I hope Beth is having fun--I wondered if her MIL lives near the fires . . .

It would be better with the sugar on the side then you could control it.

I hope she is too. Especially since she was feeling so icky before the trip. I think her in-laws aren't quite so far north. At least I hope not. Southern California fires are awful this time of year with the Santa Ana winds. It seems to me every year there are nasty fires somewhere in the southlands.

yeah tell me about it...I have to go over the grapevine when I come down and a couple years ago they were soooooooooo bad up there that I was afraid they were going to make me turn around...luckily it didnt happen but it was scary being so close to it and seeing everything black and soooo smoky...

My DH and I were down to Beverly Hills to do an exercise retreat with Richard Simmons in October of 2006 and it was right after a bad fire and it was awful. We are in Fairfield so I know all about crossing the Grapevine. I look forward to getting to the Grapevine because that drive down I-5 seems so terribly long.
