AmyT's Journal (Comments Definitely Welcome!)

Hi Amy!!!! I am soooo happy that you made 135!! Sorry I am a little late! Things have been crazy!

I just know that you are going to make it to 134 for Mexico. You are going to do great this weekend being kidless. You have a great plan....I know that you can stick to it. And if not, I know you will use your head.

Keep up the great work!!!!!

Congrats on the almost 134!!!!! :banana: :banana: Great job!

I know what you mean about the kidless weekends. Every weekend around here is kidless since my younger son is 17, and he's always on the go. Because I'm working all weekend I told dh just to lowkey it. When we go out and have a couple of drinks then I'm more inclined to indulge in the junk food and appetizers. I just don't want to be tempted. Next week at the Wine Festival I'll eat and drink whatever I want but I also do tons of walking while we're there. I've gone several times to the Wine Festival and so far haven't gained any weight from eating my way around the world. My neighbor called a few days ago and wanted to go out for lunch but I told her I couldn't. When we go out I always think I'll order chicken soup and salad and end up with a pizza or reuben sandwich. I'm just no good when faced with temptation.

I didn't realize your daughter received the crown and shoes to her outfit. How cute! She must be so excited. What a nice mom you are.

Have a great weekend! Enjoy your dvds! Think thin!

I'm having a ball getting caught up on your journal! I missed a lot! Congrats on the 2 pounds. I think that they travelled to Iowa to stay with me for a little while. Don't worry, I won't send them back to you!!

I hadn't even thought about ordering costumes through Disney until I got my catalog last week. DS wants to be Buzz Lightyear, so I may try to get an order in. Looks like I'll be having surgery the week of Halloween, so I won't be able to take them trick-or-treating, but I'll still have fun dressing them up! :goodvibes

Your doing so great! It's okay to splurge once in awhile! Yeah to martini's, try looking online for some lower cal recipies? I took a look at one martini recipe and the 2 oz serving is 119cals x3 = (357cals). Maybe if you found a lower cal one, you could save cals or drink more :rolleyes:.

:cool1: :cool1: You can do it! your so so close. :banana: :banana:

Well, Friday didn't go exactly as planned... :confused3 We did go to Outback and I had 3 martinis, 3 grilled shrimp, 3 bread-n-butter (instead of 2) and a BOWL of soup (instead of a cup)! I should not have gotten the bowl - it was too much! I actually got stuffed from soup, which I didn't know was possible... That wasn't the bad part - our friends invited us over afterwards. I managed to sip my drinks because my friend would try to refill my glass everytime it was half empty (2 Passion Fruit rum-n-Sprites). I didn't eat any extra food, which was good. My friend used regular Sprite (not good!) and I was SO paranoid that I was going to gain some weight back!

However, the scale gods were nice and Sat I woke up still at 135 (whew, a close call!) Same on Sunday. I got back on track immediately, I have no idea how many calories I consumed Friday, but I bet it was close to 1800, with at least 700 from alcohol... :blush: I really would like to lose another lb before we leave for Rocky Point this Friday, keep your fingers crossed! I actually tried on my bikini today and it doesn't look too shabby! I am going to wear it this weekend! :cool1:

Jamie, thanks for your encouragement! I did do pretty good this weekend!

Jane, we are so much alike! I can't resist temptation either, which is why I try to avoid it altogether... You are going to do awesome at the Wine Festival - it sounds like a blast!

Karyn, YAY, you're back!!! Sorry for flinging that 2 lbs your way. I tried to give them to my skin-n-bones DS9, but fat just doesn't stick to his body! :rotfl:

Rizel, I had martinis at Outback and they are anything BUT low-cal!!! In fact, they are probably more than I estimated from FitDay, but I am going to turn a blind eye to that fact...

Remember you need to eat 3500calories OVER whatever calories you need a day to gain! That and your basal metabolism, You did great that day. I did a test once, i need 1809 cals to maintain my weight if i was BEDRIDDEN! So keep that in mind. You did a great job and will continue to do so!

I get paranoid too sometimes, but you should enjoy life, you've been doing so well, a treat is in store once in a while. This past weekend, i gave myself no limits, i ate whatever i wanted but i gave myself 3 rules. 1) No more than one serving 2) No overeating 3) don't eat if i'm not hungry. I actually did well, even at all you can eat sushi!

You can do it! Stay strong! :goodvibes

I made it through another weekend! It wasn’t perfect, but it was WAY better than past weekends. Still at 135 this morning, but I actually feel thinner and was a little surprised I wasn’t at 134. Hopefully I will be before the weekend! These last 10 lbs are going to be tough! But I don’t care if it takes me 6 months, they are going to come off whether they like it or not!!! I did cheat a little and had some PB Toast Crunch (what is it with me and that cereal!?!?!? :confused: ) and an extra Crème Saver last night. I had 3 small handfuls of cereal, so I will count it as one serving (3/4 cup).

