Amy's New Start : Comments Welcome!

Amy, that is what I do when I get ice cream. I ask for a kids size scoop and eat just enough to satisfy me. Mint chocolate chip is my favorite. :cloud9: Sounds like you did have a very healthy day and :yay: for the new store. I remember you have been waiting for it to open.

Have a great day Amy.:goodvibes

Sounds like you are doing a great job, Amy!!! Keep up the good work!:cheer2:

We're getting ready to make ADRs in a few days and I was wondering...Have you ever eaten at Narcoossees (sp?) or at Big River Grill and Brewing Works? If so, did you like it? Thanks!:goodvibes

Hope you have a great day today!

Tracy, I have done Big River Grille and we liked it. We enjoyed an early lunch there, we sat outside right on the Boardwalk and it was very nice. Dh liked the beer, and we all thought the food was very good. It wasn't a standout meal per se, but then again, sitting outside with that view was!

As for Narcoose's, I haven't. But I have a good friend who has and she and her husband love that place. They get the surf and turf steak and lobster and just rave about it. The next time we do a signature meal, that will be our pick.

Can't wait to hear what you pick for your ADR's!

Thanks for the info, Amy! I can't wait to make our dining reservations!

Hope you had a great day today!:goodvibes Have a wonderful Friday!:wizard:

Well at long last I am finally getting on to post!

I weighed in today and was down 3 pounds! I was so happy, that puts me at 10.2 pounds in 8 weeks. It feels so good to be in double digits and out of a decade with my weight. I hope not to see that decade again, EVER!

I did pretty well with food today, but I didn't get in one fruit or veggie. Very bad. I also didn't get in enough water. So tomorrow needs to be better in those areas. And to further my confession, I haven't worked out since Wednesday. So I need to make that up too.:rolleyes1

I have so much to do this weekend, I have not done much in the way of getting ready for WDW and since we leave three weeks from now (I should be on the ME about to pull into Pop Century three weeks from now ) I need to get started. I can see we all need some new things to wear and we have a lot of odds and ends around the house to get squared away before the trip. Luckily we have absolutely nothing planned this weekend other than church on Sunday so that should help!

Thanks so much for reading, I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Lisa: My Friday went great beginning with tha weigh in!

Tracy: I'll be anxious to see what ADR's you have going. Can you believe it, we are only doing one full serve for a ten night stay! Its holiday pricing and the regular DDP is $47.99 per person and we'd be paying almost $170 for any dinner buffet. Not happening!

:woohoo::woohoo:
Way to go Amy! 3 pounds!:thumbsup2 You rock girl!:cheer2: What a great way to start the day and the weekend.

I can't believe you will be there in three weeks. Ohhhhh, I am so happy for you! :cloud9:

Have a wonderful, wonderful weekend. You are in the beginnings of pre-Disney mode. :cloud9:

(don't forget those vegies and water):thumbsup2

Congratulations on your weight loss, Amy!!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: I am so proud of you! I'm in a new decade weight wise too and it is such a great feeling!:yay: Keep up the good work!!!:cheer2:

Pre- Disney mode.....LOVE it!!!! I think planning and preparing for a WDW vacation is just as much fun as the actual vacation itself. :goodvibes Have fun!:wizard:

Have a wonderful weekend!

Woo hoo! You are doing great on the weight loss! Glad to hear about those pounds melting away.

Amy, you said you all are using ME. Are you going to use Disney buses the whole time or will you be renting a car?

Wow, Amy!! 3 lbs is HUGE!!! I'm very proud of you! New decades are always good!

Have a great weekend!!

Amy, you said you all are using ME. Are you going to use Disney buses the whole time or will you be renting a car?

No rental car for us. We used to do that, but I swear ever since ME came into play, we cannot get good rates for a rental. And to be honest, dh enjoyes the break from driving as do I. We both do a ton of driving each week so we enjoy letting Disney drive us. I also think it sort of evens out as far as bussing vs. driving to the parks. You have to wait for the tram, walk back and forth to your space (and we always get the last space lol) and with MK in particular its easier to bus. But I do really miss being able to go offsite to eat, get groceries and go to the beach. Sometimes I think we should rent a car at the Swan for a few days but we never get around to it. I wish we lived close enough to drive so I could just have my own car which would also save me from flying which I basically do not enjoy!

So today is major, spring cleaning day. Ds is at a friend's all day and night, dd had a birthday party all day and so dh and I used our alone time to clean like maniacs. Took all the furniture out, did the baseboards, all the windows, the curtains on the windows that have them and scrubbed down every surface. I look like a frumpy housewife for sure today in my grimey sweats with no shower but the house will be better for it. I didn't make it to the gym, but tomorrow Dan and I plan to walk outside, its supposed to be nice.

I am sort of taking a free day today. So far I have done well, but I told Dan that tonight I would make beef nachos and we'd have some beer for our very own, post-housecleaning happy hour!

