AmyM's Quest for a Better Bikini Body!

Glad to hear that your son is getting motivated! Who knows what goes on in their heads? Why in the heck would that lady want her kids in the gifted program if they weren't gifted? It would be misery getting a child in the program if they couldn't keep up.

Your eating looks great! :banana: I bet you'll be in great shape for Mexico!

Amy, thats great news about your son. And set that lofty goal, I set one too, sometimes its good to aim high right? Your food sounds good and that woud be a good idea NOT to put Romaine in your eggs! What about Bok Choy? I love Bok Choy and it cooks nicely and is good raw too.

I didn't do all that great yesterday. Could have done without the soy nuts and the trail mix... :confused3 I also ate too many SF Creme Savers and I got the most horrible gas pains! I couldn't even walk at one point, it was awful. I won't be making that mistake again! Today is a new day and I need to focus if I want to lose a couple lbs by Mexico. Oh, and that might be next to impossible since I will be travelling to the UK Oct 1-6! :hyper: I am excited about that, but not excited about the possible weight gain the week before I will be spending 4 days straight in a swimsuit... I'll have to really behave myself while I am on travel. That might prove difficult since I will be eating out every day, not to mention airplane food. I'll do my best! Last night DS stayed up until 9pm (usual bedtime is 8:15) studying for his social studies test (he had to label all the NE states with their abbreviations and capitols). I gave him a quiz this morning and he nailed it! :cheer2: So hopefully he will do well on his test today (where is the finger crossing smilie?). Yesterday I drank 100oz water; 16oz Green Tea w/Splenda; 16.9oz Diet Green Tea; 10oz Crystal Light:

6:15am: Chocolate Oatmeal
8:30am: LF Cottage Cheese (3/4c); Strawberries (1c)
11:30am: Romaine Salad (w/chicken, red pepper, cheese, dressing); Soy Crisps (18)
2:30pm: Low Carb Yogurt; Pear
5:00pm: Soy Nuts (1/3c) :sad2:
6:30pm: Crockpot Beef Roast (4oz); Onion; SF Jello; Trail Mix (1/2c) :sad2:
WORKOUT: None
RESISTED: More trail mix (yes, even after eating 1/2c!); Cereal; Chocolate Graham Sticks

Jamie, it seems if I avoid PB, I will overindulge in something else. Sometimes I think I need a hypnotist to get rid of my fascination with food! Even though I eat mostly healthy stuff, I still eat way too much... :rolleyes1

Jane, I have no idea what some parents are thinking. Like it's an honor to have a gifted child. Let me tell you, it's no walk in the park! I should let them spend the week with my DS and all his bizarre behavior and questions. We'll see how cool they think it is then, when the principal has them on speed dial! :rotfl:

Amy, I have not tried Bok Choy, I might have to do that if I can't get my beloved spinach soon! Today I am having a spinachless sandwich for lunch. I'm already bummed, it looks so bare...

ooohhh your coming over :)
Where are you heading in the UK?
Why dont you pop over for a cuppa :)
Glad DS seems to be back on track.
I have thought the same thing about my DD... hitting the teens & turning into a little monster, she is such an angel right now, when is that bubble gonna burst!!!
She hits 13 next year, so fingers crossed :)

Have a great time in the UK. You sure get to travel a lot. :sunny:
I hope they bring back your spinach soon; although, romaine is one of my favorites. I don't blame you for eating the trail mix. That stuff is really good. I can never stop once I get started. I keep wanting to make up some but I'd probably eat half of it!

Amy, that didn't sound too bad with your food. You made some really good choices too don't forget! Thats exciting going to the UK, I remember you mentioning you would travel internationally with your new position so I guess that time has arrived! Hope you ds did well on his test! I am on pins and needles waiting to see what my son got for his project grade. Being a mom is stressful in so many areas! I don't think my mom ever thought about my grades until report cards were mailed out. Things are so different now, I feel like if I don't ride my kids every day of the school year I am not doing my job! Try the bok choy, its really tasty! Sort of cross between cabbage and romaine. Next time you eat creme savers, chase them down with a Gas X tablet!

