An Anniversary Trip Deluxe Dining Report... Updated 7/11

Congratulations to you and Hunter on your 5th anniversary! DH and I will celebrate our 10th anniversary on July 3rd,:lovestruc Loving your reviews can’t wait to read more. Thanks for taking the time to share.

That entire meal looks divine :cloud9:

I'm contemplating trying to fit Artists Point into our next vacation but I'd have to give up Cali Grill or Flying Fish. Hmmmmmm... planning for Disney World is so hard!

Oh dear... decisions decisions... I loved Artist Point but also thought Cali grill was wonderful... On a side note I think they have the same bread ;)

I have not been to flying fish (stayed away because of hubby's seafood allergy) so I cannot advise there but I do know that when/if we go back we will be going to both Artist Point and Cali Grill again!

Two of the best servers at PTC, IMO, are Cousin Mark and Cousin Tom. They are so in character and are very good servers, too. We had a great meal at Mama Melrose last summer. I know a lot of people say it's just ok, but our food was delicous.
Can't wait to see the rest of your reviews.

Hopefully the next time we will get a better server at Prime Time... I really enjoyed my fried chicken so didn't mind the experience was just looking for a little more interaction. I had read many bad reviews of Mama Melrose before we went and thought about canceling our reservation but I was really pleased with our experience.

Congratulations to you and Hunter on your 5th anniversary! DH and I will celebrate our 10th anniversary on July 3rd,:lovestruc Loving your reviews can’t wait to read more. Thanks for taking the time to share.

Thank you! And Congrats on your upcoming 10th anniversary!

I am very happy to share but it appears not many people are liking my reviews... either that or they are just quiet!! Not many replies...

Up next is Beirgarten... Maybe not right away though...

Congrats on your 5th anniversary. :goodvibes My DH and I just celebrated 27 years a couple of weeks ago. Not at Disney unfortuneately since he refuses to go there, being absolutely sure without ever being there that he would hate it. :confused3 Oh well, at least he is ok with me going with our kids or solo so all is good.

Enjoying all of your reviews so far. I know this will be in your trip review but how did you like CBR? I stayed there last December with my DD@!. It's a beautiful but very large resort.

Congrats on 27 years!! I'm sorry your hubby doesn't want to visit WDW! The only reason I got my hubby there was he had promised me would go for our 5 year anniversary. It'll be hard getting him there again but I WILL do it. :)

We liked CBR. We were in Jaimaca 45 so just accross the bridge from Old Port Royale. WE moved to a timeshare the last few days of our trip and much enjoyed CBR to being off-site.

The day after our anniversary we returned to Epcot. Our original ADR was for 1ish but I called and we got in earlier.

When we arrived outside the Biergarten it was not yet open so we checked in and received our pager.

When we got inside we went almost right away to get our food. We were HUNGRY!

We both really enjoyed Biergarten. No Beer for us though!
The food was hot and flavorful. I espescially liked the spaetzel and the sausages. I am normally a fan of german food though so this was a good choice for us!

Dessert!

See those berries in the background? They were very tasty!

After we were done eating we stuck around for the entertainment

We would definitly return to the Biergarten!
Really enjoyed the food and entertainment!

Oh my! I just realized that my dining review is half over!

For those of you following do you like one review every 1-2 days or should I just hurry and get it over with? Some days its hard to even get one in but others I could do a couple of reviews. Let me know!

Also are there addional details you would like to see?

Thanks!

What wonderful reviews!! Keep em coming!

I "Think" the white dessert is the Bavarian cream cake... I don't remember it exactly. I know the brown one is the black forest and the other is the apple strudel. All the desserts were good but the one I most remember is the berries with the vanilla sauce... YUM!

But it looks so good.................... :lovestruc

It did look good but then it was dry and the chocolate just didn't do anything for us...

I LOVE your dining review, very nice indeed (and makes me very hungry!) I'm just a silent watcher you could say... There are many others like me. I have never posted on a dining review I think, but I sure spend lots of time reading them. I really should post more, it sure makes think more lively! :thumbsup2

AWESOME reviews, thanks in taking the time and taking the pics!!!

I read you did the MM "F" package, how does that work?? We have MM "F" booked for Sept and am cuious, how were the crowds???

I love your reviews! I wish you would skip to Yachtsman...:rotfl:.....I am going there next week with my friend for her 40th birthday. I would love to read your review before I leave on Saturday.......but..........no pressure!!!:surfweb:

This was the first ADR I made for our WDW trip. I wanted something special to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. I had asked the CM on the phone which restaurant she would recommend and this was one of her recommendations. Because the Wilderness Lodge was were I would have liked for us to stay I though this might be a good option. (Love this type of environment.) After I made the ADR I came to the boards to look for reviews. I did not find very many on Artist Point. I contmeplated switching to a different Signature Restaurant but I am actually very glad that I kept it.

To get to Wilderness Lodge we took the bus from CBR to MK and then the boat to the Lodge.

