Does anyone know of a relatively easy way to search for hotels in Ocean City that are oceanfront and on the boardwalk? There are plenty of websites that list hotels but it seems to be so time consuming to click on every single one to see where it's located and how far from the beach it is.

I wish there was a site that would list hotels in groupings, like oceanfront hotels that are directly on the boardwalk, oceanfront hotels beyond the boardwalk, hotels bay side, etc.

Is there anything even remotely like this somewhere on the internet?

TIA

I googled Ocean City, MD and found this. Looks like it would help.
Interesting. I've been googling stuff all over the place but I must be clicking on all the wrong ones! Thanks, I'll check it out. If anyone else has any additional info, let me know and I'll check those out too!

Just got back from OC on Tuesday. Caught the tail end of senior week and the beginning of the firemen. Had a great time. Checked out of the Quality Inn Oceanfront as soon as I saw it. Filthy. We ended up at the Commander on 14th and the Boardwalk. Good staff that was very accomodating.
The Holiday Inn on 17th and the boardwalk has roomy suites with cooking facilities. It has an indoor pool and an oceanfront pool. Rooms are more like small condos than rooms.
We stayed in a Navigators Suite at the Commander. Nice room with a good view. Had a fridge, sink and microwave but no stove. Pool is not oceanfront but they serve good cheap bloody's and mimosas in the morning. Nicely maintained property.
I also like the Hilton Suites at 32nd Street. Not right on boards but great facility. I may have to go back to the Hilton or Holiday Inn next time because I know what to expect and they are nice hotels. The Commander is a good option just not as modern. A lot of the boardwalk hotels are older and most are a little run down. They also charge top dollar. I have heard good things about the Howard Johnson's on the boardwalk as a less expensive option. Let me know if you have any other questions. Try PGN's on 29th for the most awesome crabs in the world!!!

Here's what I always use..but to be honest with you, I have rarely stayed at a motel directly on the Boardwalk that I liked:confused3 They are usually really noisy

The Hilton and the Holiday Inn Suites are over $400 per night in the summer. To me that is just ridiculous. I mean, come ON, its Ocean City, not Manhattan! :sad2: I'm so glad we decided to invest in a beach house in North Ocean City, those prices for what you get are just out of the average family's budget imo.

That said, before we bought our place, I always used the search that Breezy Carol linked. Its nice because you can specifically narrow it down to exactly what you are looking for.

When we stayed at the Commander this past week it was $205/night. The Holiday Inn was $265 for Sunday night and $205 for Monday. The disgusting Quality Inn was $179/night. I agree that the Hilton is expensive. But for a larger family that wanted to do breakfast and dinner in the hotel a couple of nights it might be worth it. I stayed there last year during their opening week so I got a price break. I chose not to stay there this year because of the price. I would have stayed at the Holiday Inn but the only room they had was on the 10th floor and DH does not like heights.
I like being on the boards (of course I am an idiot who takes getaway trips to places just like where I am from...DUH!) Ocean City hotels get top dollar just like the places here on the Jersey shore. By the time you pay for a week you could go on a cruise or to an all inclusive or even WDW (he he). For a couple of nights I would pay the money...if I was staying longer I would check into condo's.

One of the reasons we started going to Disney was the outrageous price of OC rooms during the summer (any excuse is a good excuse to go to Disney). We also could never find places to eat that we just had to go back to every trip... We also like to drive down to Disney and stop by Daytona for a few days of ocean fun. Which Quality Inn was so dirty?

Google Earth will show you satellite images taken from space & label the hotels. You'll be able to see where they are located & click on them to go to their website.

I never go to OC, MD anymore because of the prices and the stupid 3-night minimums. So, for me, it is now day trips.

It's ridiciulous when I can fly to Orland and stay in a hotel, cheaper than I can for a week in OC.:sad2:

Thanks for the great advice everyone! It's very helpful. :flower3:

Slightly OT, but Can anyone tell me about the Flamingo Hotel in OCMD?

I always hear alot of people visit OC from my area every year. Sometimes I think the whole city is there except us. Never been there. I have done research on it but it seems so much more expensive then WDW(but no one believes that). How is Park Place or Paradise Plaza? Maybe one year we will try it

I think this site is not really complete but definitely can choose by location.

www.ococean.com

Go to accomodations, then choose "location", then pick "boardwalk".

I agree with those who say it's ridiculously expensive. Hubby & I have gone in early October and it's nice to get away then w/o crowds and outrageous costs, but the tradeoff is weather temps.

It's an older hotel close to the boardwalk. It wouldn't be my top 20 places to stay in town.
