Amy's New Start : Comments Welcome!

I got my ADR's and I only held about two minutes! However, I had a hard time getting my times and I couldn't get one of them at all. So the moral of the story is call at 7:00, I didn't and the rep said now that its back at 90 days, people call early on the dot. So here they are:
Cape May Character Breakfast
Chef MIckey's Dinner
Yachtsmen Dinner
1900 Park Fare Dinner
Tokyo Dining Dinner (couldn't get Chefs de France at all that whole day)
Sci Fi Dinner
Boma Dinner
The Wave Dinner
O'Hana Dinner

I was bummed about Chefs but we also love Tokyo Dining (which will also be healthier) and dh loves that place. I accused him of calling and making 50 fake Chefs ADR's so I couldn't get in there!:rotfl:

Hope everybody is having a nice weekend!:)

It's official.....I'm coming with you! ;)If I start seriously dieting now, I can fit in your suitcase by the time you leave for WDW, right?:flower3: Just kidding! Your dining choices look almost exactly like the ones I hope to get for September.:thumbsup2

I understand your disappointment over WL. I feel the same way about BCV this year. I can't avoid BCV because my DH wants to eat at Cape May for dinner and wants to walk the Boardwalk as well. Oh, the things I do for my DH. :rotfl: :rolleyes1 ;)

I hope you have a great afternoon!

Amy - so many of those choices are on the list I've got going for my trip with mom later this year. I'm so glad you got the choices you wanted.

I'm going to sneak down there and join you at all your meals!

Diane and Tracy, I would love that if you and all my other Wish sisters were in WDW when I was! I have eaten at all of those places except The Wave. And like I said, call at your 90 day mark at 7:00 so you can get what you want, esp in Epcot.

Now that WL is a no go, I am toying with keeping my DL trip in October. I never cancelled my DLH reservation since its on DVC points. If I can get good airfare I think we'll still go. I just have to see how far I can stretch this IRS refund!

Food today not stellar AGAIN. We went down to Colorado Springs to see my sister and have lunch at a Mexican place. I brought half my dinner home but the chips and salsa were a bit out of hand. This is what happens when I skip breakfast and arrive starving to a Mexican place. I had a very light dinner (like two bites of chicken breast) and Dan and I did walk for 45 minutes. But I need to get back on track with food tomorrow. I did slam 128 oz of water today so that was good.

I am off to finish my WDW budget. I am determined to get that done tonight so that I know exactly what I need to save between now and then.

Ds gets his braces off tomorrow and it takes two appointments across town (ortho's nearby office didn't have an app't open) so it will be a hectic day. I am meeting my friend at the track first thing so I can get my walk in and I have leftover spaghetti planned for dinner so it should be good.

Ds also announced recently he is joining the Navy. The kid has been saying he would go into the military his whole life and I keep waiting for him to outgrow that. I can't believe that in four years he could be off to the Navy. Its terrifying I must say. But I am very proud of him too. Of course he's only 14 and could still change his mind.

Hi Amy,

Did you get your WDW budget finished? My WDW budget is one budget I don't mind working on. ;)

I hope you have a great Monday!

Yes Tracy, I got my budget finished! I agree, that is one budget I actually enjoy working on. I think I have figured everything in and I figured high so we should be good.

Ds got his braces off today, he looks so handsome. He now has a killer smile!

Today was a good day. I was extremely busy, ds actually had two ortho appts and they were both across town. I walked early with my friend for 45 minutes, managed to get the house cleaned up and dinner cooked in the midst of running around town to the ortho office. And Dan and I walked 30 minutes tonight. So I got in 75 minutes of walking which was good. Here is my food:

Breakfast: Soy shake: 4
Snack: 2 Burger King chicken fries and ten fries and two sips of ds' dr. pepper: (I treated him to lunch since his appt' ran over and he missed lunch at school. Didn't order anything for myself but of course I ate his leftovers!) 4 pts. for that not so healthy snack.:sad2:
Lunch: Sandwich: 5
Snack: Yogurt: 2
Dinner: Tortellini and salad: 10
Total: 25
That makes me 4 points under. So I guess maybe I'll eat something before I go to bed. Right now ds is at church so as soon as I pick him up, I'll figure that out. Cereal most likely.

I am beat but happy my day was good on the food and exercise front. I got my fat butt up those four flights of stairs at the track twice today. Hate it but I know its a good way to end the walk. Someday I'll run up those stairs just like Rocky did in the movie!:rotfl:

Great job yesterday, Amy!:cheer2: Glad to hear that you got your Disney budget figured out. :) Those are fun numbers to crunch!:thumbsup2

That's great that your DS got his braces off. :thumbsup2 I bet he'll be getting some extra attention from the girls at school in the next few days. ;)

I hope you have a great day! Happy St. Patrick's Day!:goodvibes

Tracy, ds did say this one girl in his science class told him he looked very nice! Honestly, it is weird for me to see my son, 5;7" tall, so grown up and thinking about everything from girls to the Navy. He told me he can vote in the next national election, I hadn't even thought of that! It goes so fast.

I walked this morning for 45 minutes and plan to walk another 30 with Dan. I am going to go ahead and post today's food to keep me legal and behaving!

Breakfast: soy shake: 4
Lunch: tortellini and a cookie: 10 (so didn't need that cookie)
Snack: fruit, 2
Dinner: Bean burrito and taco: 13
Total: 29

I am pretty excited, Dan and I get a night out on Friday. We have not been out, just the two of us since last summer. We thought about a nice dinner out but are committed to only one full service restaurant every three months and it doesn't seem fair to use that up without the kids! We have a Tokyo Joes coupon for a free bowl so I think we'll go there. And to a movie. Also, by not eating out at a full service, I can't drink or overeat so much. But on the 27th, I think we'll go to our favorite bbq restaurant with the kids and then no full service til WDW. Its amazing how much we are saving by never eating out at a sit down restaurant. But I do miss it!

Hope everybody is having a nice day.:)

You've had a great couple days!   Way to go getting all that walking in.

I remember when DS got his braces off the first time, it does make quite a difference! Now he has them back on for Round #2...

Sounds like everything is working out for your trip. Bummer you couldn't get the hotel to work out, but how much time do you actually spend in the hotel anyway?? You'll have fun no matter what, I'm sure.

That's great that you and Dan have a date night scheduled!:goodvibes

I'm glad to hear that you were able to get your Disney budget done. :thumbsup2

Have a great Wednesday!

Sounds like some good things are happening to my north! Despite the Mexican restaurant challenge, you're really doing quite well! Have a good rest of the week!

Thanks Amy, Tracy and Julie.

I have been so blue today. I think it started when dd woke up sick. She is home again, I hate for her to miss school again, and I am afraid she may be having another bout of the same crap we had three weeks ago. In fact, it started three weeks ago today, hope we don't have a complete family repeat!

But I think what really got me going was when I put out my Easter wreath. I took down my St. Patty's thing off my porch to put that up, and my mom bought me that Easter one. I got so sad, missing her. Easter was a favorite of hers. She always had a thing for bunnies, she had them all over her house so Easter just naturally was a favorite of hers. So many good memories that are fun to remember. But some days, its just harder than others. I miss her so much.

Dd wanted Chick Fil A. Its a fund raiser there for her school tonight and I told her we'd go and she was so disappointed (we were going to meet a friend of hers there). So I took her through the drive thru. She wanted nuggets and a Hi C and came home and ate maybe two bites. I got a sandwich no butter and a fruit cup. I was bad and had a few waffle fries. Then I decided to just throw the rest of them out. I didn't even order them, and I sure didn't need them! So the disposal enjoyed those.;)

I walked this morning with my friend for 30 minutes. We got kicked off the track by a P.E. class! Dh and I will walk tonight, I'll do 40 then so I get my 70minutes in. My friend wants to branch out so we may do an aquasize class at the rec center next week. I would love to get back and do a step class. I used to love that. But my knees can't take it at thsi weight, so more reason to lose the lard! Here is my food. I'll go ahead and post the day and hopefully stick to it!

Breakfast: Soy Shake: 4
Snack: Cookie: 2
Lunch: Chick Fil A sandwich: 7.5, fruit: 1, waffle fries, 2
Dinner: Lean Cuisine: 4

Okay, that is 20.5 points. 8.5 under. So I guess I'll be eating something else! But that at least gives me rough idea of what I have to work with for the rest of the day.

Hope everyone is having a nice Wednesday.

great that you finished your wdw budget Amy :)
the adrs sound good :)
i hear you on DS - my DD told me the other day - ''when we go to wdw next year i'll have officially left school'' !!! she is staying on but it just hit home & then i realised that as we go to wdw every 2 yrs the next time after next yr she'll be 18 & might not want to come away with us :(
so next yrs trip is now officially DD's sweet 16 trip :)

Tracey, they do grow up so fast! I often think about what it will be like when they don't want to come with me and dh to WDW. I get sad. Then I start to plan it out in my head, and I get very happy!;)

Okay, nix the Lean Cuisine, I am having Chipotle. Burrito Bol with no rice. I love their rice but don't need those carbs. So my total points should come in right around 29. Didnt' get to the store today with dd being sick so I have nothing to fix for dinner. :sad2:

I think adults enjoy Disney more than children anyway! :woohoo:

Sending a gentle  your way.

How is your DD feeling today? I hope she is feeling much better!:wizard:

Great job on skipping the rice at Chipotle yesterday!:thumbsup2

I hope you have a great day ahead!

Sorry to hear you are feeling down. I hope you are feeling better about things today!

Great job planning out your food and not emotional eating. :thumbsup2

I can't believe DD is sick again! That must be one powerful virus. :sad2:

Hey everyone.

Amy, that is one powerful virus. It has killed several teenagers around the country, kids that were perfectly healthy and they suddenly died according to my doctor. Dd's one friend has missed a total of 9 school days in the last month. I called the doctor and they said as long as her fever is under 104 (she has none this time around) and that she is eating and drinking she doesn't need to be seen. But to watch for signs of anything serious. So far ds is fine as is dh, I am starting to sniffle again and my throat is a little sore. Could be allergies but I am pumping the fluids and trying not to overdo. I am so regretting not getting flu shots. I didn't this year for some dumb reason. We always had to when my mom was alive.

Thanks Tracy, that gentle hug found its way here and I do feel better. I used to feel almost weak or a failure when I had these days, now I just call them my Patty Days (my mom's name). Sometimes it'll just sort of hit me harder than others and now I just sort of let it happen and know that its part of life. She sent me a nice sunny day today and that helps!

I am also so thankful for my friend. She lost her job recently which is bad, but having her around to walk with me in the mornings is so nice and we've gotten to know each other much better (her son and ds are best buds). She lost a child years ago and she and I talked about that today and I told her some funny things about my mom. It helps. And having a walking buddy is really nice! Then Dan called and asked me to come have lunch with him. He says he can't stand to see me sad and wanted to make sure I was okay. Ahh, days like this remind me why I married that man! He's a keeper. And on that same note, my brother called today which surprised me. He has company and a lot going on this week but he was thinking about my mom too, so I guess we are on the same wavelength. Must be something in the air!

Seeing stepdad tonight. It was supposed to be dinner but I changed it to dessert (he always has sugar free ice cream on hand). He is on a restricted diet for his diabetes and blood thinning problems and he needs to eat different foods than we do and he needs to eat early, so it was easier. He wants to visit and catch up, and we don't need to eat to do that! I have the addendum to his will typed up and he says he will sign. I still cannot believe he changed what they had agreed on once my mom got too out of it to know the difference. The very idea that his kids, as things currently stand, will get things that have been in my family for years is appalling. Thank God I found that. Frankly, it pays to snoop. Although I snooped at my mom's request. I think she had somehow seen the will and then at some point remembered to tell me "I think you need to find that, it may be wrong" Its taken me 18 months to get to this point. Once he signs, I'll feel better and so will my brother and sister. They are not speaking to him at this point so they are relying on me to get this thing signed and notarized. Please keep your fingers crossed! I don't think he did this to be mean, I think he's old and has no idea what the ramifcations are of what he did. He still doesn't get it and that's fine, I just want to keep my parents and grandparents things in the family.

I walked 50 minutes this morning and Dan and I will walk a half hour tonight. Didn't get my second walk in yesterday as Dan worked late and I was wiped out and down. Its funny, I felt like a failure for only walking 30 minutes, not long ago that was my goal!

Food today has been good. I'll post later or maybe not at all. I am feeling too lazy to go down and get my journal! I do have a bunch of points left to eat and for some reason, if I don't that messes up my weigh in. So I have to make sure I get those in. Weigh in is tomorrow, I don't think I'll be down too much if at all, usually the week after a nice loss, I don't do as well.

There is some man in my meeting, I am telling you , he has lost 15 pounds in 3 weeks. Men don't have the same playing field we have to play on. No fair!

How did dinner go with your stepdad last night? Were you able to get the papers signed?

Great job on getting your walk in yesterday!:thumbsup2

That was so sweet of Dan to ask you to lunch.:goodvibes

I hope you have a great Friday! Happy 1st Day of Spring!:flower3:

Tracey, they do grow up so fast! I often think about what it will be like when they don't want to come with me and dh to WDW. I get sad. Then I start to plan it out in my head, and I get very happy!;)

lol - yes an adult only wdw trip would be great - and a lot cheaper :)

hope you got the papers signed!
is DD feeling better?

i watched BL last night & said to DH how unfair it is that men loose sooo much easier :(
