Has anyone stayed at the Amerisuites at Calypso Cay? There is a $43.88 rate available for next weekend on HotelKingdom. We are leaving next Sunday and would like a nice suite hotel at an economical price. Thanks.

we stayed there 2 days in Oct

front desk was very nice

buffet was bagels, toast, juice, cereal, french toast, pastry, yogurt

fairly nice pool area with zero entry pool and small waterslide, and bar area, a regular pool, and free mini golf

the room: you walk into the living area- sleeper sofa, couch, chair, sm table to eat at, micro, fridge, dishes

there is a partial wall separating the sleeping area, with the bathroom off of there. The TV is shared between the bedroom and living area

I thought it was clean and worth what we paid. The only thing I did not like was that it only had a partial wall(DH likes to stay up late and watch tv, and I am early to bed, early to rise).

There is a rewards program you can join on the internet. With it, you get free local calls and late check out if available.

We stayed here through Hotel Kingdom for two nights, two weeks ago. We paid the same great rate and were pleased. The room was as described above and bigger than a reglar hotel room. It was great for the 4 of us. We got two beds to avoid folding out the couch and losing space.
The staff was very good there. It was a busy weekend with busses of cheerleaders but we onyl saw them early at breakfast. No problem or noise. The dining room was a bit crowded but fine when they left. In the evenings they pop fresh pop corn and it is free too. They have 24 hour coffee out too. The kids liked the minature golf.
There are timeshare units on site and it seemed the people were at about there 90 minute mark when the sales rep brought them into the breakfast area for coffee. We sat next to a very nice salesman with very rude customers. What a switch! He was so low pressure and fun and they were actually ignoring him and druming their fingers. Said 90 minutes up - we are out of here. He was a gentleman, thanked them for attending the presentation and they laughed at him and said where are the tickets. It must be a tough job when they get the people who are using the place for tickets and have no interest. They could at least be polite!
Anyway, the rooms were clean, big, staff friendly, conveniently located and alot of amenities for the guests. Go and enjoy!

I had noticed that same great rate at HK. I looked today for next year and the rate has more than doubled to $99 a night! It had been showing $43.88 per night for Jan now it shows $ 99...WOW some increase!

I agree with all of the positive comments, clean, nice pool, free putt-putt golf. We have stayed at numerous hotels, and this one had very thin walls, and our door rattled every time someone else shut their door. We finally stuck paper in the door frame to keep it from rattling. The hotel wasn't very crowded, and the other guest weren't unusually noisy, just poor noise insulation.
We did not sleep well.

Having said that, the kids loved it, and I would consider staying there again for a couple of nights, but definitely not for a week.
