Amtrak credit card and points

I got an email offering 12,000 points to sign on for a Amtrak credit card. What does 12,000 points get me?
I am interested in traveling on the autotrain in Jan 2014 and was hoping to get a bedroom (not roommette, too claustrophobic for us!).

I think it's a one zone trip. This means 25000 AGR points for a 1 bedroom. A car is another 15000.

I was able to get a sign up bonus of 32000 points a couple of years ago. If you have the time, it might be worth the wait. -- Suzanne

the credit card is a great way to earn that room FREE! About 3 yrs ago they had 25000 points BUT I have been watching for that deal ever since and it has never come back, so I would jump on this offer and not expect it to go up with more .
