An Anniversary Trip Full of Favorites-May 2012 PTR!*TR Link 5/14 & Question 5/15 p32*

It's such a great feeling to know that you're going to Disney next month! Of course, it's kind of hard sometimes, because about a month out is right when I start thinking of things to do to get ready, but it seems too soon still, so I end up putting it all off until about a week before we leave. :rotfl:

I think doing whatever you feel like on vacation is a great plan. :thumbsup2

Woohoo on it being one month until you are back at Disney!!! :cool1:

Yay at eating at Le Celier on day 4 - riding Soarin and having a refreshing slushie afterwards sounds like a great plan!

I just got caught up on your day 3 and 4 plans - they look great! I love the pictures you're using. They make me want to be in Disney right now so badly!

I just joined WW a few weeks ago myself. I've lost a couple pounds so far, but I just can't seem to get motivated to really go all out lately. :confused3

:banana::banana: Almost time for Mickey Mail!!!:banana::banana:

OK, here is one of the best tips that has popped up on the BC/YC FAQ board:

Use a refillable mug for your Grey Goose or Grand Marnier Slushie!

Those little plastic martini cups are just ridiculous! Too much chance of spillage.

If you bring along a refill mug, or other travel mug, transfer your drink into that, pop in a straw and you are good to go!!! Slightly insulated, so it will keep it cooler too.

I can't believe we're going next month! I can't wait! I just realized I can start buying toiletries and stuff, I won't let myself do that until we're a month away, and we are! I can start making packing lists, maybe make a small trip binder...yay!!! :thumbsup2

I'm so excited to just do whatever on this trip, I'm really looking forward to being at the parks, but also just relaxing!

28 days!!!

I can't wait to eat at Le Cellier! I actually have an ADR for there on our arrival day too, but I have to cancel it because we're doing Cape May for dinner and that would just be too much in one day! :rotfl: I can't bring myself to cancel it though!

Thanks! I try to find really pretty Disney pictures for PTR's, they always get me so excited for my trip! I want to be there right now too! Well, maybe not now...maybe after the crowds die down a little!

I did awful with WW this past week. I'm not even going to weigh myself. I just got the Zumba DVD's that they always have on TV so I'm going to try those. Of course, now that I want to exercise, I have a cold, but maybe by Monday I'll feel ok to start!

I know, I've been stalking my mailbox!!! Hopefully today!

That's a great idea, using a mug for a slushie! I have to admit, I do kind of like the plastic cups, just because they're cute, but the mug is a good idea to transport one back to SAB maybe!

Makes no difference who you are
Anything your heart desires

Departure Day and Other Thoughts

So I'm starting to freak out a little about this trip. I feel like I haven't planned it out very well at all and I'm kind of mad at myself. I'm staying at the BEACH CLUB and I feel like there is just not enough Epcot time planned. And I'm also annoyed that it's such a short trip. I mean, there's nothing we can do about that, Brandon only has 3 vacation days so that's all we can use until July, but it's annoying, I wish his job would just let him take unpaid days, but I guess that's frowned upon or something. :confused3 :sad2:

I don't know what to do about this problem, I don't want to make a strict schedule we have to follow, but at the same time, I need to be at Epcot more than I'm thinking we are going to be there. I'm sure it will all work out when we are there and I'm just getting my pre-trip jitters that I always get, I just really wish I had one more day to work with!

In other news, I was doing really good with Weight Watchers when I started it 2 weeks ago, I lost 1.5 pounds in the first week, and that was without exercise. Then I was doing good last week, and I forgot to weigh myself Friday morning...then I ate whatever I wanted on Friday, so I figured there's now way I'm weighing myself Saturday, so I'm just skipping a weigh in this week! I guess my dream of losing 20 pounds by my trip is out the window. Maybe I can lose 10 if I'm lucky. Ughhhhhh.

Plans for Departure Day:

(I can't believe I'm up to our last day already, didn't I just start this PTR?!)

Well, originally, I was planning for us to sleep in a little, pack, and then go to breakfast at Cape May

BeachClubBreakfast1.jpg

and then spend the day at Epcot until we had to leave for the airport. (Our flight home isn't until 8 pm so we have until around 5 to be in the parks.)

But now, with my Epcot dilemma, I'm thinking I might just use one of the mornings I had planned for another park and go to Epcot and do something different on departure day. I was thinking of possibly doing Animal Kingdom after Cape May, just to do a few of our favorites like EE and the Safari:

and then going over to MK for the afternoon and ending our day there. It would be nice to be there in the afternoon, we could finally catch the parade, which I have never seen

CDCTP_998.jpg

and do a few of our favorite attractions there. But I don't know. We are so used to ending our trips at Epcot it might be weird not to.

But then if we do end at Epcot, where am I going to fit Animal Kingdom in? I was thinking of skipping it all together. And never mind AK, where are we going to fit DTD??

See, I know I could get all of these problems worked out if I made us a schedule and didn't give us so much resort/pool time, but I don't want to go crazy on this trip, I want to relax and it's starting to stress me out!!! I feel like once I get there i'm just going to want to go, go, go and then I'll be mad at myself for not relaxing and taking advantage of being at the Beach Club!