I did pretty good yesterday with food. I only had 1 SF Creme Saver so my digestive system was very happy with that... :rolleyes: DS said he did really good on his states quiz even though he did not get the grade back yet. Of course he managed to forget his cello and DH had to take it to him on his lunch break. I tell ya, if it's not one thing it's another! I have been running around like a headless chicken this morning trying to get stuff ready for my upcoming biz trip. Greece still might happen at the end of October. That would be awesome, I can't wait to find out (I'll know more within the next couple weeks). I'm just hoping it happens before my cruise... I though it was cute yesterday because DD wanted to walk to soccer practice (about a 5-10 minute walk). DH was taking her and definitely DID NOT want to walk, but DD told him that walking was healthier than driving! And of course he couldn't argue, so they walked. :thumbsup2 Yesterday I drank 100oz water; 16oz Green Tea w/Splenda; 16.9oz Diet Green Tea:

6:20am: Egg Beaters (½c) w/Morningstar Farms Meatless Crumble (2/3c)
8:30am: LF Cottage Cheese (3/4c); Strawberries (1c)
11:30am: Turkey-Pepper Jack-Mustard on 7 Grain; Cucumber
2:30pm: Low Carb Yogurt; Apple
6:00pm: Taco Salad (w/romaine, ground turkey, red peppers, cheese, LF sour cream); SF Jello; Honey Nut Cheerios (1/3c)
WORKOUT: Weights (30min); Elliptical (35min)
RESISTED: Coconut Almond Crunch (DH actually ate a bunch of them!); Trail Mix, SF Creme Savers

Tracey, bummer that I will not be closer to you when I am in the UK! That would have been cool to meet a WISH buddy in person!

Jane, I really do love travelling, but I bet I will be hating it after this month if the Greece trip happens. If it does, I will have travelled to the UK, Mexico and Greece all in one month, followed by a cruise the first week in November. That might squash my travel bug for a little while!

Amy, I hear ya on the stress! Sports are the worst. It really kills me when DS was pitching last year in baseball. I would have been mortified if he would have hit someone! And when he is up to bat I am always holding my breath that he doesn't strike out... Grades are the same way. I am giving the Creme Savers a break for a while. They are not worth the agony! Of course I shouldn't be eating 7 in one evening either... :rolleyes1

:thumbsup2 That taco salad looks good! Great job on the workouts too. With all of the travelling you're doing you'll definately be busy. I'd hate to have to pack for those trips!

I agree. That taco salad sounds really good. I confess to have never made ground turkey before! Good job on getting cardio AND weight training in with your busy travel schedule. Keep up the great work!

I am glad DS has made a turnaround. What fun to go to the UK and I hope the Greece trip comes through too. Even with all that travelling, I doubt the "travel bug" will stay squashed for long. :rotfl2: Those will be some pretty good FF miles too for your WDW 2007 trip! :cheer2:

Have a great weekend. :sunny:

Those 5pm snacks are KILLING me!!!!!!! I need to get a grip and cut it out! I'm probably not really hungry, just a bad habit and mindless eating. :confused3 Weigh in this morning was 138. I still have 1 lb of that overnight mystery weight hanging on, but at least it is going down even if it is s l o w l y. No big plans this weekend, so I should be able to stay on track with no problem. I am taking the kids to see a movie on Sunday while DH is golfing. I haven't decided on the popcorn issue yet. I probably won't get one, just have a DC instead. Maybe take a Balance Bar or something. Yesterday I drank 100oz water; 8oz Green Tea w/Splenda; 16.9oz Diet Green Tea; 12oz Crystal Light:

6:15am: Chocolate Oatmeal
10:30am: LF Cottage Cheese (3/4c); Strawberries (1c)
11:30am: Romaine Salad (w/chicken, red pepper, cheese, dressing); Cucumber
3:00pm: Low Carb Yogurt; Apple
5:00pm: 10 Macadamia Nut Halves; Coby Jack Cheese (3/4oz); Chocolate Chip Cookie
6:30pm: EFL Chicken Quesadilla; SF Jello
WORKOUT: None
RESISTED: Another cookie; Trail Mix; PB

Jane, I don't mind packing when it's just for me. Throw a couple kids in there and that's when I hate to pack... I might be able to get by with just a garment bag for my UK trip. I also have to go buy a black blazer since I never get that dressed up for work - they dress more formally over there.

CJK, I love the taco salad with sour cream instead of dressing. I only use ground turkey, I can't even tell you the last time I cooked ground beef! My kids would probably freak out. :teeth:

Anna, I figured out if I get the Greece trip and fly on BA, I will have over 36k miles just from those two trips. That'll get 1 WDW ticket! And I will most likely be travelling to the UK a couple times a year, and that is 15K miles each trip. So I should be able to get a couple free tickets out of the deal. :yay:

Have fun at the movies. Let me know if you see anything good. I won't even try to pretend to advise you to take a Balance Bar since you know how well I do at the theater! However, thats a great idea!

You're going to Great Britain, Mexico, on a cruise & possibly Greece. I'm going to Disney World. :sad2: At least I'll be at Epcot & can pretend. Come to think of it - they need a Greece at Epcot. Have a great time. I'm a bad flyer anyway.

Congratulations on losing the mystery lb's :)
Have a great time at the movies, what are you going to see?
5pm snacks - what if you alter your clocks :)
Hope you have a great weekend

I can't believe it, I weighed myself this morning and the scale said 136!!!! :thumbsup2 And yes, I got on and off several times, just to make sure... Why couldn't it say that yesterday?!?!?!?? Hopefully I will be able to maintain and not blow it this weekend. I feel thinner too, which makes me think all the mystery weight was water. Yippee, what a way to start my weekend!!!! :cheer2: I did great with food yesterday and even went to the gym although I almost talked myself out of it. It was funny because I saw one of my old co-workers there, who usually NEVER goes on Fridays and he said he actually drove through the parking lot, pulled out, then pulled back in. I've never been THAT close, if I decide not to go, I just don't go! :rotfl: Yesterday I drank 100oz water, 16oz Green Tea, 16.9oz Diet Green Tea, 12oz Minute Maid Light and 1 glass of Reisling:

6:15am: Egg Beaters (1/2c) w/Red Peppers; 2 Morningstar Farms Sausage Links (not impressed, but they were good when chopped up and added to the eggs)
9:00am: LF Cottage Cheese (3/4c); Strawberries (1c)
11:30am: Romaine Salad (w/chicken, red pepper, cheese, dressing); Cucumber
2:30pm: Low Carb Yogurt; Apple; Almonds (1.2oz)
6:45pm: Grilled Chicken; Green Beans; 7 Grain Bread-n-Butter (1); SF Jello
WORKOUT: Weights (30mi); Treadmill (30min)
RESISTED: Biscuits w/dinner; Trail Mix; PB; Chocolate Chip Cookie
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jane, I don't know what we are going to see, but it will be animated! I want to see Open Range, but it doesn't start until this Friday and the kids go to their dads. All the cool kid movies have been on his weekends this year! :furious: What are you griping about, WDW is AWESOME!!!! I can't wait until we go next Christmas. Besides, you won't have the killer jetlag I will...
Tracey, I love your idea about changing the clock! :rotfl: Unfortunately my warped mind would see right through it. I did resist the 5pm urge yesterday by drinking a Minute Maid Light (5 calories) right when I got home. I guess I should make that a habit! :teeth:
Yesterday was a typical weekend day, full of temptations and bad choices... :confused3 I actually didn't do TOO awfully bad, but there were a couple snacky things I could have done without. The good thing is that the Almond Coconut Crunch is GONE!!! DH has been eating it and I helped him finish off the bag last night. I love the stuff, am glad I got to enjoy it, but I am not going to buy it again! :teeth: DD's soccer team lost again (3-2). It was better than last week's total crushing (9-1). She has not been giving it her all, just like DS was doing his last year. But she says she loves to play, so maybe she is just out of shape. I told her I'd go jogging with her around the block to help her build up some stamina. She liked that idea. We'll see if it ever happens, we are just so busy during the week! I actually did my pilates DVD because I noticed myself wandering around the kitchen and I still had an hour until lunchtime. I was shocked that I pulled that one off! Yesterday I drank 80oz water, 20oz Crystal Light, 12oz DC, 12oz Minute Maid Light:
7:30am: Oatmeal (1/4c); Apple (1/2); Raisins (2tbsp); Stevia & Cinnamon (thanks Jane, I LOVE this breakfast!)
11:00am: LF Cottage Cheese (3/4c); Apple (1/2)
1:40pm: Veggie Burger; 7 Grain Bread-n-Butter (1)
4:00pm: Colby Jack Cheese (3/4oz); Low Carb Yogurt; Trail Mix (1/4c); 2 Almond Coconut Crunch
5:30pm: 4 Yogurt Pretzels, Yogurt Raisin/Peanut Mix (1/4c) :guilty:
7:15pm: Grilled Tequila Lime Turkey; Wax Beans; Whole Grain Alfredo (4 bites); SF Jello
9:30pm: 3 Almond Coconut Crunch :guilty: :guilty:
WORKOUT: Pilates Sculpt DVD (55min) :cheer2:
RESISTED: More yogurt pretzels & raisin mix (I have to stop letting the kids pick out "treats" at the store!); more trail mix
Hi Amy
Sounds like you had a pretty healthy weekend :)
Congratulations on the loss :)
Hey Amy WTG on the loss!!!!
Send some of that "loss" magic here will ya? I'm still waiting on mine... :rotfl2: :sunny:
My bad day all started with the little bimbo at the movie theater concession stand... I ordered a Kid Pack with an Icee and another small Icee. She got screwed up and gave me 2 Kid Packs with Icees. I corrected her and she said that I couldn't get the small kid sized Icee unless it was with a Kid Pack. The next size up was 24oz! Of course DS wanted it (NO WAY) and can't have the popcorn in the Kid Pack because of his braces. So like an IDIOT I said just give me the 2 Kid Packs and I ate the popcorn. Of course that is in addition to the cheese and apple I smuggled in... :guilty: Plus a couple bites of DS's heavenly Cinnabon pretzel. :guilty: :guilty: Then the carb fest just got out of control. I guess I was so excited about those 2 missing lbs that I wanted to invite them back, plus one of their friends... Yep, 3 lbs up from Sat, but there is no mystery this time, I KNOW what caused it! :sad2: I guess the bright side is that it should be gone by the end of the week and I got the carb binge out of my system before I travel. I am really worried about gaining while traveling since I will be eating out every single meal. Portion control will be the key. I feel super bloated and gross today, so I don't think I'll have any problems behaving. I just checked the calendar and it has been 3 weeks since my last "TOM" so I can safely blame PMS for a couple yogurt covered pretzels... ARGH!!!!!!!!! OK, today is a new day and I am all set to put the bad weekend behind me. Yesterday I drank 100oz water, 32oz DC (@ movies); 18oz Diet Fuze:
7:30am: Oatmeal (1/4c) w/Apple (1/2), Raisins (2tbsp), Stevia and Cinnamon; Skim Milk (1/2c)
10:30am: Colby Jack Cheese (1.5oz); Apple (1/2); Kid Popcorn; 5 bites Cinnabon Soft Pretzel
1:00pm: LF Cottage Cheese (1/2c); Fiber Cake; SF Dark Chocolate (1/2 serving)
4:00pm: Trail Mix (3/4c); Carob/Yogurt Raisin/Peanut Mix (3/4c)
7:15pm: EFL Turkey Bacon Quiche (yum); Broccoli; SF Jello; 10 Yogurt Pretzels
WORKOUT: None (unless eating counts)
RESISTED: Obviously NOTHING :sad2:
Tracey, you might want to retract that last comment...
Kate, I think I took some of your lbs, you should be good to go! :teeth:
Now, you're reminding me of me!!! Don't you hate it when you do that? With all of your great workouts & good food eating it won't take long to get back down there!
Glad you like the apple cinamon oatmeal. Its always been one of my favorites.
Thank God the coconut cinamon crunch is GONE. Great job on your workout & especially doing pilates before dinner! :dancer: Thats dedication!
