I am at 133! :scared1: :eek: :scared1: :eek: Do I have a tapeworm or something?!??!?! :laughing: :laughing: Whatever it is, I’ll take it! I can’t believe I am FINALLY losing weight! :teeth: When I started WISH at the end of June I was at 138, so if I am still at 133 on my Wednesday weigh-in, I can get the 5 lb clippie!!! For a while I thought I’d never get one… I did great last night – that cheeseburger really filled me up so I wasn’t as tempted to snack. I did have 1.5 cups of steamed cauliflower and 5 Ore Ida Crispers (baked French fries) plus one extra butterscotch – but NO cereal! :cheer2: Better than I had been doing the previous few nights, that’s for sure… I am SUPER motivated to be good this weekend now! ::yes:: I never would have imagined I’d be 133 by the time I left. Yay for me!!!! :cool1: :banana: :cool1: :banana:

We are leaving for Mexico tomorrow morning, so this will be my last journal post until Sunday or Monday. Hopefully I will be at the same weight when I come back. :wizard: I am seriously going to try to behave – but still have fun and not obsess about it. We will be eating out a lot, but when I say eating out I mean grabbing a couple fish or carne asada tacos from a street vendor. I estimated the best I could on FitDay for the typical fish taco and came up with 155 calories each (1 corn tortilla, 2 oz breaded fried fish, 2 tbsp shredded cabbage, 2 tbsp pico de gallo). It is probably close (the tacos are small, I usually eat 2 of them). I won’t be eating too much - it’s the alcohol that will kill me! :rolleyes1 I am going to attempt to stick to 3-5 cocktails per day (throughout the entire day, not all at once!), but we’ll see how that goes… I estimated 100 calories per cocktail (that’s how much 1 shot of hard liquor is) and 5 per day on FitDay. I will be keeping a journal while I am there and will update my totals when I get back. I can’t wait, it is going to be SO FUN!!!! :sunny: Maybe I will post a picture of the beach when I get back – or maybe a “before” and “after” shot in my bikini so I can have proof of what damage alcohol does to my body… For today (1277 cal):

UGH! I just ate a Tootsie Pop! I looked it up and it is 60 calories! I don't know what my problem has been lately, I think it is because I am insanely bored at work... :guilty: But a Tootsie Pop is way better than boss's candy stash or the snack bar (cookies, granola bars, chips, etc). Drinking water is not helping. Maybe I'll get a DC from the vending machine. I try to stick to 1 a day but desperate times call for desperate measures... REMEMBER HOW GOOD IT FELT WHEN YOU SAW THAT 133 ON THE SCALE THIS MORNING!!!!!!!! I have been trying to repeat that over and over... There are so many things I could be doing at home but I am stuck here for another 2.5 hours... :rolleyes1 At least at 2:00 I can eat my peach! If I eat it any sooner, I will binge snack when I get home - NO THANKS! OK, feeling better now! ;)

Well, what can I say… My trip was AWESOME! The weather was perfect, the water was beautiful and warm, the house we stayed in was gorgeous. Needless to say, it was a food and drink free-for-all. We all had a wonderful time! :sunny: I struggled to decide whether or not I was going to post this next part, but I am going to, so maybe in the future I can avoid a repeat performance. So here goes:

When I weighed myself Friday morning I was at 133. When I came back Sunday afternoon, I was 140! I was expecting to gain 2-3 lbs, but 7?!?!? It was at that point I just went off the deep end. I ate a TON of junk (oatmeal crème pie, granola bar, peanut butter, mini rice cakes, pizza for dinner). I probably ate 1500 calories (on top of the 1000 I had already eaten that day), in total frenzy mode. I kept telling myself to stop, but I couldn’t! It was awful! I am ashamed and embarrassed to admit to this, but it happened. So this morning I woke up at 139. :sad2: Who knows what it would have been if I wouldn’t have binged like that last night. I will never know. So all last night I was beating myself up and this morning I still felt awful about it. But I can’t change what I did. I was disappointed in myself, but there is no sense living in the past, right? All I can do is get back on track today. Besides, I had a GREAT time with great friends, and that is what counts the most in life!!! ::yes:: I planned my day on FitDay and I will faithfully stick to it. I did go on a 60 minute walk on the beach both Sat and Sun, plus did lots of swimming (but I only counted the walks towards my Oct Exercise Challenge). I plan on resuming my lunchtime walks this week and will be going to the gym 3x a week, as usual. :cheer2: Hopefully I will be back down to 135 by the end of the week, I’m sure a lot of it is water and maybe 2 “real” pounds. For today (1240 cal):

Everyone, my trip was GREAT! I am going to download my pix tonight and I will post at least a beach photo soon... I decided to post about my binge and insane weight gain because I knew you guys would all understand and help me feel better! :grouphug: Just posting it made me feel a lot better. :goodvibes Here's to a new, successful week!

PS - I am not going to change my 3/12 for the Thanksgiving Challenge, because I DID lose those 3 lbs (actually I lost 4 but hadn't posted the last one yet) and I know that I will be back down to 133 in the next couple weeks. Does that sound fair????
 