So who knows what's going to happen when we get there? I guess we'll just do whatever we want on whatever day. Maybe I'll make a list of priorities for other parks that I want to do (like rope drop at DHS!) and then if we have free time, we spend it at Epcot. I'd like to fit in AK and DTD but if we don't, we don't! I'm feeling like such an awful planner right now, I feel like when we get there I'm going to have a panic attack at the lack of plans! I hope I can get everything sorted out before then or I'm going to drive myself insane!

26 Days til Disney! Oh yeah, I got ::MickeyMo MICKEY MAIL::MickeyMo the other day!! They changed the luggage tags again!

I don't think you're an awful planner at all! I think that you go often enough, you can take a more relaxed approach to this anniversary trip. I always like the idea of leaving the last day open to do the things you wake up and want to do!

I think it's a great idea to have a looser schedule this time, as well as plan for more pool time and Epcot time. It's okay to skip other stuff in favor of this, there is always next time for those!

I know exactly what you are going through- my May trip is shorter than what I usually take, and I was worrying about fitting everything in...
but remember- you will be back! Instead of rushing through a bunch of stuff to 'say you did it', thoroughly enjoy what you do get to. And I bet you're right- it'll all end up working out great once you're there!

Girl, you still have 25 or 26 days, right? You can totally lose some weight! Get it get it! I'm rooting for you! :cheer2:

You're not a bad planner! Who knows, it might be nice to switch it up a little! If it were me though, I'd be so upset if I missed out on Animal Kingdom altogether! Basically though, don't stress out about it! You've still got a good amount of time to make everything work the way you want it to. :goodvibes

Jen, I think you should leave the plans as you got. You can always add extra time at Epcot on yur next visit.

I think your plans sound great as they are. I also think most people freak out at the last minute and second guess their whole schedule, lol.

Just because you are staying right next to Epcot doesn't mean you have to spend extra time there. Just enjoy your resort, and relax and have fun. Sounds like you have a perfect trip planned.

Oh, and remember ... there is always next time :wizard:

Yep, this sounds like good ole' fashioned pre-trip jitters to me! I'm sure your trip will be amazing, and it will all work out in the end. You know you're never going to ignore your Epcot, and I'm sure you will find time to enjoy staying at Beach Club too!

That being said, 26 DAYS?! Holy macaroni, that's less than four weeks! I can't believe it! I'm so excited for you! :woohoo:

Don't be stressed out!!! I'm sure you guys are going to have a wonderful, relaxing, and Epcot-filled time! Personally, for a shorter trip, I would definitely consider skipping AK and DTD in favor of more Beach Club/Epcot time.

A short trip would be hard to plan, that's for sure. I'm sorry you're feeling stressed! Just relax, it's Disney! It has to be good! (But I get the pre-trip jitters too, I know that it's easier said than done!)
I always make solid plans for where we should go and when, then I never follow them when I'm in Disney. We go where we feel like going and do what we feel like doing. I'm sure you're going to have a wonderful trip!

I think you're just getting panicked because you normally plan plan plan, but this trip you're not and that's what freaking you out.
I bet that when you get there and realize how relaxing a time you want and will have you will be just fine :)

Remember, you might go back in the fall, so then you can plan plan plan! LOL
So take this trip as a restful and relaxing trip! You both deserve a relaxing trip :)

Taking a short trip always means having to cut time off somewhere, but I'm sure you will get it worked out.

In the end, you and Brandon are going to do what you feel like doing at the time. If you're not in an AK mood at all during the trip, then you don't go there. Sure, you might look back later on and go, "It kinda stinks that we missed Everest this go round," but then you'll think about how much Epcot time you got and be all right. :thumbsup2 Really, when it comes to short WDW trips, you have to keep in mind that you'll be returning at a later date and can hit up some popular spots then.

awe :( I feel so bad that you can't add another day or two to your trip! But that's coming from me - the person who lives so far away that I can only go once every 2- 4 years so for me it feels AWEFUL to have to skip something. If your going to be back again before long then I would suggest you go ahead and skip out on a park of your choice to help make it a more managable trip with lots of time to relax and enjoy Epcot :goodvibes

I hear ya on the weightloss too. I always gain about 5lb on a WDW trip b/c of pigging out so I was trying to get down 10 lb. 5 to make me happy and the other 5 b/c i KNOW i will gain it back on the trip. but it can be so hard and frustrating!!! I lost the first 5 after months and then lost 1 more, then gained it back, then lost 2 and have since gained them back b/c of Easter :scared1: So I'm back at my original 5 lost and just feel like I'm STUCK there!!! Easter is over now though so maybe without all the family meals and chocolates around it'll be more managable. We can do this right??? We'll do it together! I only have 2 weeks and 2 days left so I'll have to work hard to get those 5 off fast too.

I agree with what the others have said... you've got a great plan, don't stress! This trip is all about your favorites, and for your anniversary... if you don't get a chance to do something, just know it's there for you next time. :thumbsup2

And you've still got 25 days to lose a few pounds! Even though you might not make your initial goal of losing 20 lbs before your trip, every pound counts, right? You can do it! :goodvibes
