An Anniversary Trip Full of Favorites-May 2012 PTR!*TR Link 5/14 & Question 5/15 p32*

bummer about him saying BC!!! guys hey??

I know what you mean about certain foods in certain parks too. lol. For me it's Dole Whip at MK, and a funnel cake sundae at Islands of Adventure - JUST BECAUSE that's the first place we ever got them :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 that's ok though - tradition is good ;)

Where do you get the turkey leg at DHS? and how much do they cost. We always see people eating them but have never tried one and DH thinks he should try one this time.

Good luck with the weight loss - this time it's going to work :) :)

Aww, I can't believe he actually guessed Beach Club! Hmm, maybe this will work in your favor somehow!

Good luck doing weight watchers! I'm sure you'll do great!

I think your day sounds awesome. HOORAY FOR 40 days! That's nothing! :cool1:

Congrats on being paid in full (I'm a little behind... :rolleyes1)

All your plans really seem to be coming together and I'm jealous! We were considering hopping over to WDW during this time to see Flower & Garden but it's just not going to work out. I must live vicariously through the DIS! :rotfl:

Stormalong Bay sounds so nice! Especially the sand-bottomed part. Honestly, I'd probably give in and tell because - as much as I love secrets, letting the cat out of the bag is my favorite part. And I just can't wait!

I've never had a Dole Whip either. I really want to try the citrus swirl they just reintroduced. It sounds sooo much better! I'm not a big pineapple fan.

Awww I'm sorry that Brandon guessed the Beach Club! That's absolutely something DBF would do too!

I still have never ever tasted a Turkey Leg...I feel like I'm missing something pivotal about Disney here! :rotfl:

I can't believe Brandon guessed BC! Is it possible he found out somehow? Is he ever on the Dis? :confused3 :rotfl: I hope you can pull off a surprise anyway, or barring that, convince him to use ME!

Best of luck with your weight loss!

I like the Day 3 plans, however unsure they might be. That's the beauty of Disney, no matter what you decide and when you decide it, it's always fun!

WOO HOO for 40 days! (although actually I think it's 39 now!):banana::banana:

That's a bummer about him guessing Beach Club....oh well, if you do tell him you will now be able to chat about ME vs a rental....
then you can try to really suprise him on your NEXT trip!!!

So Brandon already knows it's the BC before you told him? :rotfl2: I think you guys should start looking for a small DVC contract there since that's your resort of choice.

I hear ya on the rental car prices. There is a wendy's code floating around for June for Budget. I'm not sure what it is and I can't look right now, but I know its on the transportation board. It may also be good for May. Not sure if that will help but a small SUV is $201 for the week. There are compact choices as well. I used the code, but my extra three days make it $300. Yikes! I don't even want an SUV because I don't want to pay for the gas. Why doesn't anyone rent Hondas? :rotfl: Maybe Brandon will just go with ME since you have a great location.

Plans look great but I can't see pics now!

I don't know, am I allowed to do that? Just walk through a line and find Brandon? What if someone thinks I'm some line cutter and blocks me? :scared1: I would cry...Maybe I'll make him get the FP's and I'll get in the standby line!

If ONE person is walking through the line to meet up with someone saving a spot, I don't care. What I hate is when ONE person saves a spot and then 12 people walk through the line to join in. I've never seen anyone get yelled at or anything for doing it :confused3 I think this is one of those situations where it depends on the persons etiquette! If you're one person and you're nice, then no one cares...if your 568 people and you're being obnoxious about cutting in, then people complain. I would say see how you feel when you get there.

I actually really like your morning plan for Day 3! It's exciting to almost NOT have a plan...just get up in the morning and go where the feeling takes you!

And I'm sorry but I laughed audibly at your conversation with Brandon about the resort! All of the secret planning to surprise him and he automatically assumes the correct resort. I would just tell him and that way you can convince him to take DME. It's SO convenient and it's FREE!

ETA: I forgot two things!

congrats on joining WW again! Don't feel bad though...I started on 2/20 and have only lost 2lbs so far! It's really depressing but I'm not letting myself get discouraged! Last week, I only lost 2 ounces but it was a LOSS so I'll take it!

And I totally know what you mean about eating the Turkey Leg in DHS! You can get mint chocolate chip ice cream cones in any park but I just HAVE to have it DHS from Hollywood Scoops! I got it from the Main Street Ice Cream Shop in MK on our last trip and while it was, of course, delicious...it just wasn't the same as eating it in DHS!

