America's Largest RV Show

Were thinking about going on the first day its is open (while the kids are in school) I will take tons of pics and post on my facebook page.

This is just a short hop for you, Jess. Look and see if there are any North Trail FX's for me.

Anyone interested the first day of the show allows seniors to buy one ticket and get one for free.
This would be on Sept. 16th.
We will be there that day:upsidedow:hug::hug:

Well were here!

It is about 3/4 the size it usually is. We haven't gotten through all of it yet. We came back to the camper to eat. If you plan on coming for just the day i suggest you bring a picinic. The hamburgers alone are $8

I say take a picnic lunch with you. 2 burgers and 2 cokes = $23.00 + tax

The Show was smaller than last years maybe 2/3 or 3/4 of the size. I saw lots of sold signs on the campers. This years hot interior feature is a fireplace only 1 was gas the others were Electric.

I only saw 3 with Dishwashers. http://www.fisherpaykel.com/ I did get to check out the MCD industries window shades that were in some units both electric and manual. I think I am replacing my shades with the MCD's over the winter. http://www.mcdinnovations.com/

Well, after spending the day at the show, I have now tossed all the research I did online and believe I am going to stick with a Jayco, most likely the Jay Flight 22FB. I also learned that Jayco and Starcraft are one and the same now, since Jayco bought out Starcraft a while ago after Starcraft declared bankruptcy.

The show was very disappointing this year....... about 2/3 of past years (we live 10 minutes away and have gone every year for the past 9 years) Lot's of fifth wheels, very few hybrids or popups. We did see a Cougar 5'er with a loft that left us yearning!

DEFINITELY pack a lunch, or a least run down the road 1/4 mile to WENDY's for cheaper junkfood!

Yeah, we noticed the lack of hybrids and pop ups, too. Seems the dealers are more interested in pushing the high end expensive 5ers and motorhomes. Paid $2.25 for a small cup of coffee!!!!!!!! Fortuneately, we packed our lunch.

DH was disappointed in the show. However, he did get to do the 2 things he wanted to do, Talk to the freightliner and cummins reps and to ease his mind that we made a good decision on what we purchased in January.

Wasn't worth the $14 admission.

We noticed that Gulfstream did not have one motorhome there. Was all TT's

Didn't arrive until around 230 and left a little after 6. We hit the parks and left there early too because we forgot to bring along jackets.

It was our first time there. So we did not know what to expect. I was not going to pay $3.50 for a pretzel what a rip off.

Campers were nice so was the price. Fireplace I would love to have but I would have to hang it from our ceiling,

I did not like the high profile campers which were the ones that were over 12 feet tall. To get to the bedroom you had to go up 3 steps.

Other than that is was very interesting, we saw our salesman there asked him a question, he didn't have an answer

Thanks to this board we got our question answered.
LOL shirley 38 :confused3:confused3:confused3:confused3

Jim, please make sure and buy more trailer than your truck is rated for, that way we will have something to talk about here.

Okay, how's this - do you think I will need trailer brakes with a trailer this size? GVW is 6900 lbs. I think my truck has a 4 pin connector and I can rewire the trailer connection to fit it. I'm pretty sure I can weld a platform on the back to carry a golf cart, too.

No need for brakes on the trailer, the truck has them on all 4 wheels anyways, load the bed as full as you can, they size it so that the truck will carry whatever you can fit in it (people went to college to make these calculations, who am I to question them)
Remember that you only need one brake light, the other is an extra just in case.
If the trailer sways just hit the gas, the truck will pull it back straight.
