This has gone back and forth many a time but my usual answer, from someone who has used the train over 15 trips, Kissimmee station...

Why, because its a very small station and most everyone else gets off in Orlando...

Due to track repair, hurricane issues we have had to use Orlando and hated it every time... Numerous guests trying to board single file thru one car door while baking in the Florida sun.... You got every person trying to board carrying multiple bags plus Disney shopping bags down aisles and trying to find their seat and stow stuff in the overhead .... very time consuming and by the time "you" finally get to your seat, you're covered in sweat....for the duration of your trip... No thank you!

Kissimmee, 20 miles further south, very few people detraining and boarding... Still in Florida's heat but maybe 10 guests there boarding with you...so easy with less people congestion...you can get off at Orlando and board in Kissimmee if you want but we do Kissimmee both ways..but Orlando is chaos ....

How to get to WDW.... Kissimmee and Orlando have cabs available (40.00 from Kissimmee and 50.00+ from Orlando..) been a few years so I guess those prices are low...car rentals at Orlando only...

We prefer a car service... Most grant a 30 minute grocery stop ( food, snacks, drinks and alcohol).. Most run 100.00- and up round trip... They monitor the trains arriving schedule ( most Amtrak Trains run late) and are waiting when you arrive... Clean ( taxi are filthy and smoke smelling) SUV's... Air running waiting to get you where you're going....very personalized service...

You're most welcome...

By the time you make it into Kissimmee, trains usually late.... A nice car service waiting is a pleasant sight .. If you opt for this, we have our grocery list in hand to fly thru the store.... There's a Publix from there to Disney on the way... My wife handles the meat and cheese counter while I prowl the rest of the store for snacks, beer wine and soda.... Next door is a liquor store for more potent libations...

For us you can't beat a homemade salami, ham and cheese sandwich on a hard roll after a few days of restaurant food... We also like making picnic lunches for down at the pool relaxing...

Thanks pepe! Quick question - which car service do you order? The only one I know of in the area is Happy Limo and for a sedan its 100+ one way!

I'm sorry to day but who we use is one of the banned from discussing company's on this board...usual rate is 100.00-120.00 round trip with the 30 minute grocery stop ...

Some company's mentioned on here we've used and didn't care for... Tough choice !!

Go to other Disney forum boards and check out what others are professing... Some sites if you mention them get a little discount... mouseforless is one...

We used Tiffany. We had roundtrip from the Orlando Amtrak station. They provided very good service and were waiting for us when we go there. I will definitely use them again for our next trip in two years. We did not use the grocery stop since my son drove down and had our supplies with him.