DHS at night is so much fun, probably because of all the thrill rides. :confused3

I like that your morning plans are open, gives you a chance to decide what you're in the mood for the morning of. Sometimes that can be better than having every single detail planned out.

YAY! Day 3 plans!

Haha that's really frustrating about Brandon assuming you were staying at BC! I'm sorry it messed up your surprise, but maybe he'll be so happy that he will automatically agree to ME! :thumbsup2

Those plans look wonderful, by the way! No matter where you decided to go in the morning I'm sure you'll have a blast! I still have never eaten at Mama Melrose's! We tend to neglect Italian restaurants at Disney for some reason!

Okay so I'm too lazy to go back and find the direct quote, but I wanted to comment about whether or not it was okay to cut in line to meet Brandon. Here's my perspective: I've seen people do that literally dozens and dozens of times and it's never bothered me. It seems totally fine. However, on our trip last June John got in line with me at TSM and this dude FLIPPED OUT. It's where I got the "classy" part of my title, in fact. He was like super spastic about it and acted like it was the end of the world. I never expected someone to have a problem with it until that guy, so now I'm not so sure! :confused3

Plans look good!

Just to add to the talk about one of you joining the other in line at TSM, I've always been the Fast Pass person and I've never had to walk through the queue to meet DH. Sometimes, he's still been in the part of the line that extends past the queue area (down the street) and other times he's been in the outdoor queue area and stopped (letting people pass, if necessary) right by the chain that you can open (close to the entrance). He's just opened the chain and let me in. Nobody has had an issue with it any of the times we've done that.

What great plans for your first couple of days.

Your morning at HS sounds divine, from an early ride on TSM, to cupcakes for breakfast, to expressing some creativity at AA followed by a couple of heart-pumping thrill rides!

:thumbsup2 for a fun afternoon at SAB!

Dinner at California Grill sounds wonderful, followed by late night MK hijinks!

Fantastic day!

Not having definitive plans the next day (same day?) is good idea- you can go where you feel like going.

Ugh, bummer about Brandon taking the fun out of the surprise! Though it may be a blessing in disguise, if you can convince him not to rent a car.

Aww! I'm sorry Brandon guessed BC!

Your day 3 plans sound wonderful, though to me, any plans involving WDW would be wonderful right now :) LOL

Never eaten a Turkey leg.... that picture is making my mouth water though! Something for the bucket list! LOL

Hey Everyone! Just so you know, I told Brandon that we're staying at the Beach Club. He's actually really excited to stay there, so that's nice! I mentioned using ME to him, but he's not very receptive. Honestly, with all the running around we do, and last minute plan changing, we're probably just better off, I don't feel like spending half of my trip waiting for buses! I'm still not sure what to do!

i know what you mean about planning a shorter trip... this one coming up is my first shorter than a week. I'm trying not to plan long nights, since I know we'll want to be up early to maximize our time in the parks!

I can't help but to plan long nights, I LOVE magic hours! Brandon hates them! :rotfl: I just can't give them up! I read people's TR's about how they go to the parks all day, then they have dinner and that's it for the night and it sounds so nice! But I don't know if I can do that ever! Maybe on a longer trip! :rotfl:

I should appreciate DHS at night more, that last picture looks really beautiful!

I know EXACTLY what you mean about having a certain food item in a certain park. I'm that way about Mickey ice cream bars in DHS. I'll get them at another park but I just  eating one in DHS!

I love DHS at night!

I really have to try a Mickey ice cream bar someday! They just seem so magical, but I always skip them for something else...probably a turkey leg!

:woohoo: for only 40 days.

Plans for Day 3 sound great.

38 days now! :woohoo: Thanks!

bummer about him saying BC!!! guys hey??

I know what you mean about certain foods in certain parks too. lol. For me it's Dole Whip at MK, and a funnel cake sundae at Islands of Adventure - JUST BECAUSE that's the first place we ever got them :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 that's ok though - tradition is good

Good luck with the weight loss - this time it's going to work :) :)

Yeah, it figures he would just assume it was the Beach Club! I'm actually surprised he didn't say the Wilderness Lodge first, but I think he knows I'd rather be there in the Fall or Winter.

OMG a funnel cake sundae? That sounds fantastic! :yay:

You get the turkey leg at the Toluca Turkey Legs counter on Sunset, on the way down to the Tower of Terror! They're kind of expensive, like $10, but they are SO worth it! They're huge!!

Thank you, I hope so! :thumbsup2

Aww, I can't believe he actually guessed Beach Club! Hmm, maybe this will work in your favor somehow!

