"Amuck, amuck, amuck!" A Pre-TR (link to TR in the first post)

Hey Beth

I'm all caught up. Loved seeing the pics of the kids when they were little! Let's see if I can remember all the things I wanted to comment on-

--I like Rainforest Cafe also, we've only been a couple of times but think it is a neat place and the food is ok, what I expect from those types of places

--I love that MNSSHP frame you have, very cute!

--I always order the club at Earl of Sandwich also, very good!

--I love pumpkin flavored stuff too. Is there a Firebirds Rocky Mountain Grill in Vegas? Their pumpkin cheesecake is the best I have ever had, even better than Cheesecake Factory.

--I hope you get to stay an extra day, extra days on vacation are always good!

--love the pics from last year at Halloween, it's so festive! I never take the time to appreciate all the decorations, I need to work on that, I am always too busy going to the next ride

--I like seeing pics from Disneyland, I am sure I will never make it out there

Looking forward to more on your trip!

You are so lucky to have an earl of Sandwich nearby! I would love it if they put one into DTD at DL.

Have you heard anything about the Anaheim GardenWalk? We were staying right next to it last time we went to DL (we were at the Plaza), but I don't even know if it was open then. It looks like they have a ton of restaurants. Here's the website:

Nice pictures. I've never been to Vegas so it's neat to see people's photos. Those sandwiches look pretty good...but the meatball one sounds like the one I'd order.

So you haven't picked a hotel yet, right? What ones are you thinking about picking?
Well, I'm booked at two places. The HoJo and a hotel in Buena Park that we usually stay at. Now I just need to choose one and stick with it. Maybe flip a coin.....

Maybe one day you and your DH will make it out to Vegas. It's a lot of fun and we used to come here on vacation when we lived in CA.

I think we need to petition the powers that be at Disney and Earl's to get together and put one in. :thumbsup2

I have heard of the Garden Walk. Apparently it's not doing too hot though. They need more advertising for it. It's been open for awhile now, but not too many visitors know about it.

They do have some wonderful restaurants there. I love the Cheesecake Factory and Caliornia Pizza Kitchen. Mmmmmm.

I'm not sure if we'll try to devote some time to hanging out there or not on this next trip. It would be boring for the kids since it's mainly shopping and dining. We'll see.

Hey Kendra! I'm so glad you made it over! :yay:

Thanks. :)

I think it's a neat place too. I'm thinking of taking Noelle there for her b-day in November.

Thanks, that's the only souvenir I have from our first ladies trip.

I don't know. I'll have to Google it and check! If there is, I'm getting some of their pumpkin cheesecake for sure.

I agree. I'm always telling Ruben that, but this is the first time he's thought so!

I usually am too. I think having APs has allowed us to slow down a little and appreciate things more. :goodvibes

Oh now, never say never! ;)

Looking forward to more on your trip!
Thanks, I'm glad your reading along. :flower3:

The first time we tried Earl of Sandwich was DTD too but we really weren't that crazy about it. When they opened up here I gave them another try and really liked it. My favoirte is the Florentine...yummy. OK now I'm hungry, I might have to take a ride up to the strip this weekend to get a sandwich.

:rotfl: Sorry for making you hungry! LOL At least you don't have to go far to satisfy the craving. ;)

OMG! I am so jealous. Those are the cutest pumpkins EVER!

Have you stayed at any of the hotels in Vegas?! If so which ones??:confused3

Yeah, but only a few. Let's see....

Luxor
Tropicana
Excalibur
Circus Circus
Terribles
Gold Coast
Planet Hollywood
Loews Lake Las Vegas Resort
Venetian
The Palazzo

Why, what's up?

Well we have reservations for Treasure Island, but I'm getting some great offers for some other hotels and wondering if I should change my reservations?? Right now it's between Treasure Island, Mandalay Bay, and NY NY?!

We've stayed at MGM, Luxor, And Excalibur before.

Excalibur had to be the worst hotel experience I've EVER had. It was HORRIBLE!!!

What happened at Excalibur??

Obviously it's up to you, but if you want my opinions, here ya go: (if not, stop reading now, LOL)

Mandalay Bay is nice, but you are so far down on the Strip. I don't like the location.

For some reason I've never liked NY NY. I'm not sure what it is. I just never liked that hotel or casino, and it's still pretty far down on the Strip, although not as bad as Mandalay Bay.

So I guess by process of elimination that leaves TI if I were choosing. I like their location the best. Or if you get any deals for Caesars or Mirage, those would be nice too.

Beth--I got some really cute travel sized toiletries at DLH. Some are used a bit, but is the bottle not the shampoo/conditioner that's worth saving.

PM me your address if you want them. Cute little Mickey ear lids that I think you'd just love :cloud9:

True, if you had said you collected jewelry, I probably wouldn't have kept an eye out for you while I was at DL. But toiletries, we'll that's awfully doable.

Okay, this has nothing to do with my trip report, but I was online looking for fun things to make for Halloween. Crafts, activities, food, etc.
I like to do fun things for the kids leading up to Halloween.

Anyway, I found this ummmm cake. It's, well, interesting to say the least. Ok, it's nasty looking, but I'm actually toying with the idea of making it!!

It's called a Kitty Litter Cake (that should be your first clue right there!) and here is a link to the recipe and some pics. A word of warning: if you're in the middle of dinner, you might want to not click on the link.

Has anyone ever tried this recipe?? Apparently it's pretty popular as there are a lot of websites that have it. I'm just not sure I could stomach eating it!!!! :scared:

Exactly. :thumbsup2
And if I said I collected jewelry my husband might have more of a problem with it then he does with the travel sized items. ;)
