After Aria's nap it was time to head to EPCOT. Now, originally we had our 2nd Kids Nite Out scheduled for this evening, since we had the fabulous ticketed F&W event 3D Dessert Discovery Party which culminated with a 3D fireworks viewing. The tickets were around $60 (I don't remember exactly) and it was not sold out. When we realized that we did NOT want to use KNO again, I cancelled with them (they offered to send someone else, but I didn't want to risk it) and bought Aria a ticket after making sure strollers would be allowed inside.
Anyway, so we decided to spend the afternoon at EPCOT before the party!
Started off here of course!!
And I bent down and held up Aria so that Andrew and Aria could be in their future together this time, but once again they took my picture with Aria's! LOL!
Andrew appreciated my attempt though!
Then we did a quick stop at Club Cool, where I couldn't get Andrew to fall for the Beverly trick again!
Awful picture but shows that we are heading around the WS visiting countries. We are excited for our upcomnig Holland/Germany/Belgium trip and one big purchase I hope to make is for a cuckoo clock. The ones at the Germany pavilion are beautiful though!
Our goal? The wine grotto! Yes I do believe we were the only ones with a child (let alone a baby) but we found a couch and decided to split a wine tasting for fun. Aria was anxious to play, and luckily the couple nearby had a grandson around her age so they were excited to chat about the kids.
For our upcoming trip, I am hoping to hand off Aria to her grandparents for a short while and pop back in for a relaxing bit of time to enjoy it a little more.
Then Aria got a little bit loud for the quiet ambiance so while Andrew paid I took her outside to let off some steam. It's going to be so different now that she is running around!
We need to work on pulling down her dress for pics...
So, sad thing here...I was SO SO excited to see Monchichi's years ago at Disney. I had these grand plans to buy my kids monchichis every time we visited Disney - they used to have cute outfits and back in 2010 I believe, they probably had 30+ different ones to choose from. After having Aria it was my goal to start collecting them. We got to the Japan pavilion and saw that the selection had really been reduced, but I still found a babychichi to get her. Fast forward to December - they didn't have any new ones. THEN in March I said that I will just pick out a plain one anyway, and their whole monchichi section was gone! Replaced with a boy and girl giant monchichis and nothing else. SO SAD!! So there went my idea of collecting one for her every trip.
I'm saving Aria's first pearl opening for when she is 3 or so, when she will be excited to do it.
After a little more shopping, I parked the stroller at the back of the Morocco pavilion and nursed Aria and put her in a little jumper outfit which would hopefully be a bit cooler than regular pajamas. It took her a while to fall asleep but we did it early enough that it worked and she did fall asleep in the stroller in time for our event!
We arrived at the 3D event a bit early. When we went to check in, I gave them all three names - the lady checking us in was incredulous that we had to buy Aria a ticket - so much so that she called over her manager and asked if we could be refunded the ticket! We gave our confirmation number and she said she would see what she could do. That was the last we heard of it, but a few days later I saw a credit to the credit card! YAY! So we ended up saving $$ and got to keep Aria with us for the night.
Anyway once checked in, we waited for about 15 minutes in a VERY crowded room. That was exactly why I was so hoping for the Sweet Seats tickets where you have a reserved table and get in early - none of the madness that was about to ensue just to find a table!
You can see the people lined up at the curtain? They were getting ready to RUN to catch a table.
The plus side to Andrew not doing any research for the trip...he was BLOWN AWAY reading what all would be at the party. He could NOT get over the fact that all food and drinks were included! ahaha. So he was very excited to get in to the party.
Anyway, so we made a mad dash with the stroller (and Aria still sleeping) and caught a table at the same time as another couple. We decided to share, and ended up having a really wonderful evening chatting with them and eating fun munchies and drinking...a lot...
I ran up first and stopped at the nearest station for some doughnuts, a watermelon popcicle and a watermelon eclair thing.
Andrew got a plateful of goodies and some wine for both of us -
And we periodically traded off heading up for more. Lines weren't too bad except at the "savory" station, which Andrew waited in but I never did.
