Oh and btw I am a nurse too! :goodvibes I work in the ER, what type of nursing do you do?

thank you!

I am a Med/Surg nurse. Primarily work with pts who have had abdominal, gyn, or thoracic surgeries. I also float to Ortho/Surg where I work with the Knee/Hip replacement pts as well as urology and ENT. I also float to Mother/Baby and take care of well postpartum moms and healthy babies...

Each unit has the good and bad going on but all offer variety so I like it! I've only been a nurse for about 15months.

Can't wait for the rest of your reviews!

More coming up soon!

Really looking forward to more!

Glad to hear...the next will be up today... The timing depends on if I stay awake while typing it or if I fall asleep... Working night shift can sometimes drain all the energy right out of you and four in a row really can do it...

Okay... This review is actually very difficult for me to do...

WHY?!?!?

Cause the meal was so unremarkable I have no clue what we ate except for when I look at the pictures!

So.. First off.. I've mentioned that some of my reviews don't have any pictures and some with bites out etc. The rest of the reviews will have pictures of some sort (except the last day dining locations.) However some I missed a course or so... For this one I happened to miss our appetizers....

I have looked on allears.net and for the life of me I cannot remember which appetizer my hubby had... oh, and btw.. his name is Hunter :rotfl: I don't think I've mentioned that before..

I think he MAY have had the Sopa Azteca... He usually goes for tortilla soups so I think this may be it.. However I don't remember if he liked it or not...

For me... I had the Tacos de Pato... from what I remember they were pretty good. A little bit of kick to them... (for me anyways! I DON'T do spicy!)

Now on to what I have pictures of!

The entree's!

I had the Churrasco Con Chilaquiles... described as Grilled flank steak with chilaquiles (layers of fried corn tortilla, green tamatilla sauce, topped with fresh cheese, onions and sour cream.)

ry%3D400
(Sorry the pic is blurry.)
The chips were SOGGY! Had an interesting flavor.. The steak was a little overdone.. I like mine medium rare... I ate the whole steak anyways cause I was hungry and not much of the chips...

My hubby had the ummmm... I dunno what it is called...

Anyone know?!?!?
ry%3D400

Anyways... I am so sorry this review is so completely lacking... but I sincerely can't remember much about it!

On to dessert... I know my hubby had the Bread Pudding.... it was okay... nothing special. Although I believe I ate most of it anyways..
ry%3D400

I had the overwhipped something or other... not sure if it was a mouse or what but it didn't have much flavor and was actually a little on the chunky side when we thought it should be smooth...
ry%3D400

So there you have it... my very sad rendition of a review for the San Angel Inn. Would I go back?? Nope... not on your life... Was it aweful?? No... but it sure wasn't good either. It was food and I'll leave it at that.

The reviews get better after this one... I promise!!!

Thanks for doing the dining review. I'm enjoying them and I found your San Angel review quite funny. I think I'd be the same way - trying to remember stuff - especially when it really wasn't memorable. I liked the LTT pics too. I wanted to go there so bad so I could see Mickey and Minnie in Thanksgiving garb, but alas - no more characters. I will have to try to schedule it in sometime anyway!:thumbsup2

Happy Anniversary! and many more to come....

Thank you!

Congratulations on 5 years. Thanks for the reviews.

Thank You too! You're welcome for the reviews. I had read a lot of reviews to prepare for this trip so wanted to be able to return the favor!

I was hoping the San Angel Inn review would come across as funny since I really couldn't remember too much about the meal. With the lack of light in the restaurant I couldn't really see what we were eating till I took the pictures...

I chose Chefs de France as a place for us to visit because my hubby and I love French Food. Probably would have preferred the other French Restaurant but alas it is not on the dining plan.

Oh man... I thought I finally had pics of all courses but I can't find my appetizer courses. AT LEAST I DO remember what we had!!!

I think I may have missed the appetizer pics because I was a little distracted... by REMY!!

My hubby was having trouble with the whole what we get on the deluxe dining plan and didn't realize he could have ANY appetizer or entree regardless of the price.... I think he FINALLY got it after this restaurant. He kept wanting to order the pre-set three-course meal at both restaurants this day. Which would have worked great if we were on the regular dining plan but I really wanted him to have whatever he wanted and not restricted by that.

He still began with one of the appetizers on the pre-set plan but then stepped away from it. ;)

He began with the Soupe a l'oignon gratinee (French onion soup). It came out VERY fast which led us to believe that they definitly have them pre-made and already in the oven in the back since they would generally take some time to come out. It also came out VERY hot! However it was a good onion soup with lots of cheese and lots of onions. I had the last quarter of it since it was a pretty decent sized portion. Would order again.

I had the Assiette Campagnarde (Rustic Assortment of french pates, and charcuteries). I tend to love pates. Not sure which kinds I had but for the post part they were good. One I think was a country pate, a little chunky and not smooth. The other was a smooth pate, my favorite. The charcuteries were a couple of thin sliced sausages which were also good. I believe I also had a few pickles on my plate which I also enjoyed.

On to the main courses!
ry%3D400

Hubby had the Filet de boeuf grille, sauce au poivre noir Gratin Dauphinois et haricots verts (Grilled tenderloin of beef with a black pepper sauce original potato gratin of Savoy and green beans)

The steak was flavorful and well cooked. The potatoes were potatoes ;). Most of his green beans did not get eaten... (He is NOT a fan of green beans!)

Here is a picture of him getting ready to dig in!
ry%3D400

I had the duck... officially Canard au miel, haricots vert et pommes de terre douce (Roasted breast of duck and leg confit, french green beans and sweet potato, spicy honey sauce)
ry%3D400

The duck was good. Not the best duck confit I have had though. Frech beans were french beans... I like french beans so I ate emost of mine but there was no special flavor to them. The item I liked most on my dish was the sweet potato mash. They were creamy and yummy. I liked them :)

On to dessert...

Hunter had the crepe.. which I knew he would :cool1: Crepe a la pomme et cannelle, glace vanille, caramel jus de pommes (Crepes filled with cinnamon, apple, vanilla ice cream and apple caramel sauce)
ry%3D400

He ate the whole thing! It wasn't his favorite type of crepe but it was an enjoyable treat.

I had the Creme Brulee (no translation necessary ;) )
ry%3D400

I am not a big fan of the "brulee" part of creme brulee so I normally peel the burnt sugar off. (I just don't like the flavor of burnt sugar.). The "creme" part was not as smooth as I expected. I guess I am just to picky as my hubby makes an AWESOME creme brulee and have yet to find one that matches his. I ate a few bites but the texture just wasn't doing it for me. If you have not had my hubby's Creme Brulee I am sure you will probably enjoy this one :rotfl2:.

So there is the Chefs de France Review. It was decent food. Might go back again if we dine in Epcot.

Love the reviews so far! We didn't really enjoy our meal at San Angel last year either. That was our 2nd try, don't think we'll be going back. Loved Chef de France ... so disappointed that Remy is supposed to leave in September and we won't make it there til December! :guilty:

We are trying many of the signature places next trip so I am really looking forward to those reviews! :surfweb:

San Angel looks disappointing, shame but I can stop nagging the rest of my family to try it next trip but Chefs de France looks lovely, think that we may add that to the list of new places to try.

I think the problem with San Angel inn is they are trying to have Mexican flavors without traditional mexican dishes. Living in CA we have a lot of authentic mexican restaurants and there is nothing like this on the menu. Also disappointing to me was the market in Mexico. I remember it being a lot more displays and more hustling like a street market from my days there as a kid.

I look forward to doing the Signature Restaurant reviews. Trying to get there.. Just a couple more meals to review before we are there...

Theo nly reason I had selected the San Angel Inn was because Hubby loves Mexican food but this was not the best interpretation.

Up next 50's Prime Time Cafe.

You guys are adorable! We cancelled our SAI dinner ressie last week, the menu was just eh...we booked Nine Dragons instead..Oh the Horror! It was terrible too!

Just ate at Chefs for lunch yesterday and saw Remy...isnt he the cutest thing! And I do agree about the soup...it was scorching hot and came out fast...they must have a ton of them lined up under the broiler just waiting to go

Day 3 begins with our lunch at Prime Time Cafe. I had booked this restaurant because it sounded better and more fun to me than the Sci-Fi Drive In. We arrived at the restaurant slightly late as the restaurant was our first stop of the day as we had decided to sleep in in the morning as I had drained my hubby the previous couple of days.

So we arrived at the restaurant and the hostess "great aunt" scolded us for being late. They then walked us through the entire restaurant just to seat us at a table close to the front door? weird...

So I had already figured out that we would be eating the onion rings as the only other choices for apps were soup/salad/or seafood. Why onion rings takes 2 app credits I dunno since they cost less than most of the other app choices...

Unfortunately I do not have a picture of the onion rings but they were delicious beer-battered onion rings.

For the main course... which we started eating before I took the pics... Hunter had the Cousin Eric's Char-grilled Chicken Sandwich
ry%3D400

He enjoyed it. I didn't try this as I was busy digging into my own Fried Chicken!!
ry%3D400

Yum Yum Yum... Obviously I couldn't wait to dig in! This was juicy and tender and the skin delish and crispy!
I really enjoyed my meal... except for the greens... I didn't eat them and was so disappointed when our server wasn't in his "role" and didn't penalize me for not eating them. He just said "Eat your greens" I said "no" He said okay and took my plate away :confused3 I wanted him to yell at me... Oh Well.

So for dessert hubby had the s'mores...
ry%3D400

He had a bite and went Mmmm. Mmm hmmm Good!
I had a bite and had the same reaction. He didn't finish it... was full from his sandwich so I helped myself to the rest.

I also had my own dessert of course. The Dad's Brownie Sundae.
ry%3D400

When this came out I thought a kid had gone crazy making it. It looked like a mess. I had a few bites but it wasn't anything special. I concentrated on hubby's smores instead.

I would go back to Prime Time Cafe for the Onion Rings, Fried Chicken and s'mores! All were very good!

First off Happy Anniversary and many more!

I had the Churrasco Con Chilaquiles... described as Grilled flank steak with chilaquiles (layers of fried corn tortilla, green tamatilla sauce, topped with fresh cheese, onions and sour cream.)

Just wanted to let you know Chilaquiles are supposed to be soggy. It's almost like a lasagna. When done properly it is my alltime favorite food. And to the pp it is authentic mexican. We had it in a local restaurant in Mexico. Sorry you didn't enjoy it!

Enjoying your review can't wait to read more!:)

:wave2:

Count me in! Great reviews so far!

I love the photos you have of hunter ready to tuck in to stuff!!

Thanks for the compliment.

I'm sorry that Nine Dragons wasn't any better...

I loved seeing Remy... a cute break... At least the soup was still good. Sometimes when they have things all ready like that its not so tasty but this was still decent.

First off Happy Anniversary and many more!

Oh well... I guess the Chilaquiles just aren't my thing then. I've never been to Mexico so I only know based on all the mexican restaurants around here and I've never seen these types of items on the menu and most of the people in the restaurant barely speak English. I guess they might have left these items off to appeal to more people.

:wave2:

Count me in! Great reviews so far!

I love the photos you have of hunter ready to tuck in to stuff!!

Thanks for joining us!

He does love his food! And since I am usually behind the camera he gets stuck in the pictures and he hams it up quite well.

Up next... Mama Melrose

Having computer issues.... I promise the review is coming when I am able to type slower than it takes for it to show up on the screen...
