We used the AmEx offer for Undercover Tourist last December. We saved $40 ($20 off on 2 different cards). We are considering returning our unopened tickets to UT and buying a different kind of pass. Our new passes will be more expensive. I spoke with UT, and they process this as a complete return and then repurchase. Will AmEx take back the credit we received in December? I don't want to miss out on that, but I will if I have to. I just need to factor that info in to my math before making a decision. Totally understand UT's policy, but I'm wanting all the info before we decide which is the better choice for us. Hope that made sense.

I am not totally sure what will happen with a total return. But I used an AmEx Royal Caribbean offer to book shore excursions for a cruise. The discount was $100 per card for $400 spend. One of the excursions got cancelled and they refunded $75 back to each card. I was afraid that they would take back the $200, but that didn't happen. Hopefully it has been long enough since your purchase that there won't be a problem.

ETA: I purchased the excursions in January and the return was processed in May, so there was about 4 months between.

I had an offer for Walmart a few years ago. Something like $10/15 off a $35 purchase. I returned one item, the charge was credited back to my Amex card and they did take the bonus credit ($10 or $15, I can't remember) back.

I've had some taken back and some not. The recent one taken back was for $50. I could be wrong but I think
The bigger the offer, the More likely they are to take it back.

I just had a credit taken back because of what would be considered a return (long story). If it is processed as a return by the merchant, it is likely AmEx will catch it and take the credit back.

What kind of pass did you purchase?

What is the new, more expensive pass you want to change to?

You may be better off to upgrade your pass after you get to Disney.

You should get gate price for the pass applied to the purchase of your new pass.

You can go to Guest Relations or most windows at the parks to upgrade your ticket.

More than likely you will lose the $40 offer money if you do the return with UCT. Plus, since it was the $20 offer, the cost of the passes you have may have already increased as well. I think UCT is great, but in this case I would probably take my passes to Disney if they are a pass that you can upgrade.

We bought 7 day park hoppers with the intention of upgrading to APs. The 6 day with one extra day free were the best savings on UT website, so that's why we picked them. We've now decided to save the $ and do a trip elsewhere next year. But our trip at Thanksgiving is now 10 days (actually 11) long, so we want 10 day PH. We know we can upgrade at guest relations, but we cannot book our FP for the last 3 days without a valid ticket. We were hoping to just be done with the upgrade so we can have all 10 days available to book FP+ for. If we wait, we'll have to book our FP+ on our first day of vacation for the last 3 days. I'm afraid we'll be limited in our choices if we wait. First world problems, I know . . .

My daughter and I just got back. We had 5 day base tickets and upgraded to AP at the park for a 9 day stay. I was worried about FP but we spread out our FP so we had each park scheduled and got what we really wanted. We then did FP for the other days once we upgraded. We didn't have a problem getting things but you have to keep checking the app to try to grab them. We rode all the big things in each park. The only one we didn't get was Mine Train ... we had a FP but it broke down. Not a factor in the passes we had but that was the only ride we wanted to do and couldn't. We'll just do it next trip.
