An EHarmony reject - I'm so ashamed!-UPDATED with the profile

Great, now I have to go try it because I know I'll be rejected too.

I met my Dh 6 years ago on AOL personals. I had tried match.com and cupid.com and while I had met some very nice guys that piqued my interest, the moment I met Dh I was a goner. I dunno why. He's very tall, very goofy, very opinionated, very intelligent and very arrogant. He's also very affectionate, very kind, very hardworking and very loyal. I'll take him. He ain't much but he's mine :rotfl:

Get outta town! Matt and I met on AOL personals 7 years ago! I actually met quite a few nice guys and dated 3 of them quite a few times until I decided to take Matt home on a trial basis ;) .

Ok, just for grins and giggles I tried it too. Apparently there are lots of men just dying to meet me...for a price :rolleyes2 Isn't that illegal everywhere but Nevada?

You know you are gonna make me try it now. Can I blame it on you when Matt sees me and says "What the hell are you doing??"

Cool! I've got a whole pile o guys just waitin' for me! :teeth: :lmao:

Good grief, answering all those questions took FOR-EV-ER.

Now... who to call.. Mark? Derek? David?

Oh geez.. Matthew is going to KILL me! :rotfl:

I tried eharmony a few years ago. I met a lot of nice guys, but none that I wanted any more than friendship with. Honestly, I have enough friends (although there is always room for more) and I was on eharmony because I wanted something more. Im actually still friends with a few of them. Nice guys, just nothing sparked.

Now, I have a friend who was totally oppsed to dating and meeting guys. She was pretty much resigned to the fact that she was just wanting to be single the rest of her life. I convinced her that dating can be fun and to just meet someone. So she signed up for eharmony in Aug. She had her first date from someone she matched with over Labor day weekend. And their wedding will be this July. So it can work.

But I have to agree, its slow going trying to get all those questions answered and going through the stages. Other sites are easier and better. Plus, its nice to look at the pics and see who you are attracted to. You may match, but if the attraction isn't there, no go.

I also got the "no way are you going to find anybody on this site" (or however they phrase it) message when I filled out the profile last year.

Well it didn't tell me I was rejected but it can't find me a single match. :lmao:

Oh how funny! Our lives are parallel in so many ways it's scary! If we looked even remotely alike I'd say we were seperated at birth. :thumbsup2

Geez, Bruce would have a coronary if he knew I'd signed up there even if it was just to take the quiz. I won't tell if you won't!

Hey, don't be stealing my men! They are anxious to meet me and they are willing to pay to do so! At least that's what eHarmony says.

You got Mark, David, Derek, Randy and Michael too?

I feel so... unspecial. :rotfl:

I would say skip e-harm and try one of the other ones. I met my girlfriend through yahoo personals and we are both very very happy that we found each other, so it does work.

I met my DH on loveaccess...so I swear by that one! ;)

meeting online can work...but like the old saying goes, you have to kiss A LOT of toads... :teeth:

Ok - Sunday I decided to bite the bullet and try E Harmony. I knew someone who met his wife there and they really liked the whole experience. I log in and fill out questions for about 25 minutes only to get.....

Unfortunately, we are not able to make our profiles work for you. Our matching model could not accurately predict with whom you would be best matched. This occurs for about 20% of potential users, so 1 in 5 people simply will not benefit from our service. We hope that you understand, and we regret our inability to provide service for you at this time. "

....yup! I'm too weird for them. I swear I never mentioned Disney once!

Has anyone else ever tried them?

Before this, I had never heard of one of the pay sites not being able to match at least someone who is a member... with a new person. At least they were honest I guess and didn't try to just match you with up with someone not so compatible to make a buck.
And I hope they didn't try and charge you to get a profile and then refuse you or fail in matching you up with someone because they couldn't match someone unique. :(

Have you ever heard of plentyoffish.com ?
(Plenty of Fish) has a lot of members, with a wide range of ages and interests... US and Canada-wide....
and it's free.
Always. :)

I dated someone I met on eharmony. He turned out to be less than worthy. ;) My friend met her boyfriend on eharmony and they are very happy together and planning on getting married. So what works for some doesn't work for others.

I met my boyfriend on myspace (actually, we went to high school together 10 years ago, but just got reacquainted on myspace) and it was free. :goodvibes

I know someone who met her fiance on match.com and someone else who met her boyfriend on plentyoffish. So there are lots of sites out there to choose from. :)

Imagine my shock when I got an email last night saying they found some matches for me. I don't know though...

I was a paid member for a month and was communicating with one guy who closed communication when I told him I was not thin. So, I quit. I went back last week to see what was going on and had a lot of matches but I don't want to pay to communicate with them. I don't know, I think it's a huge commitment when it comes to money.

Sounds like there are some sites I might try. Back when I tried match.com I had just lost TONS of weight and felt good enough to put my photo up right away. I'm gonna need more pixels now....... ;) :teeth:

What really sparked my interest in this is I came into a little money ( just enough ) and want to take a vacation. My friends dumped me. I used to travel with 8 people - we went somewhere every other year. I really miss it. When my niece is better I will take her to WDW. But she is not well, maybe in 2007?

Hmm, no matches for me either.

Good thing I have DH, lol.

Sorry to hear that it didn't work out, but like the others said, there's plenty of other online matchmaking sites to go around. I met my fiance on www.mingles.com 3 1/2 yrs. ago. I was a free member, he wasn't, so he e-mailed me first & the rest is history. Me & Kenny are planning on getting married in a couple of years, probably in Disney. :teeth:

The moral of the story is: never give up hope, there's always somebody for everybody
