First fare is full price,
Second fare is half price,
Third fare is FREE!

It is good for the auto train! I just checked to see, just out of curiosity.
We are not planning on going until next year though, but it sure is tempting. The cost for 5 of us to go this year is about $222.00 cheaper from the AAA rate. hmmmm maybe if there are some good codes for hotel rooms a trip this year maybe in the works!

FYI, I priced this special out for four people (2 adults, 2 children) and found it to be cheaper to list 3 adults and 1 child because of the way they are allocating the discount to the fares. I placed a call to Amtrak and they said it wouldn't be a problem to list a child as an adult, just a problem the other way around. Hope this helps somebody as the fares varied by up to $50 by this change.
