Amtrak Train

Has anyone riding the Amtrak Train to Orlando? If so, how did you get from the train station to your disney resort? The only outside of Disney they provide is to the airport. We thought about renting a car...but the rates are over $100 and that's not even keeping the car overnight. Any suggestions?

There is no Auto-Train service anywhere except for the single route between Virginia and Florida, with no intermediate stops.

No. Auto-Train exists only in the single Lorton, VA - Sanford, FL route.

The private Auto-Train corporation, back in the 1970's, did inaugurate a Louisville, KY-Sanford service, but it was never as successful and would be a contributor (among other factors) to the company's eventual bankruptcy. There were also proposals (later 1990's, I think) for a Pacific Northwest to L.A. route, but nothing ever came of it. Terminal costs would be very high for any expansion of the service.