I know that you were disappointed in yourself, but I just had to laugh reading your journal. I have had the same "I've already blown it, so I may as well enjoy myself a little longer" attitude! You haven't binged in a LONG time, so it was time you let loose! You have already proven that you can lose it, so...get to work!! I had a mini-binge myself today. I feel bad, but I've got to get focused again! You can do it, too!! Welcome home! :flower:

Don't be too hard on yourself for what you did. We all do it every now and again! You will get back on track and be back down to 133 in no time.

I did great last night. Didn’t snack on a single thing and didn’t have to update my FitDay total to add anything! This morning I weighed in at 136!!!!! :cool1: :banana: :cool1: :banana: After a week or two of discipline, I should be right back to where I was, don’t you think? What are some high protein snacks to have in the afternoon? I think after this week I might get burned out on cottage cheese and string cheese… I guess I could snack on some lunchmeat or something like that.

I didn’t get my lunchtime walk in yesterday – it was still TOO hot :sunny: (96 for the high) and I had a 1pm meeting and didn’t want to go in there all sweaty and stinky. Today and tomorrow I don’t have morning meetings, so I am going to take my walk in the mornings while it is still in the low 70’s! I did get to the gym last night, so I am off to a good start on my exercise challenge. I want to do Pilates tonight - I plan on doing my shorter DVD, even if I have to do it after dinner! For today (1304 cal):

Jamie, thanks for the encouragement! You are right, I WILL get back to 133 - my goal is by next Wednesday!!! I am just glad that scale said 136 and not 137 today, I think I would have had a really bad flashback....
 
You're doing AWESOME, Amy! I'm still not back to my 'pre-trip' weight and the trip was in late June- early July!

I wanted to thank you again for dropping by my journal. I've skipped around a bit in yours. It's nice to know that I am not the only one who has to fight snack attacks! It looked like for awhile your scale wasn't moving much. I'm glad to see that the scale has finally decided to cooperate with you!!!
 
Another stellar evening! I actually squeezed in 25 min of Pilates and I got my walk in. Not bad since I usually only get 10 exercise minutes on Tuesdays!! I ALMOST stuck 100% to my eating plan. I say ALMOST because one of my eggs at lunch would NOT peel and I got so mad with the chunky mess that I threw it in the trash. I made up for the lack of egg white by eating 3 Whoppers (malted milk balls, not Burger King!) which I estimated at 30 calories. In spite of that little substitution, I weighed in this morning at 135!!!!!! Woohoo!!!! I will be back to pre-Mexico weight in no time – only 2 lbs to go! I just need to stay focused, which I definitely am. For today (1268 cal):

Julie, I feel your pain, when I went on a weeklong vacation in July it took me 2.5 months to lose the weight!

Frogmommy, yes I was stuck on a plateau for a looooong time, and when I finally got the scale moving in the right direction, I went on a trip and gained everything (plus some) back! But it's coming off already, so I'm not too worried this time!!! Thanks for stopping by!
 
Sounds like you are on the right track Amy. And you are right - you had a great time in Mexico with friends and it isn't like you are going to do that every weekend, right?! RIGHT!

You can get back down there in now time and then you'll right back on track and at it. Hang in there - I know it's hard.

Your trip sounds like a lot of fun. :banana: :banana: Thanks for the jello shots. I've never tried them before. The first time I ever saw them was at Pleasure Island about 15 years ago and I couldn't figure out what in the heck they were.

So glad that the trip weight is melting off of you. I can see why you freaked out when the scales said 140. It must've been that the combination of salt & alcohol caused water weight gain. It won't take you long to get back to 134.
 
I am ON FIRE!!!!!! 3 great days in a row! :banana: I did have 2 extra butterscotch discs but that was it. I was still at 135 this morning. But, I am wearing my skinny pants today, so things are good! My goal is to be at 133 (or less, of course!) by next Wednesday’s weigh-in so I can add another lb to my Thanksgiving Challenge AND get a 5-lb clippie! I can do it!!!! :cheer2:

I am absolutely exhausted this morning. I think I am going to take the day off from working out. I forced myself to do my walk yesterday morning (I was tired then too!) and by the time I got to the gym after work I was beat! But I still did 30 minutes of weights and 25 minutes (jog) on the treadmill… :)

We are going to a friend’s b-day party this weekend. :cake: She was in Mexico with us, so you can imagine what the party will be like… :drinking: I have no idea what food will be served, but usually there are some healthy options (veggie tray, grilled chicken, etc). Since I am fresh off the Mexican Weight Roller Coaster, I am actually not too worried about the party! I think I’ve gotten all the “gotta eat it just because it’s there” out of my system for a while. What an awesome feeling!!! :cool1: I hope that feeling sticks around, because October is going to be a party-a-thon. We have the b-day party this weekend, a college graduation party on the 15th, and we are having an adults Halloween party on the 29th. Usually I dread these social events, but now I am looking forward to them! The last couple get-togethers we went to (before the weekend trip) I must have behaved enough because I didn’t see a gain the next day. Maybe I’m starting to get the hang of this! Now if I could just make that happen on vacation, I’d be all set… :blush: For today (1616 cal):

Jane, I bet you are right about the salt water and alcohol. I did ingest a huge mouthful of seawater when my friend got slapped down by a huge wave trying to get back to the beach... It looked so funny I couldn't stop laughing! :rotfl:
