Next month is not soon enoughI cant wait!!
Isn't it great to be able to say our trips are next month??
Hey, thanks for reading along!Beth, I'm finally getting caught up with your report. Whew!![]()
So good, and funny of course!![]()
Next...................![]()
That is even better!! Yay for you guys!!It's even better to say "our trip is next week"!!!![]()
You'll be arriving the same day as me!
Oh, that would be fun! I hope you guys get to at least say hello to each other.Sweet! We will have to meet up for our own "mini meet"![]()
UGH!! Why is it I pick the worst dates EVER when it comes to Disneyland trips????? I always seem to do this.![]()
I just read on another thread today that in Utah they have something called the UEA (Utah Education Association) convention. It's basically a convention for teachers to attend, so the public schools in Utah are closed during that time.
Well, guess when the convention is???? October 16 and 17!! And I read that most of the families use that time as a chance to pack up and head to Disney for a nice long four day week-end. So many in fact, that it's also called UEA: Utah Escapes to Anaheim!!!![]()
Add to that the fact that some AZ schools are on break during that week and you've pretty much got a recipe for disaster.![]()
I've heard that the resorts are sold out! And with so many rides closed and Fantasmic down that will make it seem worse, since usually a good chunk of people will be watching the show and you can hit some rides then.
So I'm trying to convince myself NOT to freak out. I'm telling myself we'll be there from the 13th through the 19th, that's plenty of time to see and do everything we want to, even if it is HOT and CROWDED!! OK, calm down. Breathe.
I've been when it's crowded before. I can do this. I can read some of Hydroguys tips on how to tackle DL when it's PACKED and I can use Fast Pass, and RideMax and it will be fine. Right? Right???
The main thing is we'll be at Disney. (inhale)
I'll be with my family. (exhale)
We'll know ahead of time what to expect so we won't be caught off guard with hot weather and high crowds. (inhale)
The Halloween decorations will be up. (exhale)
Everything is going to be ok. (inhale)
There.....just keep repeating that. Don't panic. Think peaceful thoughts.(exhale) Ahhh, much better.

HELP!!!!
Hmmmm, rain might work!Well,
You could hope for a little rain that usually clears the place out.
7. It could be worse. You could be there on New Years Eve. EEK!![]()
I hope so. But you're right, it will be an awesome vacation!! I cannot wait.Ya, I think it's definitely possible (even probable) that it won't really be packed. But you're right - even if it is on a couple of the days that you'll be there, you're prepared for the possibility and you have ways to plan around it. It will still be an awesome vacation.![]()
I like the ticker you put up!! Never too early to start planning I always say.![]()

We always do. Gotta hit the Dollar Tree store for those.Breathe in, breathe out. Hey if you like rain, bring ponchos
HAve you really? Is it really packed? I just envision wall to wall people. But maybe not. It might be cool if as you said, it wasn't your one and only trip. You know what? We've been a few times on NYE, and it was awesome. It was just one big party, and Disneyland to boot. It just has to not be your one trip of the year or decade or whatever, because you won't get on many rides. But it is still the best NYE party we've ever been to.
2.23 million people live in Utah. Over 3 million live in Los Angeles, not even counting Orange County, San Diego, etc. You're better off w/a big portion of Utah people coming than a big %age of locals coming. Right?
It has been very busy, and when it's leading up to midnight, everyone stands out in Main St. and it's just wall-to-wall people, but the atmosphere (thanks to no alcohol)has been very friendly. They have music to dance to, and some years they've had a balloon drop. We have gone when it's been one price for all day and night, and times when it's been a separate ticket from the day. I can't tell you the last time we did it. It is definitely not covered on the deluxe annual passes, which is what we've had the past couple of years.HAve you really? Is it really packed? This New Year we are thinking of heading down to the Strip. Talk about crowded!!And everyone is drunk too. Actually Disneyland on New Years doesn't sound that bad after all.

Hi Jane!! Thanks so much for reading along!Hi,
I started reading a couple of days ago and just caught up. Love the thread!
First of all I want to thank you for keeping me so interested that I didn't get up and graze in the kitchen (the cookie pictures almost did me in).
I was so excited to see that some of the Halloween stuff is in the stores. I was afraid that going in September that we would miss it all.
I would love to see pics of DL on NYE! I bet it's really something. I think a big part of it has to do with you tolerence level for crowds. Some people can handle it and some can't. Same with here in Vegas. Some locals would rather have a root canal then go down to the Strip on really busy days but for others, it doesn't bother them.It has been very busy, and when it's leading up to midnight, everyone stands out in Main St. and it's just wall-to-wall people, but the atmosphere (thanks to no alcohol)has been very friendly.