Lisa: I think you will enjoy Music. It used to be more for adults but once they added those daily games and nightly movies, that changed. Its icons are less Disney but they are still very cute and fun. I hope you like it!

Tracy: A decade gone is a decade not to be seen again by either of us!:thumbsup2

Barb: That three pound loss was pretty easy compared to other weeks when I have actually worked harder and loss far less. :confused3

Julie: Thanks so much, that is a huge loss for me, about three times my norm. Too bad all weeks aren't like this.

CONGRATS on the loss!!! :cool1::banana::woohoo::yay::cheer2: That is wonderful. All that working out is really paying off. :thumbsup2

I am so envious of your upcoming trip! I need a vacation SOOOOO bad! :goodvibes

Thanks Amy, I am pretty proud of myself.

You don't need a vacation, you get to go to India this summer remember?:rotfl: Just kiddig. Do you have anything planned coming up?

I swear I am so tired from all that cleaning I may have to go to bed pretty quick. We go the master and study all cleaned and it looks so nice. I looked through the final box of stuff I have that was my mom's things. Mostly her costume jewlery, old cards, some photos and just odds and ends. I enjoyed looking through it and putting a few things for Good Will, the rest I am just going to keep in that box. I have many things around my house as does my brother and sister, so its not like this box is the last stuff left, and yet it made me sad. You live your life and then it just ends up in a box in your daughter's closet. I found letters from people to her from 1972 saying how sorry they were to hear my dad died. I can't believe my poor mom went through all that at age 36. The older I get, the more I realize how much she went through.

Well I am off to eat my junky dinner. I feel I've earned it and I intend to enjoy every last, greasy bite!:cloud9::rotfl:

Amy want to leave early for your trip and swing by my house for a few days? I could use the help with some base boards and windows.:rotfl2:

Of course, if you were driving you could stop by!:goodvibes

I don't think you can consider today and off day. If you did the kind of cleaning I think you did, you had a great workout.:banana::banana: and are probably more tired than this banana if they would ever let him stop.

I hear you on the rental car $$. When I reserved mine, it was $110 for 6 days. And then they tacked on a mandatory service fee of $78!:scared1: Hello! $78 service fee? and I have to bring the car back with a full tank!:scared1: I think this is why I don't normally rent cars.

Great job getting all that cleaning done!:thumbsup2

Do you guys have any special plans at Disney? I'd love to hear about the details of your trip! ::yes::

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Hope you enjoyed your splurge dinner! :goodvibes

Ya, India for vacation - not exactly the R&R I was looking for! And no, I can't plan a single thing because we still don't know when the trip will be. I know the second I make any personal vacation plans that I'll find out when India is and it'll be smack in the middle of my vacation. So, I wait... :confused3

Don't you love a clean house?? I can't wait to get there again, although I am liking all the free time from not cleaning! :lmao: I figure WHY BOTHER until the reno is done!

You are doing great, keep it up! I bet you will make your pre-vacation weight loss goal. :wizard:

Thanks Ladies.

Well I am slowly being driven insane by none other than Disney! They've released room discounts for Easter travel. I think maybe they did this on Fri. or Sat. I was on disboards last night, minding my own business and see a thread on the rates board about this. Problem is, my TA is out of town and my TA owns my reservation. She does have someone covering who I emailed but I am not sure what all will be left to book on the discount. I am able to get a package at Port Orleans Riverside on Disney site for about $200 less than what I have at Pop Century. Now I will lose the $300 gift card I have at Pop, so it will in essence actually cost me $100 but I am okay with that. I love Pop however I love POR too. And my kids love that pool and dh loves the boat to DTD which takes him right to Wolfgang Puck Express. So this all came up very late last night, I spent a sleepless night wondering if this would work.

I was perfectly fine with Pop, now if I don't get this upgrade I'll be bummed. This SAME thing happened to me last trip. We could have upgraded to Wildnerness Lodge from Music for a good price but couldn't because dh's family couldn't get the same deal. Which was just the beginning of a long line of aggravations with that whole trip. If I miss out on an upgrade again, it will frankly stink!

Send me some pixie dust ladies that I get this worked out and don't go unhinged in the process!:rotfl:

Amy, I would call your TA this morning if possible. (I know some work by e-mail only). I know its probably too late to cancel the original ressie without penalty, so you can't even make the ressie at PO on your own. I would bug the heck out of your TA to make sure this gets taken care of ASAP!!!!

Good luck!

Denise, I have been bugging the dickens out of this gal believe me! It is so frustrating. They do only work by email and they actually own my reservation.

If I had enough money in my checking account, I'd rebook a whole new reservation just to be safe. But I don't, it's over 2K!

So I sit here checking email every 10 seconds and its beyond stressful.

Deep breath in, deep breath out! Worst thing that happens is that we stay at the resort we already booked, that we know we love. But just knowing we could be at POR for $200 LESS will be a hard pill to swallow.