I believe we were a few minutes late checking in but we were seated within a few minutes.

We had special menus

We were able to keep these... They will go in my scrapbook when I get that far.

Some pics of the "Art" on the walls.

Then on to the food... I started with the Venison Pot Stickers
ry%3D400

Hunter had the Butter Poached Wild Boar Tenderloin (with goat cheese!)
ry%3D400

Both apps were good but Hunters was absolutely divine. It was incredible! Very tasty! Did I say it was good?

<<Slight interruption to the food progress. I saw some kids with Mickey Straws and I just HAD to have one!>>
ry%3D400

We also had some wine with our meal.
ry%3D400

Hunter picked out the wine... a 2004.. "aged" as long as we had been...

For our entree's Hunter had the Grilled Beef Tenderloin... it was supposed to come with a blue cheese fritter but Hunter had expressed to the chef that he loves pork belly so the pork belly was subbed in for the fritter. Hunter would have preferred both but was ver happy getting the pork belly.
ry%3D400

Hunter very much enjoyed this entree.

I had the seared day boat scallops.
ry%3D400

These were very tasty and succulent. Very tender... The Risotto was laos very good.

For dessert we had the Berries in Oregon Muscat Wine, Mint Mousse with Raspberry Sauce
ry%3D400

and the Double Chocolate Cheesecake with vanilla shortbread, raspberry coulis, Grand Marnier mousse, and candied orange
ry%3D400

The first dessert the berries in Muscat Wine were good but the rest of the dessert was not so much. The Mint Mouse was just weird and didn't seem to go with the rest of the dessert at all.

The Chocolate Cheesecake dessert I honestly don't remember the aste but I do know that we did not take more than a bite of it.

Desserts in general had not been to impressive for us during this trip...

They also provided us with a Champagne toast for our anniversary
ry%3D400

We would definitely return to Artist Point for the Apps and Entree's but definitely not for the desserts.

So there you have it... Our first Signature Meal...

I have to say this is the BEST plave to eat in WDW for fine dining. I ate here last time and it was awsome. I had the Mussel App. Buffalo Steak and Apple Crumble. I could not have been more pleased. Now reading your review makes me want to go back and try some of the other dishes.

Well thank you so much for posting on mine! I was just wanted to make sure I wasn't leaving things out that people might be looking for in a dining review since I wasn't getting many comments.

AWESOME reviews, thanks in taking the time and taking the pics!!!

I read you did the MM "F" package, how does that work?? We have MM "F" booked for Sept and am cuious, how were the crowds???

Thank you! I am trying to do my best on the reviews.

We did do the Fantasmic Package... We went to dinner and were given passes for the "reserved" seating area for fantasmic. We were told on the ticket to arrive 90 minutes before the show began. Since we didn't want to wait in line for any rides we decided we would just go sit down and wait for the show. When we got at the stage area it was only about a quarter full. By about 45 minutes prior it was FULL. I would recommend taking something to do and just going early to relax.. Especially after a full meal!

I love your reviews! I wish you would skip to Yachtsman...:rotfl:.....I am going there next week with my friend for her 40th birthday. I would love to read your review before I leave on Saturday.......but..........no pressure!!!:surfweb:

Well since I am going in order I don't think I can get there before you leave but I will private message you with a little info about our experience.

We loved Artist Point and definitely would return but our favorite is Citrico's and you will see why shortly!

I apologize

I had planned to do the Citrico's review this morning but we had a new mattress delivered and there are problems with it so dealing with that instead. I will try and do at least part of Citrico's but can't promise as I have to go back to bed soon (need sleep before working night shift)

I am so enjoying your reviews! Thank you so much for sharing your anniversary trip with us!

I am really enjoying your reviews. I especially liked the Artist Point one. I've not looked into eating there before. The scallops looked wonderful!

I am glad you liked Mama Melrose. It gets pretty dicey reviews but DH and I think the food is good. We've been lucky never to have any problems in getting seated and I found it one of the few restaurants with some room between the tables!

Anyway ... congratulations on your 5 year anniversary. DH and I are almost to #24!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my -- it just went by in a flash ... I guess I'll keep him :lovestruc !

I will pop back to see the rest of your reviews! Thanks for taking the time to do them! :thumbsup2

Great reviews! I am looking forward to your thoughts on Citrco's. I have been going back and forth about making a reservation here for my upcoming trip.

I just found this tonite and have zipped through all 6 pages. I'm glad to hear Dallas is still dishing it out at HDDR. He was our server in '07 and sang to us all night. An absolute hoot. I've been on the fence about San Angel, and you pushed me right off. I'll stick with my plato combinacion at the Cantina.
BTW at PTC you can substitute corn or green beans for the greens. In '06 our cousin introduced every one in his section by name, and continued to each time more cousins showed up. There had to be 30 people in his section. And in '07 one buddy had to sing I'm a Little Teapot doe to elbows on the table. Give it another try. Who knows, you may get sent to the corner.