Good luck doing weight watchers! I'm sure you'll do great!

I think your day sounds awesome. HOORAY FOR 40 days! That's nothing! :cool1:

Eh, well, I just told him the next day. There was no point in dragging it out if he already guessed, you know? At least he's really excited about it, he asked if we could just go right now instead of waiting until May, so that's a good sign! :rotfl:

Thanks, I'm hoping! :woohoo:

38 days! Almost a month away now! :dance3:

Congrats on being paid in full (I'm a little behind... :rolleyes1)

All your plans really seem to be coming together and I'm jealous! We were considering hopping over to WDW during this time to see Flower & Garden but it's just not going to work out. I must live vicariously through the DIS! :rotfl:

I've never had a Dole Whip either. I really want to try the citrus swirl they just reintroduced. It sounds sooo much better! I'm not a big pineapple fan.

Haha, that's ok!

Awww, I hate thinking you might be getting to go to Disney and then realizing it won't work out! I have this idea in my head that we're going in the Fall, but I have no clue if that is actually happening, but right now, in my mind, it is!

Stormalong Bay is nice! They're closing parts of it for 2 weeks in April, so I'm HOPING it's all finished when we are there, because the last time we went, part of it was closed too! :sad2: I did just tell him, because what was the point of not telling him once he guessed? I'm a horrible liar anyway, I'm sure he knew once I said no!

Dole Whips are good, but the citrus swirls are much better! I want to try the new one too, the only one I have had is the one with the fake orange ice cream! I like pineapple, but I feel like a float would be too much...still I want to try one! :cool1:

Awww I'm sorry that Brandon guessed the Beach Club! That's absolutely something DBF would do too!

I still have never ever tasted a Turkey Leg...I feel like I'm missing something pivotal about Disney here! :rotfl:

Haha, yeah, it figures! I almost wish I could have Brandon book a trip just ONE time, and surprise me with where we were staying, I'd LOVE that!

Turkey legs are SO good! There is just something about a Disney turkey leg...I don't want to even think about what they do to them to make them so big, I'm sure they're full of hormones! But I only eat one once, maybe twice a year, so it's ok right?

I can't believe Brandon guessed BC! Is it possible he found out somehow? Is he ever on the Dis? :confused3 :rotfl: I hope you can pull off a surprise anyway, or barring that, convince him to use ME!

Best of luck with your weight loss!

WOO HOO for 40 days! (although actually I think it's 39 now!):banana::banana:

Haha, no, he's never on the DIS! I'm sure he just guessed because that's where we stayed on our Disneymoon and he knows I'm obsessed with it and want to stay there again!

Thank you! :goodvibes

I like leaving things kind of up in the air with plans, we change things around so much anyway, we can't really stick to a strict schedule!

That's a bummer about him guessing Beach Club....oh well, if you do tell him you will now be able to chat about ME vs a rental....
then you can try to really suprise him on your NEXT trip!!!

It's ok, I was thinking of telling him anyway so now it's just out in the open! I'm still up in the air about ME...I want to do it, but I also want a car! Can I do both? :rotfl:

So Brandon already knows it's the BC before you told him? :rotfl2: I think you guys should start looking for a small DVC contract there since that's your resort of choice.

I hear ya on the rental car prices. There is a wendy's code floating around for June for Budget. I'm not sure what it is and I can't look right now, but I know its on the transportation board. It may also be good for May. Not sure if that will help but a small SUV is $201 for the week. There are compact choices as well. I used the code, but my extra three days make it $300. Yikes! Plans look great but I can't see pics now!

I would love a small DVC contract! I wouldn't even know how to go about that, though! I'm not really sure Brandon would be ok with that, we do kind of say every year that we're going to take a break from Disney...:rolleyes1

I will look into that Budget code, thanks! I like Alamo because if you rent through Costco you get the free additional driver, but I wouldn't mind trying something else if it was cheaper! I hope the prices drop soon!

I got it from the Main Street Ice Cream Shop in MK on our last trip and while it was, of course, delicious...it just wasn't the same as eating it in DHS!

I don't know, I'd feel really strange walking through a line, even if I am just one person and I'm nice about it! I'd rather Brandon be the one walking through the line, he won't care if people get mad at him!

Thanks, sometimes it's nice not really having any plans! I'd rather just plan my ADR's and assume i'm going to whatever park has evening magic hours and that's it! I like to keep things open! :cool1:

I did tell him, and he's not really interested in ME. I want to do ME, but I don't want to do the buses! So I guess as of now, we're doing the car thing. :yay:

I feel like I've already done horribly on my first WW week. I'm supposed to weigh myself on Friday, but I might wait til Saturday. I didn't eat horribly, but I didn't track everything and that kills me. I just felt like I was starving all week. And I had no motivation to exercise. Ughhhh. Congrats on your 2 ounce loss, at least it's something! :dance3:

Haha, that's so strange that everyone has their things that they HAVE to eat in a certain park! I love Disney!

DHS at night is so much fun, probably because of all the thrill rides. :confused3

I like that your morning plans are open, gives you a chance to decide what you're in the mood for the morning of. Sometimes that can be better than having every single detail planned out.

I love DHS at night! I love it all lit up...and yeah, there's the thrill rides, those are always fun!

I like not having definite plans for the morning either! I might even push back our DHS morning, but I'm not sure...maybe we'll just go wherever on each morning and see how that works out!

YAY! Day 3 plans!

Haha that's really frustrating about Brandon assuming you were staying at BC! I'm sorry it messed up your surprise, but maybe he'll be so happy that he will automatically agree to ME! :thumbsup2

Thanks! You have never eaten at Mama Melrose's? It's so good! And it's so cute inside! You should give it a try someday, if you can skip Sci Fi on one DHS days! :rotfl2:

Ugh, see? That's why I don't want to walk through a line and meet up with Brandon! If someone flipped out on my like that at Disney, I would either cry or flip out right back! And I don't want to do that at Disney! :rotfl: I think if we ever tried that, I'd have to get in line, and he could come find me, because if someone yelled at Brandon, he would handle it a lot better than I would!

Plans look good!

Just to add to the talk about one of you joining the other in line at TSM, I've always been the Fast Pass person and I've never had to walk through the queue to meet DH. He's just opened the chain and let me in. Nobody has had an issue with it any of the times we've done that.

Thanks! That's good to know! I might give that a try, but I'd just be so nervous the whole time...I'm sure other people do it, though, right? We'll see, I'm not a big rule breaker at Disney World! :rotfl2:

What great plans for your first couple of days.

Your morning at HS sounds divine, from an early ride on TSM, to cupcakes for breakfast, to expressing some creativity at AA followed by a couple of heart-pumping thrill rides!

Fantastic day!

Not having definitive plans the next day (same day?) is good idea- you can go where you feel like going.

Thanks!

I hope we can get on TSM early! I can't wait to have a Disney cupcake again!! :lovestruc

I also can't wait to hang out at Stormalong Bay for hours! I'm so looking forward to using that pool again!

I love not planning every little detail out, it's nice to be able to go wherever you feel like some days!

Ugh, bummer about Brandon taking the fun out of the surprise! Though it may be a blessing in disguise, if you can convince him not to rent a car.

Haha, yeah, it figures he would just guess the Beach Club! :rotfl: I don't know what to do about the car situation...my problem would be solved if the prices would just drop!

Aww! I'm sorry Brandon guessed BC!

Your day 3 plans sound wonderful, though to me, any plans involving WDW would be wonderful right now :) LOL

Never eaten a Turkey leg.... that picture is making my mouth water though! Something for the bucket list! LOL

That's ok, I was planning to tell him soon anyway! :thumbsup2

Thanks! Disney turkey legs are the best! It's not like you can walk around in real life, gnawing on some giant smoked turkey leg, but it's perfectly acceptable in Disney World! :woohoo:

Oh my goodness! I can't believe that Brandon guessed Beach Club! Oh well, maybe you should just confess up and see if he's game for using ME and not have to spend the $$ for the rental car!

I LOVE all the parks at night---something about them is just magical during the evenings! :)

I'm glad Brandon is excited about the Beach Club. It's got to bet nice to be able to talk about it and not try to keep it a secret any more.

It is kind of exciting to wake up and go wherever you feel like sometimes. Sometimes, we like to play the bus game and take the first bus that comes along. As long as we're at Disney, it doesn't matter much where we go! :rotfl:

One more thought on line-cutting...

Back around the time Splash Mountain opened ('92?) I remember the lines were awful--as you'd expect for a new ride. While waiting with my parents, a girl that was my age (12ish) came through the line saying, "excuse me...mom?...sorry....mom?" Everyone let her by because she was obviously just trying to catch up with her family. After what seemed like an hour later, that same girl passed us all in the line again...

I remember feeling a mix of mad and whydidn'tithinkofthat?!? Unfortunately, that technique probably wouldn't work for me at this point :rotfl:
