AmyT's Journal (Comments Definitely Welcome!)

Great job on the ice cream! YOu really mean business! Thankfully, you've broken that 137 barrier! :cheer2: :cheer2: Weightloss thru Puppy Training 101!

At least you didn't have any surprises at your son's conference. Hopefully, the puppy will help. Both of our sons adored our dog. THey would fight over who got to take care of her...until it came time to clean up the yard!

I had another good night last night. I had a couple spoonfuls of ice cream (I really should stop doing that!) but it didn’t affect my weight this morning. I didn’t make it to the gym because it would have been after 6pm by the time I got home and I had to stop at the store for milk and I still would have had to make dinner, do dishes, etc. And I managed to make that decision before lunchtime – I didn’t talk myself out of it last-minute! But I did get my walk in. :banana: I work late again today but will try to get in my Pilates Sculpt DVD tonight. I will for sure be able to go to the gym tomorrow because I’ll be back on my regular work schedule. I know I’ll make my exercise goal for the month, I just feel the need to get to the gym at least 3x a week… But I guess that is a good thing. I just have to remind myself that sometimes it is OK to take a day or two off and not feel guilty! My schedule will be back to normal next week. For today (1408 cal):

B-Wheat Bagel w/Cream Cheese (2 tbsp); Light-n-Fit w/Fiber Yogurt
L-Veggie Soup (1.5 c); Craisin Bran Muffin; DC
S#1-Apple
S#2-FF Cottage Cheese (3/4 c)
D-Wheat Spaghetti (3/4 c) w/Sauce (1/2 c) and Meatballs (4); Crème Savers (4)
WORKOUT-Cardio Sculpt (45 min); Walking (40 min)

Jane, I also hope the puppy helps. :dog: DS got in trouble AGAIN at his after school program. I am just about at the end of my rope. He is grounded to his room for the rest of the week and I had him make a list of all his privileges he wants to earn back, and in what order. Computer games was #1 and Buckley time was #2. So at least the puppy is high on his list of priorities... I am so glad DD is such a princess: or else I think I'd go insane!!

Here is a picture of Buckley. :dog: I am bored and want to eat something out of my boss's candy jar so I am trying to waste some time so I don't give in!!!

I managed to dig into the ice cream again last night (just a single serving)! But at least I did my Cardio Sculpt DVD in addition to my walk… Today I will go to the gym after work. I might even go tomorrow to make up for not going Wednesday (yes, I feel that guilty!).

I am planning on having ONE cookie tonight! I will eat it slowly and savor every bite. When it’s gone, it’s gone! My mom is coming over for dinner so I decided to make a dozen for dessert. That is the good thing about this cookie dough – you can make 6 cookies or 36, however many you want. I will even be under 1300 calories with it included! We are also making Halloween cookies this weekend (why do I torture myself so?). I have a pumpkin cookie decorating kit and the kids will help me. I am going to give them to the neighbor across the street. She watches my kids in the mornings for about 45 minutes and takes them to school. I offered to pay her but she refused to accept any money, saying that she has to take her kids to school anyway. I need to think of something wonderful to get her for Christmas. Any ideas?

Other than that we have no plans this weekend besides DD’s soccer game tomorrow. So I should be able to stick to a routine, and maybe lose a pound and get my 5 lb clippie on Wednesday!! That would be cool! (1289 cal):

B-Kashi Crunch (1/2 c); FF Yoplait Yogurt; Honeydew (1 c)
L-Veggie Soup (1.5 c); Trail Mix Bar; DC
S#1-Apple; 2 mini Tootsie Rolls
S#2-Turkey-n-Corn Tortilla-n-Mustard (2)
D-Grilled Chicken (4 oz); Pasta-Roni (1/2 c); Cauliflower (1 c); Crème Savers (2); Cookie
WORKOUT-Weights (20 min); Elliptical (25 min); Walking (40 min)

Buckley is so cute! Looks like such a baby! No wonder your kids love having a puppy.

You're doing so well on your nibbling at night. Congrats! Now if I could just get it right! Your fortunate to have such a wonderful neighbor. Whatever you do, don't move!

Love the Buckley picture!! :goodvibes

You're doing great. I can't wait until I can get back into an exercise routine. I've missed that lately.

Have a good weekend, and keep up the good work of staying away from the trouble foods! Hope the soccer game goes well. We have lots of rain here, and DD is off soccer now due to having mono!

Oh my gosh Amy, he is just the cutest!!!!

Way to go on staying on top of things.....you are doing a great job!!!

Hope you had a great Friday! Keep it up

Hi Amy!!!

I'm so sorry it's taken me so long to get back over here. I'm glad you found a muffin recipe that you liked, even if you are over it now!!! ;)

The puppy is adorable. What a sweetiepie :dog2:

Wow, just one cookie!!! You go!

Your puppy is SO CUTE!!!

Sounds like you are doing AWESOME!

Great dealing with the ice cream.

Have a wonderful week!

I had a pretty good weekend. I controlled my intake of the cookies we made (they are now gone), scheduled in some ice cream on Saturday (it is finally gone), had my ice cream sandwich on Sunday. I did good on Saturday but Sunday left much to be desired… My calories were high both days, but I was not snacking out of control, just wasn’t making the healthiest choices. But I had done pretty good all week, so I don’t feel too guilty! Sunday was TOUGH! I had to take DD to a b-day party and it was torture. It was at a pottery painting place in a huge entertainment complex. I had cash burning a hole in my purse (which is rare since I use my debit card for everything) and the pottery place was next to a Cold Stone Creamery, Panda Express, Hawaiian BBQ and Starbucks. I hadn’t eaten for a couple hours… So I chose the less of all the evils and got an Iced NF Chai Latte, which was still 230 calories… But that is way less than Cold Stone!

I am going out to lunch with an old college buddy today at Z’Tejas. I know what I am getting (jerk chicken salad w/sesame ginger vinaigrette), but I have NO idea how many calories are in it. So I guess I will just have to estimate… I will have to update the total later because I can’t remember exactly what is on it (I know there is lettuce and chicken but I’m not sure about cheese, etc). Here is the damage from the weekend:

Sat (1526 cal):
B-Egg Beaters (3/4 c); Cheese (1/8 c); Toast-n-Butter; Banana
L-Grilled Ham-n-Cheese; Cookie; DC
S-Sugar Cookie; Crème Saver (2)

S-Cantaloupe (1 c); Craisins (1/3 c); Chai Latte; Crème Savers (4)
D-Pork Chop (2 oz); Mashed Potatoes (3/4 c); Green Beans (1 c); HC Ice Cream Sandwich
WORKOUT-Pilates Sculpt DVD (55 min)

For today (?? cal):

Thanks everyone for the puppy compliments! He really is adorable, I am so happy we got him! :paw:

Jane, I did OK this weekend, but it could have been better. But it used to be a LOT worse, so I am pleased with myself! :teeth:

Kate, hope you can get back to working out soon! I am addicted. It's a good thing since I am also addicted to food... DD's team got creamed, like usual. I just wish they'd win ONE game! They only have 3 left! They did tie once, which was nice!!

Jamie, frogmommy, goldcupmom, thanks for stopping by my journal! I really appreciate all the support! :)

Don't mention Stone Cold Creamery! I credit that place with giving me several pounds of unwanted fat. When younger ds was 16 we used to go there once a week. He was 6' and about 135lbs so the ice cream didn't make a dent in him. I think he liked going so much because one of the girls who worked there was 20 years old, and she thought ds was her age. I'm just thankful I finally quit going there. That was a really bad habit!

Your workouts are lookin' good! Take good care of that puppy!

Your new addition is so cute!!! How are the allergies going today? I wish that I could trust myself to do that with ice cream it is a definite trigger food and there's no way I could stick with two bites. Awesome job!! :cool1:

HI Amy!!!

Just wanted to pop in and say hi! You are doing a great job! Keep up the good work.

Have a wonderful Tuesday!!

The jerk chicken salad was excellent at lunch yesterday. It had mixed greens (3 c), jerk chicken (about 3 oz), feta cheese (maybe ¼ c), tomatoes, thin tortilla strips (about ½ c) and a hint of the sesame ginger dressing (probably 3-4 tbsp). I also had 2 pieces of the most delicious cornbread. I have no idea how many calories were in that lunch, but the scale wasn’t affected by it this morning, so it must not have been too bad! DD has tap tonight, so I’m not planning on a workout other than my 40 min of walking. I also have to work an hour late today and Thu because I have to leave 2 hours early tomorrow to take DS to the orthodontist. But I made my exercise goal!!!! :banana: :banana: I snacked on some Reese’s Puffs last night, but I didn’t have any snacks between lunch and dinner (must have been full from that salad & cornbread!). I also had 1 extra Crème Saver. Nothing too traumatic! For today (1189 cal :cheer2: ):

B-FF Yoplait Yogurt; Kashi Crunch (3/4 c); Cantaloupe (1 c)
L-Romaine (2 c); Egg Whites (4); Cheese (1/8 c); LF Dressing (2 tbsp); Mini Rice Cakes (10); DC
S#1-Apple
S#2-FF Cottage Cheese (1/2 c)
D-Beef Roast (3 oz); Red Potato (1); Carrots (3); Crème Savers (4)
WORKOUT-Walking (40 min)

Jane, you passed your fatigue to me! I am EXHAUSTED today! However, I think mine is due to a little furball that likes to wake up at 5am. I should be thankful he sleeps (or at least is quiet) all night... Sounds like my DS is going to be like your DS. He is such a string bean and he eats like a horse! He had 3 bowls of cereal this morning. I don't know where he puts it all! I'm jealous, I wish I could eat like that! :rolleyes:

gradtchr, my allergies are no worse than usual! I don't think the puppy is adding anything bad to the mix! :teeth: I am also surprised that I could only eat a couple bites of ice cream and step away. That is a major accomplishment for me. Thanks for stopping by my journal!

Jamie, thanks for your undying support! :cheer2:

Amy -- Congratulations on having so much willpower with all those goodies around! And AWESOME job on finishing the exercise challenge with a week to spare! :cheer2:

I am so impressed with how well you are doing! :thewave:

Your furbaby is absolutely adorable. He looks so tiny. It must be like having a baby in the house again, right? :teeth: Enjoy! :lovestruc

For the first time in a long time, I stuck 100% to plan last night! :cool1: No extra Crème Savers, no cereal, not a single unplanned thing! I actually didn’t even eat my scheduled string cheese. It was HARD! I found myself buzzing around the kitchen, pantry, etc and kept having to tell myself NO! I really need to get out of the snacking habit. I am doing way better than I used to, but there is still room for improvement. Unfortunately the scale was still stuck at 134 this morning. I was a little bummed because I was at 133 on both Sat and Sun, but after my calorie-fest on Sun, it went back up and stayed up. Oh well, I will just have to be patient and get my 5 lb clippie next week! For today (1403 cal):

B-Wheat Bagel w/Cream Cheese (2 tbsp); Yogurt; Cantaloupe (1/2 c)
L-Romaine (2 c); Egg Whites (4); Cheese (1/8 c); FF Dressing (2 tbsp); Mini Rice Cakes (10); DC
S#1-Apple
S#2-LF String Cheese; Homemade Chex mix (1 c)
D-Fiesta Turkey Pie; Cauliflower (1 c); Crème Savers (5)
WORKOUT-Walking (10 min)

Cam, it is worse than having a baby in the house - at least a baby doesn't chew on shoes and pee all over the place... but it is worth it, he is so fun! Thanks for your support, it means so much! :goodvibes

:cheer2: :cheer2: Congrats on meeting your exercise goal!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: Also congrats on 'no snacking' last night. You're doing an amazing job! You will be ready for that cruise.

So sorry that Buckley is waking you up in the morning. He's such a cutie - its almost worth it.

Way to go Amy!!!! That is awesome that you stuck to plan. You have will power.....way to go!!!

Keep up the good work. You will be back down to 133 in no time!

I did pretty good last night. No snacking, but I did go overboard with the Chex mix I made. :guilty: It has baked garbanzo beans, Wheat Chex, dried pineapple, raisins and seasonings. It is OK, not great, but that didn’t stop me from eating about 1 cup of it! I didn’t have my other planned snack, but this added about 300 calories and I only took away about 135 calories. That put me at 1403 calories, which isn't totally awful. The scale was the same this morning, I was actually expecting a gain. I don’t want to do that again!!

I woke up with a sore throat yesterday and I still have it. It has not gotten worse, but no better either - just hanging out in the background. I rarely get sick, so I hope it is short-lived! The only other symptom I have is fatigue… I did not get in my walk or go to the gym yesterday (DS had an orthodontist appt, plus I was beat). I feel like a slacker lately, but I have to listen to my body and rest when it wants to rest.

I signed up for 3000 minutes for the Christmas Exercise Challenge. I better get in gear if I want to make that goal! I have to be more consistent with my lunchtime walks. The weather is finally cooling off (only in the mid 80’s now) so I have no excuse! I am going to the gym after work today since I didn’t go yesterday. Today’s plan (1286 cal):

B-Yogurt; Kashi Crunch (3/4 c); Banana
L-Romaine (2 c); Egg Whites (4); Cheese (1/8 c); LF Dressing (2 tbsp); Mini Rice Cakes (10); DC
S#1-Apple
S#2-FF Cottage Cheese (1/2 c); LF String Cheese
D-Baked Macaroni; Zucchini (1 c); Crème Savers (4)
WORKOUT-Walking (40 min); Weights (20 min); Treadmill (25 min)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Allison, thanks for stopping by my journal! I drink 80 oz of water every day at work and another 20 oz when I work out.
Jane, Buckley is worth getting up in the morning! Actually, it is the alarm that wakes him up, so I am getting up anyway (except now I don't get to hit my beloved snooze button twice! :rolleyes: )
Jamie, I managed to stick to the plan one day this week. :rolleyes1 I hope to stick to it both today and tomorrow and do my best to behave at my Halloween party on Sat!! :goodvibes
