college education, letting your home get foreclosed is not always as clear as black and white.
When you're doing all you can to get by AND improve your life to be more financially stable what then??? Not buy groceries...and I'm sorry you can move to ALaska for a better job opportunity but there's no guarantee that if you save up the $$ to make the move that that job will last. And then what...you're away from family and friends and in a worse situation than before. I'm sorry but it's not always so easy to impove your life or yourself. And whay worked for you doesn't or won't necessarily work for everyone. Maybe we'll have to agree to disagree because I'm proud of the fact that I do work, am trying to make a better life for my family and that some people still dont' "get it". It's not easy, it's hard as H***, and I am trying my best to be in "your" shoes but until then I'll be voting for Obama and glad that I'm getting a little help. Trust me, I'd rather have the $250,00+ income and taxes to complain about. (Not trying to be snarky toward anyone)
Oh, and remember these people who are helping you children achieve their dreams or financial freedom (teacher) are some of these "working class" who will benefit from these tax cuts. As will the policemen who keep you safe, the fireman, the person who prepares your food at your favorite restaurant, the machanic who fixes your car, and all those other people who do all the things that you don't need a college education for. Do you know how many people at the fast food restaurant I work with that have a college education ? There are 3 but because of the economy can't find work in their field.
And the WDW trip in my ticker....isn't going to happen due to the economy right now. DH and I are putting it toward the previously mentioned cc bill and putting it toward my college tuition. Before anyone decides to point out that I'm a hypocrite. Just haven't taken it down yet..maybe I can pull a rabbit out of the hat and salvage it.
