Those days are long gone. The corporate shells that replaced the labels now focuses on finding fresh young pretty things, rushing 'em into the studio with one or at best two good numbers and then throwing them to the wind, where they quickly perish once the gloss of that one "hit" wears off. There's absolutely no focus anymore on identifying and nurturing real talent. It's all about immediate gratification.

Sadly, this sort of thing doesn't happen anymore.

And AGT is not a replacement.

I almost used the "one hit wonder"... And so true, regarding AGT, BGT and AI. Reality TV takes expectations to an even higher level.

I'm surprised more folks don't realize, it takes YEARS to become an overnight success. It's a hard life and the glamour...just not all it's crack up to be.
