I am looking for some insight regarding taking AMTRAK to the Orlando area, and getting from the station to WDW. Does anyone have any experience with this? Good? Bad?

All thoughts and comments appreciated....

I've taken Amtrak from NC to WDW twice. I've finally convinced everyone to fly. Although it was a long trip it wasn't too terrible (aterall I did it twice). I prefer the train over driving since I can get up and move around. If you are able to sleep in a reclined seat (I am) with lots of activity around (earplugs & sleep mask) you sleep most of the trip.

We booked to Kissimmee instead of Orlando since it is closer to WDW and the taxi isn't as expensive. There are lots of cab drivers hanging around when the trains arrive. I also think you can book other transportation. I don't know why a towncar wouldn't be willing to pickup there.

I didn't experience any problems. We had a great taxi driver and even called him when we moved from Universal to WDW.