I will make my exercise goal after today’s workout! :cool1: Last month I didn’t make my goal until the very last day. This month I have a couple days breathing room… The plan du jour (1312 cal):

B-Oatmeal (1 packet); FF Yoplait Yogurt; Cantaloupe (1 cup
L-Romaine (2 cups); Egg Whites (3); Cheese (1/8 cup); FF Dressing (2 tbsp); 10 Mini Rice Cakes; DC
S#1-Grapes (1 cup)
S#2-FF Cottage Cheese (3/4 cup); LF String Cheese
D-Pork Chop (1 thin cut); Broccoli (1.5 cup); Mashed Potatoes (1/2 cup); Crème Savers (4); Reese's Puffs (1/2 cup) :guilty:
WORKOUT-Walking (30 min))

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rizel, thanks for the encouragement. I will be having a free-for-all this weekend when we go to Mexico. It won't be so much eating (I have trained myself to avoid chips-n-salsa) but drinking... :blush: I did get some SF margarita mix, so that should help a little! And if I gain a lb or two, OH WELL, I know I am going to have a blast!!! :teeth:
You are so right! What good is having a vacation if you don't enjoy yourself? If you can get down a few more pounds this week, you won't have to worry about ol' 137 sneaking back up on you! He's gone forever!! Just remember to pack your food slapper and you'll be okay!! :flower:
You beat me this weekend, Amy even with the martinis & soup! I went overboard on chocolate chip cookies & Long Island iced teas. The cook at work keeps making homemade cookies for the weekend & I just can't turn them down! Back when I was thin & didn't gain weight I used to make a huge batch, store half in the freezer & nibble on them everyday. Those days are gone forever. My metabolism just won't listen anymore!
Congrats for meeting your workout goal this month!
Amy,
You did a great job this weekend. I don't think that you did too bad at the Outback! Way to go on keeping your head on when you were visting your friends. That is always a tough one!
Keep up the good work. You are doing a great job! You will make your goal of 134 by the time you leave...I just know it
Way to go on the exercise.
Yeah mexico!!! Vacations are awesome, remember to keep hydrated though! :cool1: Your doing great great great! I'm going to keep my eye out for some low calorie margarita's.
http://www.recipezaar.com/6460
That's apparently a 7 calorie margarita per (60g) serving :sunny:
http://www.recipezaar.com/r/q=margarita
search results for margaritas, i took a look and they are all around 7-12cals per serving?
http://www.recipezaar.com/r/195/278/pg=1
That link should take you to a search page with results for low calorie cocktails. I took a peek, and there's a guava bellini in there for 45cals :cool1:
XD have a great day!
I didn’t make my exercise goal yet. I went home early yesterday with severe stomach pains so I didn’t make it to the gym. :sick: The nurse here at work thought I had appendicitis, but I didn’t feel sick like that. I went home, took a nap and when I woke up I was fine… Must have been gas or something! :confused3 I walked to the school to pick up DS, so I did get in ½ hour of walking, but I am still 10 minutes short!! I will make my goal today since I count 10 minutes of walking to and from the parking lot (it is 5 minutes each way and I walk brisk enough to raise my heart rate). I was SO close to 134 this morning!!! :hyper: It switched over to 135 at the very last minute. I have to behave tonight (NO CEREAL!) so I can claim that extra lb tomorrow on my weekly weigh-in. Come on 134, don’t be shy! You can stay on the scale tomorrow, really!!! ::yes:: For today (1396 cal):
B-FF Dannon Yogurt (3/4 cup); LF Granola (3/4 cup); Cantaloupe (1 cup)
L-Romaine (2 cups); Cheese (1/8 cup); Grilled Chicken (4 oz); FF Dressing (2 tbsp); Graham Cracker (1); DC
S#1-Nectarine
S#2-FF Cottage Cheese (1/2 cup); LF String Cheese
D-Beef Stroganoff (in crockpot – 3/4 cup) w/Wheat Egg Noodles (1/2 cup); Crème Savers (4); Reese's Puffs (1/2 cup); SF Jello cup; Mini Rice Cakes (7) :guilty:
WORKOUT-Walking (10 min)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Karyn, I will be packing a food slapper AND a drink slapper, so I think I'll do OK! Actually, after 2 semi-successful weekends, I think I can make it through without doing too much damage. I never want to see my ole friend 137 again!

Jane, cookies are evil. I don't know what it is, but they should be illegal... I can't believe you used nibble and cookies in the same sentence! That is an oxy-moron!

