Americans and Canadians culture Q&A Thread.

My preteen daughter was in LOVE with JB when he came here. I bought the tickets and my sister stepped in to take her. She took one for the team lol
I’m still traumatized from the day I decided to walk through the lobby of the ACC (hockey arena, basketball (whatever), and concert venue) on the night of a JB concert. So many preteens/teens. Most apparently having been told to stick together which they interpreted as holding hands, so you had to fight your way through these chains of girls.

Yes, they could if they were asked with non political intent and instead with culture in mind.
No politics here, just a good, old-fashioned hands-across-the-boarder gripe-fest about something that sucks for all of us. :charac2:

Did anybody else have a travel horror-story over the holidays? It was so drastic here that all three of Canada's national airlines are in front of a Commons Committee today trying to answer for themselves and their very poor customer service policies. Obviously it was a continent-wide problem and still is; thinking of yesterday's FAA shutdown of all air traffic. Thoughts?

I feel bad for all Americans and Canadians affected yesterday.

They aren’t so we can’t. It’s all good
You could always google your questions. I do have a solution though. I know we can’t discuss politics here. So I’ll post the links to our government’s websites, so you can search your questions there and get accurate neutral answers and facts. I think Canadians might enjoy exploring the websites just for expanding personal knowledge on the USA. I learned a lot from looking at your parliament’s websites, and have a better understanding on our similarities and differences. :-)

I'm 100% sure that the kinds of questions that @prairie_girl has will NOT be answered at any of these US government websites. (She can correct me if I'm wrong and I will totally retract this.) As for "interests sake" browsing. I hope most people aren't that bored. The US government websites are so incredibly dry to read. (Yes, I have visited a number of them looking up information in the past.)

I partly meant she could ask a Congressman/Congresswoman/Senator a question via email. I don’t find them dry to read but I like history. I can’t picture many questions that she has that doesn’t already have an answer. :confused3

Oh Buzz…

I think you’re trying to be helpful. Either that, or you drew the short straw in the contest who can make her stab herself in the eye today, but I really don’t need you to post government website links. US ones at that.

Like @Frozen Canuck said, the answers I’m looking for can’t be found on any website. I 100% guarantee that. And, I’m sure government officials have WAY more pressing concerns than answering a question from a Canadian.

Now, I’m not talking politics any more, even as vaguely as I have, because I’m not going to be the reason this thread is finally brought down.

Just trying to help.

Sorry Buzz. Like Bryan Adams, you can't claim Nickelback either. They are from a small town outside of Calgary. We drove past the sign of a small town one time that said, "Home of Nickelback" and my husband wouldn't even slow down so I could take a picture!!!
I spent the weekend in Hanna once visiting some friends. I kept my eye out for Chad but I never did see him. ( Or any of the other guys). :rockband:
