I can't get the web address to my newspaper to work.

Years ago, my doctor recommended this for me. It didn't feel right and I disregarded her advice. Looks like I was right.

I thought that was an apple a day keeps the doctor away.

So let me get this right. You went to a physician with 4 years of Medical School and a minimum of 3 years of residency and then X number of years of experience and you disregarded her advice based on a feeling?

Well I don't know what the article says but I take an aspirin every day since December 28, 2009 on the advice of my cardiologist who is one of the highest rated in the Houston area which is known for outstanding heart care. I will trust his advice until he tells me different.

What do you mean it didn't "feel right"? :confused3 Had you read a conflicting article, or heard something about possible side effects?

If I took an aspirin a day, I would BE at the doctors every day - LOL.. I have a past history of bleeding ulcers - which quite possibly could have been caused by all the products I used to take that contained aspirin..

Can't tell you how thrilled I was when Alka Seltzer came out with their "Gold" formula - that is aspirin free..:thumbsup2

I cannot handle Aspirin, but I can tolerate Alka Seltzer so I take those ONCE a day!:thumbsup2

Certainly if you have uclers or other bleeding disorders, you shouldn't take aspirin.
You shouldn't take Ginger either with those conditions.

The article refers to people with bleeding disorders, if you don't have them, then the aspirin is probably a good idea to reduce heart attack and stroke risk if you are over 50.
I know when I donate blood they sure can tell a difference.

If you're doing it once a day, I would really switch over to the Gold formula.. I don't even think there's a difference in cost..:goodvibes

I take an aspirin a day. Started doing it after my heart attack, under the advice of my Dr of course. I would suspect if you had a bleeding problem or ulcers and such then the Dr wouldn't recommend it for you.

And I always knew it as an apple a day too.

They make Enteric coated aspirin for people with ulcers or other stomach problems.