Jamie, thanks, you are my "out-to-eat" role model! You always make such good choices when you go out! I hope you are right about 134 - I'm so close!!

Rizel, thanks for the links, I will have to check out those recipes! I :lovestruc guava AND bellinis, I will definitely have to try that one!

You are doing great - I bet you will hit that 134 soon!!!!! I'm thinking good thoughts so it happens anyway!!!!!

I know what you mean about those last pounds. I feel like I've been stuck in this same spot that I've been in for a week now, even though it hasn't been that long. But it's not budging like I'd like it too - I think that messes with our patience definitely!!!!! But you CAN do it and WILL do it!!!!!

Keep on :banana: :banana:
Chris

Amy, I didn't even check your total goal for the exercise challenge. I saw that you had passed 1000 minutes & assumed you had reached goal. Anyway, you're almost there!

Glad to hear that you don't have appendicitis - that would put a damper on your Mexican vacation! Stay healthy!

I am REALLY struggling right now! I want to go on a snack binge! I don't know what the deal is - TOM is not even close! I had a graham cracker with my lunch today instead of my usual 7-10 mini rice cakes. I've been disappointed ever since! Those 4 measly graham rectangles did not get rid of my carb craving! They just aren't crunchy like the rice cakes, plus with rice cakes I get to eat twice as many...

I just finished my nectarine, but now I am in a very bad place... My boss has a stash of chocolates that I have not touched since I started WISH in late June, but they are calling my name. I just popped another piece of gum in my mouth - I swear I am going to need jaw surgery after all the gum I've chewed today. I hope this feeling goes away soon! I want my 134 tomorrow!!!!!! I don't want to blow it! :scared: :crazy2: :hyper: :yo-yo:

Amy, you're doing GREAT!!!

You DO NOT need those snacks now! You WILL make your 134 tomorrow. Just keep focused! Drink some water. Have a diet soda w/o caffeine, Just DON"T go for the chocolate!

Your mexico trip sounds AWESOME!!

Have a great evening! I'm looking forward to seeing 134 TOMORROW from you!!

Hi Amy,

How did it go yesterday??? I hope you didn't give into the chocolate?????? I am sure that you didn't. You did the right thing and came here. Way to go!!!!!

You are doing great. Congrats on making your exercise goal.....that is great.

Keep up the great work. It will pay off.....134 here you come!!!!!! :banana: :banana: :banana: :cheer2: :cheer2:

How'd it go yesterday? I hate when cravings overtake me like that. Hang on! Its almost time for Margaritaville! :banana: :banana: :banana:

134 today!!!!!!!! :cool1: I am so excited!!! :banana: :banana: :banana: I didn’t do that great last night (2 small handfuls of cereal, 7 mini rice cakes and a SF Jello cup – all after dinner :guilty: ) but I still lost that stubborn pound!!! I really struggled after lunch yesterday – I haven’t felt that frenzied for snacks in a LONG time. NOT a good feeling… Writing down that last ranting post really helped me get through it. It made me realize that I wanted to be at 134 before vacation instead of eating junk and ruining all my hard work these past couple weeks. Now I have my eyes set on 133… That’s motivation to not go overboard on the margaritas this weekend! ;)

I also met my exercise challenge! :goodvibes I still plan on going to the gym today after work, so I am not giving up just because I made my goal… I might even wake up early on Friday and either do Pilates or go to the gym before we leave at 8:30. But we’ll see how I feel when that alarm goes off and I know I can sleep in… :rolleyes1 I am having a turkey cheeseburger tonight (rare treat!). DB is going to cook them on the grill – YUM! For today (1332 cal):

B-FF Dannon Yogurt (1/2 cup); LF Granola (1/2 cup); Banana
L-Romaine (2 cups); Grilled Chicken (4 oz); FF Dressing (2 tbsp); 7 Mini Rice Cakes; DC
S#1-Apple
S#2-FF Cottage Cheese (1/2 cup)
D-Turkey Cheeseburger (4 oz) w/Wheat Bun; 5 French Fries; Cauliflower (1.5 cup); Crème Savers (4)
WORKOUT-Weights (20 min); Treadmill (25 min); Walking (10 min)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Julie, Jamie, Jane, I did avoid the chocolate yesterday! I did oversnack a little in the evening, but nothing too damaging - probably 110 calories overboard, instead of 400 calories of Ben & Jerry's :teeth: Thanks for all your support, I would have gone off the deep end if I didn't have this board to keep me in line! :grouphug:
:cheer2: :cheer2: Yeah congrats on the 134!! :cool1: :cool1:
133 is only a pound away! Hopefully 133 will be well mannered and not be stubborn! Your doing great! Your late night snack wasn't bad at all. You can do this.
Have a great day!
