Ok so I'm working on a good title for the trip.. but I still have 181 days to figure that out.:hourglass

First I'll introduce myself. I'm Erin, 24 from Melbourne Australia. I have wanted to visit WDW and other parts of the USA for as long as I can remember... and finally this year the dream is coming true. :cool1:  I'll be travelling with one of my best friends Tayissa (or Tay as we all call her!) also 24. I should mention at this point that Tay has been to WDW before when she was about 7 years old i think, however I have not, nor have I even been to the USA before. I thought I would start wirting this now as an added way to help countdown to our trip and the fact that Sept hours have just been realised has given me more of a chance to do some planning on what days to do what!

It all started about 6 weeks ago.. Tay and I FINALLY decide to take the plunge and bok into a trip to the USA. She has been working full time in a "real job" for about a year now, and for me after a rough year last year, have just started in a new job so we decided we needed a break. As we were going a little :stir:

We have decided on 3 weeks in total in the USA. In September of this year... Why September you ask? Or you don't? Well I'm going to tell you anyways... Basically it was a process of elimination.. we didn't want to be there during the USA summer, and wanted some time to save a bit of money. So Sept it is. We were a little concerend about hurricanes in Orlando at that time, but after consulting the DIS:disrocks: (who else!!) we have decided we should be ok.

We'll be arriving in LA, staying for two nights, to New York for 4 nights, Then we are flying down to Orlando for 10 nights. (More on this later)
And finally our trip will end with 3 nights in Las Vegas.

So you wanna hear more about the WDW/Orlando part, I hear you all ask!

Well, as I said we'll be there for 10 nights, arriving on Friday 14th of Sept (thou this will be a late evening arrival) departing on 24th of Sept (not sure of time year but prolly mid to late morning). It should give us 9 full days We plan on 4 days at the disney parks, MK, EPCOT, MGM and AK, two days at US and IOA, a day at Seaworld, and a day at the Kennedy space centre. For those of you playing along at home, yes thats already at least 8 days worth of stuff, Plus we'd like to do MNSSHP, spend some time at DTD, and PI :drinking1 and if we have time check out some factory outlet malls/stores. Yes we realise thats alot of stuff to pack into 10 days but you only live once right! Plus we figure we can spread going to DTD over a few nights, same goes for PI.

I've had a look at the park hours for our days and I'm in a bit of a dilema on whether to take advantage of EMH (evenings mostly we are not morning ppl) or not... We don't plan on getting park hoppers, as we are more likley to spend the whole day in the parks, and if we looking for a rest more likely to sit down and have an ice cream or cool drink, :mickeybar :drinking1 than spend time going back and forth to the resort.

We will most likely be staying on site, at either POP, Coronado Springs, or Carribean Beach, and what we decide will pretty much be on cost, thou i reaslie Pop will be the least expensive, if we can get a good deal at either of the mod' then we'll stay there. We've come toe the conclusion that we'll prolly be in the room to do no more than sleep and shower, so we figure if can spend a little less on the the accom we can spend a little more else where!

So what we we booked so far? So far we've only booked our Melb-LA-Melb tickets and have our travel agent looking into the other internal flights for us, and I've been looking for them as well. I've also order our US tickets on the $86US dollar 2-day-2park-7 day unlimited admission deal they ahve at the moment, I figured it was too good a deal to miss and was scared thy woudn't have it if i waited too long too book it...
Other than that we are waiting to hear back from the travel agent for eventhing she's been looking into for us.

I'll keep you all posted on our progress and thanks for reading!!

To update, we went to the travel agent today, and book all our accomodation, for the whole trip.

We are going to stay at Pop for the 10 nights. I had to laugh when we were booking it we were offered airport transfers for $46 (Aust) each and I had to convince the Travel Agent that Disney has a service they do for free called Magical Express. Which brings me to this question.. If we haven't booked our accomodation thru Disney but we are staying at an on-site resort, how do I book the DME? Can anyone help?

Also are there any other Aussies out there that are happy to tell me approx they've paid for Accom at Pop or the other Value resorts, (you can PM me if you want) I just want to ensure we aren't getting ripped off!
