"Amuck, amuck, amuck!" A Pre-TR (link to TR in the first post)

I was looking around online and found this great Halloween pic!!! I can't tell which Disney park this is though. Is this the one in Paris? Anyone know?

Oh wow, you are in for a treat!!! You're going to love it. Ask to sit in the very front. ;)

Oh yeah sure. Well it is in September so it could possibly be hot.

I have no clue but that is cool.

I think that is the DLP castle but I'm not positive. :confused3

I wanted to share this pic I found online of the DLP castle from the 5 yr anniversary.

Many thought the "cupcake" version of the WDW was bad! personally, I like both of them.... they're cute! The funny part was that the guy who took this picture of the DLP one had no idea it was an overlay and just thought that's the way it looked normally. I thought that was cute.

Every holiday?? Wow. That's a bit much. :rotfl:

Hey wait, are you trying to say that looks like something someone's older aunt would wear?!

;)

LOL Ok, so maybe it does, but the kiddos like it. :)

Well, she's worn them since she's been in her 30's or so. She's a teacher so she probably originally started wearing them for the kids.

Yeah, I know I'm supposed to be working on my "budget" trip plans, but that's no fun. So instead I was cleaning out some old pics in my Photobucket account (because that's so much more exciting) and came across some family pics. I can't believe how fast kids grow. Where has the time gone??? :sad2:

Anyway, I thought I'd share some pics of my munchkins back when they were all still little. Sorta like making people watch your old home movies. Feel free to skip right over this. ;)

Those photos are fantastic! I love the one of the twins sleeping.

Question: Does this orange color make it hard to read? I was using it because it's fit in with the Halloween theme of the trip, but does it make it harder for people to see? :confused3

I can read the orange just fine.

It's funny you mention this, because last night I was thinking about adding an extra day too. Just because I'd like to do a hollywood/LA tour. Husband doesn't know anything about this yet. I have to run some numbers to see if I can even make it work. But I thought that would be so much fun. :woohoo:

I can read it just fine.:confused3

I'm jealous of you guys! i wish we could add an extra day but I just don't think it'll be possible. I did add an extra disney day to our trip though. 3-day hopper instead of a 2. woohoo!

Wait, you mean you've never been on Splash Mountain?? Ever or just that trip? I LOVE that ride!!

I'm a little nervous about spending the day with my in-laws if they do in fact decide to join us. It will be great if they can watch the kids so Ruben and I can take the tour. But the rest of the day might be a total wash out because they move sort of slow, LOL, so I'm not sure how much we'd get done.
I think that's why Ruben suggested coming in a night earlier.

We'll see.

Right now my in-laws have AP's (they live in Orange County.) I feel a little evil because I'm really hoping they DON'T join us in the parks at all. We've done the park with them before...but it was when we lived there and had AP's too so it wasn't a big deal. But they have way different touring styles than us so I really don't want to have to do things someone elses way on our trip. I guess that makes me a bad daughter-in-law.

Oh my, well, that's certainly colorful isn't it?? :rolleyes1 Wow. :rotfl:

:goodvibes Thank you.

OK, good to know. Thanks guys.

Well, add me to the bad daughter-in-law club because while I don't have anything against my in-laws, (well, maybe a little bit) I don't want to tour DL with them! It's our last trip and I want to go, go, go!!
BUT if that's the trade off I have to make for them watching the kids so we can take the tour, then I'll do it because I really want to take the tour. I'm still waiting to hear back from them. I guess either way it's fine. I'm not hoping for one way or the other because they both plans have their pros and cons.

See, with my in-law's (well, my step father-in-law) I have the opposite problem. We like to walk around at a leisurely pace. Go on some rides, get snacks, people watch, and just hang out. My stepfather-in-law is a go, go, go kind of person. We aren't like that. And he gets annoyed if people walk slow, or when they want to take breaks and sit around. He also gets annoyed with my frequent bathroom breaks (I have kidney problems and have to drink a lot of water so it's not my fault I have to stop a lot....but he doesn't seem to care.)

Oh, well, that sucks that he's like that. I mean as you said, it's not your fault. I wouldn't want to tour with them either then.

We like to go, go, go, BUT not to the extent that we can't take a break now and then. I love to snack around the park, so we definitely take breaks for that. And I like to get a good spot for the parades and other shows so we sit down early and wait for those.
But my in-laws move veeerrrryyyyy sslllooooooowwwwlllllyyyyyyy. LOL I need them to pick up the pace just a tiny bit.

