Americans and Canadians culture Q&A Thread.

Pineapple on pizza? Do Canadians do this or is this just an American thing?
You don't (generally) see pineapple thrown on random types of pizza. Hawaiian is a specific thing; ham and pineapple. I'm confident there isn't a pizza place in the nation without Hawaiian on the menu.

ETA: And, pretty much all Canadians like it (of course this is a generalization), unlike the Americans who apparently often find it abhorrent.

Well there is a pizza here called Canadian.

Pepperoni, mushroom and bacon. It’s even sold as a frozen pizza…lol
How can a Canadian pizza not have Canadian Bacon on it?

Our favorite pizza place does not offer a Hawaiian pizza as a menu item. But you can make one with the create your own menu.

The Pizza Hut chain offers a Hawaiian pizza, but it is made with Chicken, not ham. https://www.pizzahut.com/index.php?menu=pizza#/menu/pizza/new-spicy-lovers

Yeah, we don't really call it Canadian Bacon here. I don't think I have ever seen it called that in grocery stores.

When I search for it at my local grocery chain I get this message:

No results found

We're sorry, we could not find any matches for "canadian bacon" in Products.
Is our version called American bacon in the grocery stores in Canada?
