Well cold wise it gets bad some days below 0. Snow wise not so much lately, could be worse. A couple of years ago it snowed every other day for a week.

That is cold! If it's going to be that cold, I'd rather have the snow. At least then you can bundle up and go play in it.

My kids keep saying they miss the snow. I guess in a way I do too. I just hated that winter dragged on for sooooo long.

I'm finally in a house this year instead of an apartment so I hope we get a lot of trick-or-treaters! I love seeing all the costumes.

I'm one of those who gives directions like "Turn right at the Dunkin Donuts, go straight past Target, make a left at Blockbuster and another left at the big tree."

I'm the same way with directions. When people ask me to give them street names to get to my house, I have to let them know that I can't do it, lol. How bad is that?

I've had a really bad month, so when you go in October you have to have triple the fun for me!

I know what you mean. When Ruben and I first got married, we lived in a condo. Then we moved to a larger apartment in Burbank, where we stayed for 7 years.

In MI, we were finally in a house, BUT we were out in the country (read that as boonies) so we still didn't get any trick or treaters.

Last Halloween was our first here in this house and we finally had some trick or treaters!!!
It was also the first year we didn't all go around the neighborhood as a family though which was kind of sad.

Ruben had to stay behind to pass out candy, and Adam decided he was too old for ToTing so he stayed here with him, while I took all the girls out. It was still fun though. We came back early and got to see some of the different costumes on the ToTers.

Be prepared though, some of them can be rude! I always taught my kids from their first time going out to say "Trick or Treat" and "Thank-you, Happy Halloween".
Some of these kids, mainly the teens, would run up, demand candy and run away. A lot of them weren't even in costume, they just wanted free candy.

The ones I like are the cute little kids who walk up, kind of scared from all our decorations, lol, and say Trick or Treat in a little whisper. I told Ruben to give them extra candy.

In MI there was a house that was giving out full size candy bars! And last year here, there was a house that was giving out little Halloween stuffed animals. (Like beanie babies but generic)
We spent a small fortune on candy so I told Ruben that this year we better start buying a bag a week between now and Halloween.

Oh, and what's cool is my kids have Halloween day off. It's Nevada Day here so no school.

I wish I could come in October too! I've already decided that I will be renewing my AP, so I'll be one step closer to going on the Girls Trip in March!

When someone gives me directions, I ask them if they can give me landmarks like a funny looking tree or a Starbuck's or something.

I live down the road from what is considered a "rich" neighborhood, and they give out the full size candy bars too.

Ugh, you poor thing! Did you walk around with next to nothing on?? How could you stand clothes on when it's that hot? Just make sure you close the blinds first or the neighbors will get a free show. And there are no free shows, everyone pays.

How's the first week of school going? It already feels a lot longer for me. LOL Still trying to get into a routine I guess.

The pool area at HoJo was totally redone! The pics I've seen look amazing and they still have the garden pool (also redone) which is just a regular pool if you don't want to be where all the play equipment and kids are.

I had a skirt and tank top on. Skirts are much better than shorts, capris, etc. Just like Dumbledore, I like the circulation. As for neighbors getting a free show, since we got our hot tub, I often walk around the house in my bathing suit. I feel that if the neighbors are offended, they shouldn't be looking.

The first week has been ok, but long. I'm losing 2 kids, which is too bad, because they are 2 of my highest kids, and they'll be replaced when kids trickle in, so the new kids will be a wild card. Oh well, I still love my job.

My AP expires in Feb. and i doubt we'll be renewing any time soon. We'll just have to see what happens. There's always the stripper shoes, right?

I'm sorry about your APs expiring. I feel your pain on that. We won't be going back until 2011 as I've mentioned before. Well, I'll be going in March, but as a family it will be awhile. I hate that feeling.

Ah, I see. Ok, so that won't work. Just buy some you don't like so they won't tempt you. I can totally resist candies like Jolly Ranchers, sour candy, Skittles, etc.
But anything with chocolate, nuts and caramel, like a Snickers, and forget it! I'm all over that.

I heard the Entertainment Schedule is out on the DL website through November so I'm going to go check that out today and see if I need to make any adjustments to our plans.

I don't think I will, but we'll see.

I'm also considering whether or not to add a breakfast to one of our days. I pretty much planned on just eating breakfast snacks like muffins, fruits, granola bars, trail mix, etc in our room to save money. But now I'm wondering about eating that meal out one day.

NOT a character breakfast. Too expensive for 6 people and we are already doing Ariel's Grotto.

I've given time outs for hitting, refusing to participate, running in the classroom, and screaming in the classroom. If you get a timeout, no sticker at the end of the day. Needless to say, I've had some tearful kids going home without a sticker. But if I'm mean now, they'll shape up, and then we can have a fun year. Very much like being a mom.

That makes sense. You have to let them know right off the bat you won't allow any sort of nonsense. How can you learn with all that chaos going on anyway? And I know to my kids at that age, a sticker is a BIG deal.

OK, you helped me make up my mind!

I called Disney dining just now and was informed that as of Sept. 1 breakfast won't be served at Cafe Orleans. So that narrowed it down to Riverbelle and Carnation Cafe.

I went ahead and made a PS for Carnation but the earliest time she had was at 9:40. As soon as I hung up the phone, I immediately thought that's too late because by the time we are seated, get around to ordering, wait for the food, etc, it will be so late already and then it will mess with our lunch plans. Notice how my day is planned around food!

Then I read your post and that sort of sealed the deal. So I guess I'll be calling them back to cancel it. Then I can decide once we get there if we want to just stick with the in the room snacks OR go to Riverbelle. But at least I won't be locked into anything.

How are the pancakes at Riverbelle anyway? They are so cute! But sometimes they look kind of undercooked. Did you ever find that to be the case?

That's ok. I already called and canceled the Carnation Cafe breakfast. If I'd gotten an earlier time I might have kept it, but I felt it was pushing it to start eating that late.

We'll keep Riverbelle in mind for that day. I know my kids would love the Mickey pancakes.
