Amtrak station to Harbor

We’re going to be traveling by Amtrak for our trip next spring, and plan to stay at one of the hotels on Harbor Boulevard, across from the park. We have not narrow that down specifically yet. What’s the best way to get from the station to the hotel? I’ve read about ART, can we do that as a one-way trip with luggage?

I would imagine that you could get an Uber/Lyft/car service pretty easily, unless you’re planning on a super-budget transport. Most of the car services do round-trip pricing to get you and your luggage to the hotel quickly and easily, and then back to the station when your trip is done.

This makes me want to take the train to Disneyland now...

I don't have anything to add but I'm interested to hear how your trip on Amtrak goes. I enjoyed my Amtrak ride from SF to Denver. If you have taken Amtak before be aware that they often run late. I arrived 3 hours late when I took my trip.

We are also taking the train on our upcoming trip. San Diego to Anaheim. We plan to uber to our hotel from the station.

I've used both the shuttle and Lyft from the Amtrak station to a Harbor hotel. Both were fine. If you don't want to wait for the shuttle then use Lyft to go straight to the hotel. It's a short drive. The shuttle is going to be cheaper (I think) and it drops you off at the resort but it's a very short walk to Harbor hotels. When I used the shuttle there were very few people on the shuttle so luggage wasn't an issue.

The train ride is a lot of fun if you are doing the San Diego - Los Angeles section, such great views. Transportation from the station for us was a super easy and fairly cheap Uber ride. The only time that this is complicated is if there is an event at Angels Stadium as you might have trouble getting a car.

I will consider that a reminder to check the schedule!

By all means just take an Uber/Lyft, my kids did and it was a very quick ride to their hotel. ART isn't worth the time or hassle IMHO.

Take an Uber...its cheap and quick to get you to Harbor and your hotel...I do this all the time....

I did this in June. I took the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner train from Union Station in Downtown LA to Anaheim ARTIC train station. I took the ART bus up Katella Avenue to Anaheim Garden Walk / Cheesecake Factory and then walked to Motel 6 Maingate.

The ART bus on this route does not have space for luggage, however there was just 1 other passenger and there was no issue with my luggage. For reference I had a large 50 Lb pull along suitcase, a gym bag and a small backpack as I am an international traveller. The bus on this route also has steps up.

We take the Surfliner from San Diego to Anaheim about once a month. We are actually going this weekend. You can transfer to ART for free with your Amtrak ticket, but we always take a Lyft. We have arrived at the ARTIC when games are going on at Angel’s Stadium and the Pond (or whatever they call the Duck’s arena now). One time, the train was PACKED with people going to see the Ducks v. Kings. It was standing room only. We still had no problem getting a Lyft. The biggest issue would have been finding seats on the train had I not reserved business class. I always reserve business class if I am traveling during the summer, on a holiday weekend, or if a popular event is going on. It takes the stress out of finding seats for everyone in our family.