The only thing I cannot do, is make it to rope drop. I have NEVER been there for rope drop and probably never will be. LOL I just cannot get up and get going that early. :confused3 I can't believe people set their alarms to wake up at 5 a.m. :scared1:
The earliest I'll wake up is around 7 when I'm on vacation. So that is why we will probably never see rope drop unless I watch it on youtube. ;)

I've never made it to a rope drop either. I'm really going to try and make it to MM one day this trip though so I can ride Nemo. ((Wish me luck)) :wizard:

I've never been on Splash before either, Kao! The first time I went to DW it had not yet opened. When I went to DL for the first time, it was down. On all subsequent visits I was pregnant. So this will be a first. As odd as it sounds, I'm a little nervous. Space Mountain, and even the runaway train don't frighten me as much as the prospect of Splash.

OP, I look forward to reading your report, and I'm enjoying the pre. I never used to read those, but I find myself liking them since we are in the planning stages.

Do they do a rope drop when the park opens at 10am? I think when we go in January, a couple days it opens at 10. Not sure if they do anything for the rope drop though.

I'm like you...I cannot get up earlier than 7 on vacation.

Hi there! Thanks for reading along. :flower3:

Don't be nervous about Splash! You're going to love it. I'm a big baby when it comes to rides, so if I can do it, anyone can. :thumbsup2

ETA: I was looking at your sig and I see you have four kids as well. Little ones too! :goodvibes I bet you're busy.
When is your Disney trip? Are the kids excited about it?

I don't know. To be honest, I don't really know what goes on during rope drop anyway. :confused3 I've heard people talk about it but figured we'd never make it in time for one, so I didn't need to know that much about it. :rotfl2:

ETA: I just went to youtube, and sure enough there are videos of "rope drop at Disneyland"!!
I have to say, it kind of looks like a mad house. It says on the announcement not to run, and yet everyone is of course. I'm not entirely sure I want to be in that....... LOL

My husband was off today so we ended up heading down to the Strip to hang out for awhile.

I took a few random pics from the car while we were out driving around and just thought I'd share them here.

We got some free tickets to see a magic show at Planet Hollywood (Scarlett, Princess of Magic) so we went there and walked around the shops before the show. That's where I snapped a pic of this giant margarita outside of the La Salsa restaurant.
Thirsty anyone?

DSCF5318.jpg

The show was just ok. Kind of cheesy as far as magic shows go, but the kids liked it and that's all that matters. Before the show, we stopped for lunch at Earl's of Sandwich.

Now if some of you have been to DTD in Orlando then you are probably familiar with this place already. That's where I first tried it and was hooked ever since. I was thrilled when one opened up here in Vegas shortly after we moved here!! :yay:

Their food is really good so if you ever get the chance to try one, I would highly recommend it. Here is a link to their menu and some pics of what we ordered today:
http://www.earlofsandwichusa.com/food/sandwich.php

I had The Earl's Club - Roast Turkey, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Aged Swiss Cheese, Lettuce, Roma Tomato & Sandwich Sauce. It doesn't look like much, but OMG it's so good!! It's what I always order. Told ya I'm a creature of habit. :rolleyes1

Ruben usually orders the Cannonballs sandwich with meatballs, marinara, mozzarella & parmesan cheese. But today he decided to try something new and ordered the Caribbean Jerk Chicken sandwich with Grilled Chicken, Roasted Red & Hot Banana Peppers with a Spicy Jerk Sauce. (sorry this pic is kind of dark)
DSCF5332.jpg

I had a bite of his and it was good. Had a kick to it, but not too spicy. For the kids we ordered the kids Turkey and Swiss sandwiches. They didn't like it. I swear I have the pickiest kids on the planet.

We don't get there very often. Maybe 4 times since they opened last Fall. I think it would be GREAT if they would open one in DTD in Anaheim. I know it would do really well.

Anyway, just thought I'd share what we did today. Now I'm still waiting to hear from my inlaws if they are planning to meet us and watch the kids in October. They are taking their own sweet time giving us an answer and I need to know whether to be planning another day or not. Heck, I've only got 2 months left to plan. Tick, tock, tick, tock......:hourglass

;)

Nice pictures. I've never been to Vegas so it's neat to see people's photos. Those sandwiches look pretty good...but the meatball one sounds like the one I'd order.

So you haven't picked a hotel yet, right? What ones are you thinking about picking?
