Amex Offer

American Express has an offer for Lowe's Hotels and Resorts that if you spend $200 you can get a $50 statement credit. I already have paid for my room so I can't get the credit that way. However, I was thinking that if I utilize room charging privileges in the parks I could get the credit that way. Does anyone know how the charges are billed back to your credit card....does it come through as a Lowes charge or a Universal charge? Charging around $200 to the room would come out to a better deal than the regular 10% off when paying with your AmEx.

Just found this offer online and these are the terms...
TERMS
Reservations must be made online at loewshotels.com or by phone at 800.235.6397. Valid in US only. Not valid on Orlando properties. Subject to availability. Enrollment limited. Limit 1 statement credit per American Express Card across all American Express offer channels. Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 10/29/14, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase. Note that American Express may not receive information about your qualifying purchase from the merchant until all of the items from your qualifying purchase have been provided or shipped by the merchant. Statement credit may be reversed if qualifying purchase is returned/cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your transaction as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the statement credit. For example, your transaction will not qualify if it is not made directly with the merchant. From what I could figure on this as it wasn't clear until I looked through it - is that you have to link your amex to facebook to get the offer. Once you do that you sign up for this particular offer so it is actually loaded to your card. I would expect after that is done when you make a charge at Loews - Loews will show up as the vendor on your cc (it does mine) and you will get your statement credit.

I believe when I pay the balance of my resort charges, I should get the credit even though I have the room already book.

You are right, I see that now after reading the fine print. Bummer.
